Comfortable apartment with nice views and great owners

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 4 days during Easter and really enjoyed the place. The apartment description and photos are accurate, and the kitchen is well stocked.

The highlights were the owners, who went out of their way to make sure you had everything to make you visit to the area a success. They really enjoyed sharing their favorite restaurants in the various towns we visited, and by chance they actually showed up at Osteria Picciarello in Marola for their family dinner....worked out well for us as they helped order given the waiter didn't speak much English.

If you like hiking, you can leave from the apartment and hike to Campiglia in under 90 minutes (we had trail to ourselves), from where you can hike into Portovenere in 2 hours, on one of the most scenic paths near Cinque Terre with minimal crowds. Reasonably frequent bus service between La Spezia and Portovenere are on the main road, just a 5 minute hike down some alley ways.

All in all, when we return to the Cinque Terre area, we would gladly stay at this apartment again!

Excellent séjour

  • 5 of 5

  • 4 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Catherine

Excellent rapport qualité/prix/convivialité

  • 5 of 5

Marola is a small village of La Spezia and the sea extends on the hill, with the typical Ligurian terraces, planted mainly with olive trees.

The June 20, 2015 Cadimare, another small village adjacent to Marola, opens the summer season with the folkloristic event "The landing of the pirates."

Every year on the first Sunday in August in the waters off the promenade of La Spezia is held the Palio del Golfo, a historic rowing duel between the thirteen villages of La Spezia to whom Marola participates with great pride and fervor. The Friday night before the duel, the Townships parade through the city streets with bright and colorful choreography.

On August 17 of each year to Portovenere is celebrated the Feast of the Madonna Bianca, with a suggestive night procession.

From 4 to 6 September 2015 in Sarzana will host the twelfth edition of the Festival of the Mind, dedicated to the creation and exploration of the creative process, with meetings, shows and moments of cultural enrichment.
