Attractive and recently refurbished 2 bedroom apartment (81sqm) in the leafy castle district. This flat is very centrally located, right behind the Castle and literally 2 minutes walking distance from the spectacular Castlehill panoramic views. Its close proximity to the famous Chain Bridge makes it an excellent base for visiting all the main tourist sites of Budapest.
The apartment comprises a large, fully equipped kitchen/dining room, spacious and bright living room with CABLE TV & DVD, FREE WIFI, 2 double bedrooms, bathroom and a separate toilet. Further single bed in the living room. The apartment is positioned on the ground floor of a quiet residential building. Gas central heating.
The flat is located on the ground floor and there is a lovely space to sit directly outside the flat in our leafy garden just under the Castle.
Guests will be provided with plenty of towels, fresh bed linen, a hair drier, a fully equipped kitchen, free WIFI and cable TV and a DVD player. There is also a CD player if you would like some background music.
The apartment is very central for Buda and Pest and you can walk to the main tourist attractions. There are bus links (the 105 bus leaves every 10 mins from Alagut just outside the flat and takes you over the Chain Bridge to Deak ter), and a metro close by too at Déli pályaudvar.
I run an event's organisation in Glasgow and fell in love with Budapest 11 years ago. My brother and I bought this apartment then and have enjoyed going there on holiday ever since.
I am very easy to contact via phone or email and have a great agent who will meet you at the flat on your arrival. My neighbours are also extremely helpful
Diane Goudie purchased this apartment in 2003
The condo was a great place to stay, and we highly recommend it. The location provides walkable distance to most of the popular areas in the city core on both sides of the river. The neighbourhood is quiet, safe, charming. All of the amenities in the condo are functional, comfortable, the unit was clean and left nothing to be desired. Diana was so responsive to our communications and made the transaction easy and understandable. If we ever return to Budapest, we will stay here again, we loved it.
We booked this apartment for 3 months, Fall 2016. We chose it because of location and loved it. Was a real neighborhood, not touristy. We had a church, restaurants, post office, grocery, bakeries, produce stores all just steps away. And the proximity to public transportation was great. Or, we just walked. Was quiet, except for a few very early morning conversations under the windows! The owner was easy to work with and very responsive.
We spent a week in the apartment with another couple and were very happy with our stay. If you like to be out of the tourist hustle and in more of a neighbourhood as we do, but with easy access to amenities like a grocery store and public transit, this is a great place on the Buda side just below the castle. The apt is huge and nicely furnished with comfortable seating in the living room and a modern, efficient kitchen with a lovely big table. Although there are not 2 full bathrooms, the separation of the toilet and a sink from the bathtub/shower/sink main bathroom is good. The beds and linens were very comfortable too. We were in B during very hot weather and the apt stayed beautifully cool. It has electric vented shutters that we would lower during the day to keep the heat out and at night so we could open the double sets of windows while we slept. Very quiet area but only a few minutes walk from a good food store, bank machine, bus stop (the frequent 150 takes you right across the bridge to Pest) and some good restaurants where we ate. Loved Bistro Deyrne! Also ate at the 24/7 traditional Hungarian place and a little pub/restaurant. Some very good restaurants a short walk away up on the castle hill. We thought Baltazar was excellent. Communication with the owner and her property manager was excellent and immediate. Only caution would be the shower. It's a very narrow space and might not be suitable for elderly people with balance or mobility issues or very large people. The addition of a rubber mat and a safety bar would be good. The garden also isn't that accessible as it is above the apartment and lacks any seating but we opened the huge living room windows wide in the morning and moved the folding chairs from one bedroom to in front of the windows which made a very nice morning coffee area. I would definitely recommend this apartment as one of the best we have rented.
Really enjoyed our stay in this traditional European apartment with high ceilings and large rooms. We had our 3 separate rooms for sleeping and always the big kitchen/dining room (and usually the living room if daughter wasn't sleeping.) Quiet street and friendly neighbor. We liked being in hiking distance of all the Buda attractions. There was a great traditional restaurant nearby, as well a cafe and little store. Thermal Baths not to be missed. We walked to Gellert, an art deco wonder. Pest across the bridge had more restaurants and shops. Wish we were there longer than 4 nights!
The apartment is situated between the castle & the Danube, (on the Buda side) so is within easy walking distance of main attractions of Budapest. A well-equipped kitchen & huge living area meant that our group of 4 had plenty of space. The two double bedrooms were nicely appointed.
Diane was very easy to deal with, responding quickly to any queries.
We would recommend the apartment to other travellers.
We stayed at the apartment over Easter and found it very comfortable and convenient. The photos are quite accurate as is the general information. Diane was prompt with responses and helpful with information before going.
In terms of location, the flat is slightly outside the hustle-bustle touristy areas in Pest, but only a short walk away from the lovely Buda Castle area. The neighbourhood is nice and local - with a few cafes and restaurants nearby - and the neighbours were friendly too. The area is a short bus/tram away from most of the other areas you'd be interested in visiting. We did end up going up and down a bit (many of the attraction and most of the nice restaurants are in Pest), but the public transport to the flat (and in Budapest more generally) is very convenient and day-passes are very reasonable priced.
Inside the flat - everything was clean and things worked as they should . Wifi was very good. The shower is a bit fiddly and the flat doesn't have a microwave, but neither were much of a hassle. The flat has high ceilings - so can get cold - but the heating was quite effective. There was also a standing-fan (presumably it gets hot in the summer).
Logodi utca is very centrally located just 5 mins walk from all the restaurants at the Castle and also just a short walk over the Chain Bridge to Vaci Utca and the Basillica and all that Pest has to offer.
