EXCEPTIONAL LIVING IN LOFOTEN city special Designed house with two facades of glass and extensive use of roof windows. This Consignor gives an exceptional feeling of beeing outside that inside.

Property area of ​​around 4,000 goals includingyour own freshwater withfresh water trouth. All own togetherness with 5 other ground property owners of the valley.

'Skrådalsvannet' is located around 200 meters from the property, in the hill side. Very shallow shoreline and beach wooden ideal for children play.

Further, it takes around 5 minutes with car two Unstad SURF BEACH.

Exceptional tracking routes starts right outside the door and go to Unstad, Eggum and Bøstad. One of theme are an midle age road.

The area has also BEEN exceptionally for movie making, recently load totals 2013.

Great house in a stunning setting

We enjoyed the architecture, the light (sometimes a bit too much...), the incredible view, the sound system, the design, the deck, the kitchen (cooked all our dinners here, including tørrfisk and fresh cod bought from fishermen...)

And these incredible islands, a reasonable share of great weather (some rain and fog too...), breathtaking hikes (Ågvatnet, Kvalvika, Nesheia/Nusfjord, Nonstinden/Unstad), good swims (yes!) in crystal clear waters, cute villages (Å, Sund, Nusfjord, Reine) in amazing settings, a exhilarating boat trip to Moskstraumen and its bird colonies, cultural discoveries at the Viking center and the various fishing museums.

It's all about the view

The kitchen and bedroom have wide glass that allows you to look down a green valley toward the ocean, mountains on each side, with an outdoor deck off the kitchen to be even more in the view. You see the light change, the midnight sun, and the weather roll in and out. We even kept our dental floss and toothbrushes in the kitchen so we could capture more viewing time. Up the road a few hundred feet is a great local organic cheese maker (Gardsysteri). Wifi was good. The house is centrally located on Lofoten for excursions; Leknes airport with rental cars is only 20 minutes away in a town with a big grocery story. Best Leknes restaurant: Johnsen’s Fiskerestaurant. If you cook full dinners in to get the most out of the house’s exhilarating views, you might have to buy some extra kitchen tools. The main bedroom is above kitchen and bathroom below so this might not be the house for you if you have to get up at night, especially with the first flight of stairs open to one side with no railing. We had to set up the drying rack in front of the small bedroom door to get things like towels/clothes dry (no rods and the hooks are two low), so can’t imagine more than two adults in the house. The most important tip for hikers like us: hikes are tougher than represented here and mostly at your own risk, so we looked for hikes that made us very happy without doing the harder bit (Kvalnik from the E10 parking lot gets you to the beach with amazing views and then you can decide whether/how high you want to go to the summit; Bunes has a saddle halfway up to the summit with amazing views of two fjords, but get to the ferry early on both ends; for Henningsvaer you can turn right halfway up toward the lake for a fantastic overlook and avoid the crazy summit). The second tip: in the morning check the rain patterns on www.yr.no (after picking a village/town, press the button for “forecast as PDF” to get hour by hour breakdown, and otherwise go to “maps” to see radar for 3 days) and plan your day (closeby, Eggum halfway to Unstad is flat and easy but really great and good in rain, closer, Unstad halfway to Eggum is also great but not good for rain, Offersoykammen is close, one hour good footing to the summit, stunning views unless there are clouds). It is an extraordinary privilege to experience Lofoten Islands, so don't go if you can't help keep it clean.

Owner's Response: Dear David: Thank you very much for all the feedback. Yes it is all about, location location, I know about this rediculess low hooks for towels, and no heating rail for towels. I will fix that I want to make new bathroom under the terrace/ altan with all windows. I want to make a long slot in the wall and LED, instead of hand rail. Thank you and welcome back David, ...soon. Good and solid property, with a trustable owner!

Prima locatie in het midden van de Lofoten, omringd door bergen en kalme beekjes kom je hier optimaal tot rust! Zorg wel voor eigen vervoer want het ligt erg afgelegen. Het huis zelf was comfortabel op een paar kleine puntjes na, de deur van de badkamer is erg zwaar en kan er nog wel eens uitglijden.Voor het ultieme surf en noorderlicht plezier, zit je hier op een toplocatie. Helge is een man van zijn woord en antwoord op eventuele vragen. Dat geeft een gerust gevoel. Eveneens zijn buurman Richard die de borg ophaald is erg aardig en behulpzaam. Ik raad ieder dit aan, het is veel beter als een hotel. Afspraken zijn allemaal nagekomen, we hebben het hier ondanks het slechte weer enorm naar ons zin gehad!:)

Wonderful house in a green valley

This is a truly beautiful house in a lovely hidden valley in one of the most fantastic natural paradises of Europe. The house was built and decorated by an extremely caring owner with wonderful taste. After each day's hiking my husband and I were so happy to come home to this bright and cheerful little home, and we felt very lucky to be staying there. The bedroom is like a paradise of light and beauty. All was very clean and I can truly say that it was even more wonderful than the photos. The outdoor space must be great for meals - we had somewhat iffy weather so only managed one breakfast there. The point is that the house is so nice to be in that the weather doesn't matter. The sound system is beautiful and we were able to hook up our phones to listen to plenty of music. Helge the very friendly owner, with whom we corresponded by email, is literally on call and responds helpfully to every comment and question and has suggestions for local activities. I had some questions before arriving and his help was invaluable. His neighbors Richard and his wife were there to help as well. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and were very sad to leave. A couple of practical suggestions: it would be nice to have a toaster; there was only one wine glass; and there is not enough silverware, even for two people, one has to keep washing it all the time. And one thing that visitors should be aware of is that the wifi is not high-speed internet, it has only 3G and is slow. (We gather that this may not be possible to fix as it seems to be related to the local cell tower.)

In conclusion, we recommend Helge's house without hesitation and thank him for a wonderful stay!

Owner's Response: Dear Nina: Thanks, a lot. It means a lot to me that people not only see what has been put into the house in planning and effort, but also take the time and effort to write about it. Internally in the house, the idea was to make it as simple as possible- and to make inside/ outside with less boundaries. Extrenally, to combine old traditional house with new minimalistic house is trickey. I designed today, both facades would have been all glass. :) I actually sent a package of wine glasses up to Lofoten, but due to som misunderstanding, it was put in the white house. I was actually thinking that you needed wine glasses:) for your Lofoten Lodge relaxation. I am sorry for that it did not work out acc to plan. Anyway more siverware is also on the way. The wifi should be 4G in the valley and should be 20-40 GB per sec. I have abonement for 20GB per month. This is very fast., I I will complain to the provider . And Nina, if you are in Oslo now, hope we can meet to say hello and a coffi. Just call, you have the number.. Kindly Helge Cato

Idyllique et inoubliable !

Nous avons passé en famille un séjour inoubliable dans les magnifiques îles Lofoten, et ce splendide et confortable lodge y a grandement contribué.

Ce logement allie le confort cosy scandinave, avec le retour et la proximité avec la nature, car situé dans un lieu préservé et grandiose !

Il est non seulement très très beau mais également très pratique : doté de toutes les commodités en particulier quand on séjourne avec des enfants ( lave-vaisselle, machine à laver ...).

Le propriétaire est très serviable et sympathique : il est très désireux que nous passions le meilleur séjour qui soit.

Nous ne pouvons que vous le recommander vivement pour un séjour en famille, entre amis ou même en amoureux !
