Nice location, cool breeze off the lake at nite. Enjoyed dinner on the deck every nite. Some work is needed, (mainly paint, dock update) but totally enjoyed our stay. The grandkids totally loved the family play room, and all slept together, (5 of them) on air beds we brought up.

House needs work before it gets rented again

  • 1 of 5

We had high hopes for our stay at this home that were immediately crushed with the water system going down for the count on arrival. We had a large family with small children in a home with no water for flushing, cleaning or bathing/showering first thing upon arrival until late afternoon the next day. It was rough hauling lake water for the toilets & using our container water for all else. The grills, the kitchen, the janky microwave that had to slammed shut several times to work, the large upper deck that felt like it needed work or maybe replaced, the rusted dock area, the kayak with a hole in it that one family member had to swim towing the kayak back (good thing he was a good swimmer). It was all a little much & we all voted in unison we would not return. Fortunately for us our family enjoys each other a lot & we made the best of it in spite of all the hardship in dealing with a home that had so much deferred maintenance we had to work extra hard to make it through. One of the beds in the middle bedroom downstairs should be thrown away! This is not a bed, it was one many years ago but now is just a noisy, squeaky piece of garbage with springs sticking out of it making it so uncomfortable the air mattress we brought was a much better choice. The location of the home is deceptive making you think there is an opportunity to have your boat there, but the lot is figured so that's impossible since you would never be able to maneuver your car/truck and boat to the area to launch it. So that's a feature that was misleading. We learned a lot about what we need to make sure of & what we for sure don't want. The price was too expensive for this place & we are certainly willing to spend more in order to have a level of at the very least, a well maintained property where all the features we plan on using work properly. The property management person was very considerate & helpful, thanks to her we had water the next day and we were so grateful. I hope some type of compensation is given for our struggles through the whole weekend staying in this home.

Pretty good lake house

  • 3 of 5

Stayed in Adam's place beginning of June 2017. The family (11 of us) had a good time there overall.

We caught a lot of fish from the dock. The kids had a great time with this, didn't take long to get a bite and land something small.

The place was private and didn't see neighbors until the last day of our stay.

The firepit was nice, we spent time sitting around it every night.

The property is pretty close to amentities. The city of clear lake was close by and there were wineries close by as well.

Adam responded to emails prior to our trip promptly.

The place needs some work. I took a look at the pictures posted after we returned from our trip. The pictures are old. The dock had a few soft spots and one of the kids actually put a foot thru. Many of the doors don't close easily. The back deck off of the living room also had some soft spots. Nothing terrible, totally expected at an older lake house.

The thing that sold me about this house when I was booking was the game room. I visioned the kids playing pool and throwing darts everyday. The pool table was useless. I racked a set of balls and as soon as I pulled the triangle, the balls rolled to the middle of the table. Even if the table was stable and level, there wasn't a usable poolstick there. Ping pong table's net wouldn't stay up. Only two serviceable darts in the house. We spent zero time in the gameroom during our stay.

Another item that sold me on this house was the boats or kayaks in the listing. There were 4 kayaks at the house. Two were 1 man and two were 2 man. All four kayaks had holes in the hull and the one kayak with the smallest hole would sink in about 5 minutes. All four kayaks were useless.

Bugs were an issue. I spent a good deal of time the first day dealing with cob webs around the house. The roof of the dock was covered with them.

The beds were horrible. Far from comfortable, especially the middle bedroom downstairs.

So, the family and I were looking for a lake house experience and we got it. If the pool table, kayaks, and beds were taken care of, I would have rated this property 5 stars because I would have felt that I got what was expected. All the other issues were small issues expected at a lake house.

Nice Place for a Get Away

  • 4 of 5

I would like to thank Adam for allowing me and my family to stay at his lake house for our mini vacation.

The purpose of the trip was to participate in the catfish derby and have a relaxing get away.

- We caught lots of fish in front of dock; crappies, bluegills, and a few catfish.

- Jumping off the dock was fun! Everyone enjoyed it.

- The house was really spacious. It had all of our kitchen needs.

- We also rented the cottage which was very nice. The cottage was sort of like a studio. It has a kitchen and a bathroom. The bathroom is very spacious and it has two shower heads.

- The patio was nice. We grilled lots of food at the patio and you get a great view of the lake and the mountains.

- The hammock was soothing and relaxing.

- We also watched game 3 of the Warriors & Spurs playoffs, go Warriors!

Although we enjoyed our time at this lake house, we feel there are some things that could have been updated or remodeled.

- Bugs was a huge issue. We noticed a bunch of bugs on our first night. They kept appearing randomly through out the trip. We walked through a lot of cob webs.

- The exterior of the house seems to be aging. You can definitely tell how old the house is.

- The dock seem a bit outdated, there were spiders and bugs all over the dock.

- One of the handle to crank the dock was very stiff, so it was hard to twist the handle.

- The kayaks seems a little off balanced and water was getting inside the kayaks. One of the paddle for the kayak was broken.

- The pool table was not balanced.

- There was AC inside the house but for some reason it only worked better for the game room.

Overall we had so much fun and we enjoyed our stay. Adam was great with communicating prior to our arrival. Thank you again for making this trip happen!

My family and I decided to take a little break from reality and spend the weekend at this beautiful home. We caught a lot of fishes right off the dock, which was the main purpose of this trip. Adam is awesome, as he made sure that all my silly questions were answered in a timely manner. 😁 The only downside, I would have to say about the home is probably the squeaking of the beds. Lol! But other then that, the home was perfect for us. Would definitely recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a nice fishing weekend trip. The dock and fishing is definitely the highlight of our trip. Thanks Adam!

Christmas on the lake

  • 4 of 5

We had a good time at the house during Christmas. The owner Adam was very good and timely in providing information before our arrival and we are very grateful. The house was clean and well maintained and was warm during our stay with heater on. The fire stove in he leaving room is a big plus. We found supply of utensils, dishes and glasses sufficient for 9 people.

One star less as we wanted to use grill, but the grill was somewhat rusty and didn't have oil tray. It was a little hard to find a house at first, especially in the dark.

Overall we really liked the place and would like to come there in summer time.
