The village of Bordes is in the Piemonte Ariègeois or Plantaurel. This is the first chain of the Pyrenees that separates Spain and France. My house is located in the "modern" part of the medieval village. It is classified 4 ** ** by GITE de FRANCE and the 4 travelers in 2017 gave it all 5 ***** This is an old inn built around 1850 by my grandfather, completely restored. It is included in a very shady garden with a patio and a covered terrace. The composition of the house is original and consistent with any typical house in Ariège. It understands in RDC a stay of 70 m2, a modern equipped kitchen and a room of water. On the first floor, 3 very bright rooms and a bathroom. On the second floor, a large loft arranged 4 windows, 2 velux (electric control) with 3 beds, a library, tables to work, great clarity. .The garden is very nice with bistro tables relax for napping, Weber barbecue etc. , a flowered patio for lunch and a covered terrace for dinner. A barn where bicycles are stored for travelers. It also contains a babyfoot and everything needed for grilling.
This region is described in specialized magazines as one of the last "authentic" in Europe. The high hills, steep cliffs, the forest, lakes, hiking trails, small villages with their animations are outstanding .The valley of the arize is winding and its sections are separated from each other by narrow defiles the middle with the famous cave of Mas. The village of Bordes is well located between the Mas d'Azil, its cave and its dolmens and Carla Bayle, city of painters and sculptors. These 3 villages were high places of resistance during the Wars of Religion. many stigmas, e.g. at Les Bordes the shaven castle on the orders of Richelieu.
At the entrance of the village at 500m, the CENTER COMMERCIAL with a Carrefour supermarket, Citroën garage, bakery. A Medical Center with 3 doctors a cabinet of nurses, dentist, physiotherapist. A Cultural Center.
