This prime beachfront home on the famous Banzai Pipeline is one of the deepest beaches in Hawaii, is privacy gated with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, two story home with beachfront decks on two levels. Built in 1992 by owner, its clean, light colored tiles and carpet is still one of the better homes on the North Shore offered for rent. The home allows more privacy having the second story with its own family room and 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The first floor has the living room, kitchen 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

From November through March, the North Shore's winter waves attracts world class surfers from around the world. While spectacular, caution is advised. The beach in front of the house extends a long way beyond Sunset Beach, with a high concentration of the world's greatest surf spots and ocean. A life guard stand is in front of our neighbor's house, providing guidance for swimmers and surfers.

The nearby town of Haleiwa is most charming with innumerable art galleries, shave ice, shops and restaurants. In the other directions is the Turtle Bay Resort, with golf, tennis, restaurants and very nice beaches as well.

All 4 bedrooms are air conditioned by solar power. We also have a Jacuzzi hot tub in the yard. We do our best to maintain the property and provided the highest level of luxurious amenities possible. The beach in front goes forever, it seems - great for walking on the beach, as well as the beach view from the house. The other side of the house is a bike path going along the best beaches in the world.

About Rai Chu

You have heard about whining to a spouse saying 'when are you going to get me a spot on a number 10 beach' (rated from 1 to 10). Well we looked for many years and finally found the perfect spot on a high noll in front of Rock Piles. We then tore down the old house owned by a Hollywood movie writer, so we could build the nicest possible house on this lot. This house has been the spot for writers, photographers, surf industry and other surfing affcionados during the high surf season. Then the rest of the year from March to early November it is great for those who are more timid in the ocean. Anytime its great to sit on the deck and read a good book while watching and hearing the crashing waves.

Why Rai Chu chose North Shore Oahu

This has always been my favorite area of Hawaii - a great beach town with great restaurants, art galleries, interesting shops, great shaved ice and most of all great & beautiful beaches. These beaches have charisma. I wanted a # 10 (rated from 1-10) as far as beaches go and found my paradise here. It is a total get away, very quiet and serene, while during world class surfing events and big wave season, it is difficult to find parking or a place to hang your hat. You can be very satisfied that you have this place to rest and relax.

What makes this house unique

The beach from our house goes on forever for long walks and sight seeing, shelling, swimming or just watching the surfers, boats or other beach goers. Also in season, whales can be seen in the distance. Directly in front of our house is 'Rock Piles' where you can sit between the rocks and let the waves crash over you. The best time of day is the hour or two before sunset, when the sun is low in the sky and casts a golden glow on the beach. Then we stop everything to watch the sunset on the horizon ... just another perfect day in paradise.

Location, Location, Location!

We have been staying on the North Shore for several years now. This by far is one of the best places we've ever stayed! The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked. We had 8 adults and a couple babies. There was more than enough room. The kitchen was big enough to prepare meals for everyone and the table was large enough that we could all enjoy our meal together. I can't say enough about the location - right on the beach, walking distance to Foodland, Sharks Cove, Sunset Beach and Teds! Everyone was happy, the beach lovers, the surfers and the book worms. We all miss starting our days on the beach with a cup of coffee and ending them watching the sunset on the beach with a glass of wine. Cannot wait to return!

Huntington Beach

Awesome family vacation

This location on the North SHore was beyond all of out expectations. It was such perfect location as well as vacation rental for all of my young adult family. My surfer sons loved that the best waves were literally steps away from the house while those of us who did not surf simply enjoyed the beaches, waves and relaxing on the lanais so much t very clean, spacious and very nicely furnished and decorated. It was large enough to sleep 9 very comfortably and also allow us to have quiet private space to read a book or relax. The best part of this trip is that it allowed our family to all eat together at the large dining room the meals they really had fun preparing in the spacious kitchen which had all the amenities of home. When we weren't eating drinking or playing games we had brought we could hang out in the jacuzzi or simply hang out on the beach and watch the waves. It was so relaxing and enjoyable of a family vacation that I don't think I could top this location for the perfect place that pleaases everyone. The beach was so picture perfect we had a beautiful family picture taken on the rocks outside the vacation home I can't This place was perfect and definitely had everything we wanted.

Almost a great house

There are a lot of great reviews for this house, however we found many things that were not well represented. On arrival, saw dead bugs in various areas, rodent droppings on the couch and upstairs bathroom sink, master bedroom is missing an outlet cover, and it was not as clean as I expected (ex: there was obvious dirt under one dining chair as if that spot was missed completely when mopping, crumbs on the kitchen counter, and candle wax spilled on the coffee table) Cell phones would not work well in the house (Verizon service) so it was difficult to communicate with Rai and Tricia. Eventually, we did get a reply were told it was probably gecko droppings and that we should not leave the doors open or they will come in the house. Tricia did not have any interest in coming to the house to check on our concerns as she had approved the condition of the house few days earlier. The windows were hard to open and we saw holes in a few areas around the edges of the windows, which would also allow gecko entry so we had to use the air conditioning instead. The landscaping between the house and beach is grown to a point that the view is somewhat obscured. The sliding doors to the two decks cannot be used making it impossible to use to upstairs deck where you have a better view of the beach. The path to the beach is overgrown and at the end of the steps, there is a steep bank of loose sand to walk down to get to the beach. It’s not easy to walk back up for someone with back or knee issues. The faucets leaked, the master toilet ran (had to jiggle the handle often). The deep master bathroom whirlpool tub can be difficult to step in and out of for a short person. We got tiny ants in the bathroom and the kitchen. The carpet is overdue for replacement (doesn’t look clean) as well as some bathroom fixtures and pots and pans, and many walls could use a coat of paint to cover dirt and scuff marks. The hot water becomes barely warm after about 3 showers. There are not enough cereal bowls or coffee cups (or just do dishes everyday). The deadbolts on the two usable exterior doors must be locked with the key from the inside, which made me question a fast escape in case of fire.

On a positive note, the house is large enough for 8 with sufficient seating. The sheets were nice, the beds were firm, towels were good, great water pressure, tight but sufficient parking. We were able to get a late check out, which was greatly appreciated due to our late flights.

Owner's Response: We, the owners are very concerned about maintenance and making the house the best that it can be at all times.  Most people in business know how devastating a negative review can be.  We also make certain that any complaints are addressed at the earliest opportunity, depending on the gravity of the issues, though certainly within 24 hours.  This guest asked my assistant to go 'that day' to see the gecko 'droppings', she offered another day at their suggestion, but no follow through. We are in a very pleasant tropical climate where there are creatures that create 'droppings' - hopefully on occasion when they do, they are cleaned as soon as possible and are almost always undetectable.  In Hawaii, we do not kill geckos as they eat ants and other bugs.  The salt air near the ocean makes the metal window frames not glide like brand new.  We are often replacing the window rollers. We prefer to be open to the elements while we also have air conditioning. Our regular maintenance includes, (1) a regular window washer every 3 months so the glass is clear and clean.  (2) an exterminator for bugs and other unwelcomed pests. (3) a weekly service for the hot tub, spa (3) weekly yard trimming (4) regular screen repair or replacement (4) handyman for tightening plumbing or plumbers and electricians when needed. I am not sure what holes there are around the edge of the windows (perhaps channels for the water to seep through.  Fortunately, our house and lot is higher up above the beach to avoid high surf coming into our house.  The drop to the beach of 8 feet have a well-constructed stair case with railings.  There are plantings along the edge of the yard for the effect and also to hold the bank from sinking into the beach.  Sitting in the yard, you cannot see the whole beach, but if you sit higher on any of the two decks you can see the beach. There is no reason that the sliding doors upstairs and downstairs cannot be used.  We simply advise caution, as we have had adults and children walk through the screens and glass doors.  In the downstairs living area, there is a heavy duty screen door (next to the sliding doors), preferable for going in and out, that does not break or tear from constant ordinary use.  We usually do the maintenance work in November - the calm before the storm of the holidays and winter runaways to Hawaii.  The carpets have been professionally cleaned.  The scuff marks on the walls are touched up.  We take your vacation seriously,

My husband and I rented this house for two weeks for our wedding. We had 8 adults and one baby and there was more than enough room! Waking up and sitting on the lanai watching the ocean was the best feeling ever. The house was in perfect condition and VERY clean (thank you, Tricia). Everything worked well and there was plenty of seating for everyone. The communication with Rai was fast and easy! We would highly recommend staying here! The pictures didn't do the house justice! Enjoy!!

Magical Family Vacation

My family and I spent the 4th of July holiday at this beach bungalow. (5 adults, and 2 teens, 2 pre-teens) I can't say enough about this property! It was everything we wanted and more! We suggest taking the longer route (only 15 minutes further) to get to the house that is on the coast. It is a beautiful route! Don't forget to stop at Gionne's shrimp truck about 5 to 10 minutes from the house. We had garlic shrimp and also ordered the corn on a stick from another stand! This a must won't regret it!! We fell in love with the property the minute we pulled up! The owner was great to work with and as the keeper of the property. They even stopped by to clean the hot tub one day and gave us ideas of places to visit, etc. The house is on a quiet little street and close to a grocery store and food trucks. The Foodland down the street is great for quick stops, however, we preferred the Foodland 10 miles away for bigger selection on meat and fruit. There are several farmer's markets close to the house as well. Ted's café (2-3 miles away)has great coffee and pastries as well! We also loved the waffles at the food trucks by the house. The shaveice stand close to the house is awesome! We probably went back 6 times that week! The owners at North Shore surf shop are awesome. We paddle'd up the river (Manu Oke Kai) and let the kids jump off the bridge. We also snorkeled at shark's cove right by the house. There were a ton of great fish and we even got to see many turtles. All the kids working at this shop are fun and all the activities are wonderful. My daughter even lost her phone at a stand and they returned it to us the next day! We traveled to Waikiki for a day to the beach and wished that we would have just stayed at North Shore. We hiked up to the waterfall (Waimea) and it is a breathtaking walk! We also liked the beach at Waimea Bay Beach Park. The kids loved jumping off the cliffs, over and over. We literally grilled every day. The yard is great for entertaining....decks, hot tub, grill, table, etc. The beach is literally like your own private beach. Waves are big but so awesome to see, you can walk further down to calmer water. If you like exercise, you can run on the beach or there are great bike paths close. We loved the hot tub in the yard under the tree. What a relaxing way to spend your evening after the beach. The whole property, including Trish and Rai are FANTASTIC! It was a magical vacation!!!!!

My husband and I wanted to re live our 25th anniversary vacation to Oahu, that we shared with our kids and best friends. This though was my son and his wife's 5th Anniversary. Last time we stayed in Honalulu, and drove to the north shore every day, we wanted to stay right there this time. Just steps away from The rock pile, Off the wall, Back door and best of all Bonzai Pipeline.

Rai your house was perfect for the 10 of us, let me tell you the pictures do no do the house justice, we had plenty of room and I can not give Trish enough thanks for her help she gave us when it was needed.

We have a lot of great cooks in our family and the kitchen was well equipped and provided everything we needed. Foodland, Ted's Bakery and that fish-stand just down the road on the way to Turtle Bay provided the best fish we have ever had ,fresh marlin and ahi tuna at a great price.

We had plenty of linens and towels and it was great having the washer and dryer.

Thanks again Rai we all can't wait to come back.

Turtle Bay Hilton nearby with tennis, golf, horseback riding and great restaurants. Polynesian Cultural Center further on road about 15 minutes drive together with Brigham Young Univ. and Morman Church. They have really improved their shows and cultural displays as one of the foremost Polynesian entertainment in the Pacific.

The area has many dining opportunities with varied cuisine, as well as casual outdoor eating by the beach or by the country road.
