Everyone that stays here loves it, and you will too. It is quiet and relaxing and a lot of fun. Our kids were raised on the lake and have best memories. Come and make some of your own. It is also very clean.
We would love to chat with you about a reservation.
The sandy beach is very safe and you can slowly walk into the lake. Great for people of all ages. Fishing is fabulous. You can use our dock to keep your boat. There is an additional fee of $100.00 to dock the boat.
We had a peaceful and relaxing week! The house was very clean, well maintained and has everything you need. We had 5 adults and the brand new water heater worked very well. I especially loved the lake breeze coming in the windows! We only needed the AC unit once and it did the trick. There are plenty of fans also.
This house is located down a beautifully picturesque road. Its perfect for morning walks taking in the lake views, cows in the pasture, wild flowers and meadows. But it is also centrally located, you are only a couple of minutes to anything you might need. (like ice cream from Sebs or a pulled pork sandwich from Allenholm farms!)
The owners are very responsive and available if you have any questions. They are wonderful to work with. We had a great time!
Great place to stay on South Hero Island, plenty of dock space for bringing boats and a nice sand beach leading into the water from the property. Clean and well maintained property with plenty of room for activities (Horseshoes, Volleyball, Frisbee, etc) outside. Inside the cottage is well stocked with all the necessities such as pots, pans, dishes and glasses. WiFi and cable TV are a bonus although we spent the majority of our time out enjoying Lake Champlain and the warm weather spell during our stay. Be sure to stop by Sebs ice cream right up the street for a tasty treat and pickup some freshly made donuts for the entire family - you will not be disappointed. Owner is very responsive if anything is needed and quick to respond, if you are looking for peace and quiet this is nice relaxing place to stay.
Very clean and functional. The owners are super friendly and happy to help. This is a great home base location to explore the nearby areas of Vermont. We went out during the day and came back each afternoon to enjoy the lake. My kids loved jumping off the dock into the water and taking the boats out into the lake to fish. The beach was not quite as big as it shows in the picture; we were fortunate to have nice weather so that the beach actually got larger while we were there. I'd imagine that when it rains, the beach likely disappears.
The listing says that it's air conditioned, but there is only a window unit in the kitchen; there is a big floor fan and a window fan in one of the bedrooms. It was quite hot while we were there and the house would really heat up during the day - more than what the air conditioner was capable of handling. It would cool down at night enough that it didn't really affect our comfort while sleeping. The shower on the enclosed porch is not as spectacular as it sounds. The hot water heater is a heat-per-use unit that doesn't keep a consistent temperature. We found that if you keep the kitchen faucet running hot water for the duration of the shower, it helps the water heater to stay on and therefore provide a more consistent temperature for the shower. The days of showers before we figured that out were pretty rough though. My kids dreaded having to get in there.
Keep in mind that it is small and fairly old. There is no dishwasher. The linoleum is worn in spots and the whole place has an old beach house rental feel. If the weather would have been bad and we would have had to spend more time inside, I doubt that we'd have had as nice a time.
This is a great camp very clean and all the room you need for a group of 6. It is close to many activities and has very nice water frontage. Highly recommend.
What a great place to stay! The location is perfect. Secluded and private...but a short drive or walk to 'town'.
My wife and I brought our two year old daughter and we had a great time. My daughter loved the "cave" beds (bunk beds) and especially loved the property. The beach was perfect for her to play on and the yard was a great size to run around on.
Inside was super clean and organized. While it's not a huge place, we didn't go there planning to spend our time inside, so that was not a big deal. My wife and I stayed out on the new deck with the queen sized futon, which was awesome. Very nice to wake up to those views every morning.
Lastly, Michelle was great. She checked on us the day we arrived and left, but also the morning after a massive wind storm blew in. She and her family cleaned up the beach (blown in lake weeds) and made sure we were ok.
Overall, this place was perfect. If we make it up to VT again, we will definitely stay here.
We are located in 'The Islands' of Vermont, just off of U.S. Route 2. Take Interstate 89 to Exit 17 and go east on U.S. Route 2 (toward Grand Isle). Follow for approximately 6 miles, continue over the causeway onto South Hero, continue for another 1.5 miles into the village of South Hero. Cross South Street/Hill Street and go another block, making a right at McGregor's Pharmacy onto Wally's Point Road. Stay to the right on Wally's Point Road and continue to the end. We are the last cabin on the left. It is has tan vinyl siding and a large two story garage to the left of it with matching siding. You are located on the east shore of Keeler's Bay with lovely westerly views over the bay.
