Clean and decorate nice. Very comfortable
We stayed for Christmas. It was close to new port and foxwoods. We had a great time at both and it was nice to go back to the cottage after. Very home. Love the back yard. Want to come back in the summer
Great Girls Getaway!
My friends and I went there for a girls weekend and had a great time. The place is clean and efficient. Everything you might need is at hand. Conveniently located to lots of shopping, entertainment, and restaurants.
house was nice and well equipped. would rent again
The pros: As depicted, the cottage is in a good location, easy to access both the beaches and to visit Mystic. There are stores and restaurants within just a few miles. The cottage is by far, the best of the lot, in the group of cottages. The Owner has put great thought into amenities and décor and the pictures are accurate. I appreciated that the bath, though not shown in pic's, is updated and the Owner is thoughtful in the toiletries he makes available. The cottage was tidy.
The cons: The area was just not for me, this is not the fault of the Owner. I was traveling solo with two dogs and the cottage is secluded backing into woods, (which I knew) however, where I thought this would be a "community" of cottages, many of the other cottages look dated/worn out and not at all well maintained, with junk piled on lawns and neglected landscaping etc. It really brought down the whole area.
The cottage, though advertised with bikes, as I was later told by the Owner, hasn't had bikes in 5 years-I'm a very physically active person, visiting in the fall-so bikes were a big selling point. The dishwasher never worked. I cooked 3 meals a day-it was not fun to be away doing dishes. The Owner could not be reached via phone & did not have VM set up. He did, answer his email, but on a 3 night stay-took a full day to respond-and when he did, there was no apology, just a statement that he would have it checked and fixed. He did apologize for the inconvenience when I reached out to him to vacate the cottage (via email) so that was appreciated-though, a little "too late".
What cute cottage!
What cute cottage! Nestled among other cottages, this one was lovingly cared for. Clean as a whistle too. Close to beaches, shopping, restaurants, etc. Kitchen was well appointed with dishes, pots and pans. Towels and linens were provided. Washer and dryer are on the premises also.
I would highly recommend this place.
Great place to stay awesome cottage with all the amenities you need
Very nice home extremely clean would rent again!
Westerly is in the center of it all. From a 5 to 30 minute drive you could be on the ocean's beach or on the gaming floors at Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun Casinos. Public golf courses are 5 to 10 minutes away. One could stroll the Historic Watch Hill with its quaint shops and restaurants. A short 45-minute drive away is Ocean Drive in Newport, a street that is lined with the breath taking Newport Mansions and the Cliff Walk. If mansions are not to your liking, head down to the boating village of Galilee and Point Judith and go fishing on a large fishing charter boat. If you like to fish and do not like boats, a 20 minute drive into Connecticut you will find the historic town of Mystic, home of Connecticut’s largest aquarium and the historic Mystic Seaport Village with its Museum of America and The Sea. Once there you can climb aboard the many Early American wooden mast sailing ships. Before the end of the day stop by the wineries of North Stonington and pick up a nice bottle of wine.
