About Bob or Bea Kable
My name is Bob Kable. My wife, Bea, and I came to Costa Rica on our honeymoon in 1998 and loved the country and people so much we decided to make it our permanent home. We lived in the Pacific NW in Yakima WA before we moved to Costa Rica. I am a retired firefighter and Bea was a RN for many years. We bought two hundred acres in 1998 and dedicated a portion of it to a private wildlife reserve. We developed hiking trails through the reserve that our guests are welcome to enjoy. Bea has been involved in animal rescue and is the go to person when someone finds an injured critter or has a sick pet. One of her more recent adventures involved 2 of the neighbor's dogs and a porcupine. I love hiking in the rainforest and spend a lot of my spare time making new trails. We live near the rental house and are available if our guests need anything..Having lived here for 16 years, we are very familiar with the area and are happy to help with tours and suggestions for local activities.
Bob or Bea Kable purchased this House in 1998
Why Bob or Bea Kable chose Savegre
Seabreeze has a unique blend of so much of what one comes to Costa Rica to see, feel, and experience. The journey up the mountain to get here is best understood once you are here. What awaits you is peace and tranquility, spectacular mountain and ocean views, a host of wild life critters, with frequent visits by monkeys, toucans, and many species of birds....oh, let's not forget the parrots...wink, wink...they will sing to you in the morning. Yes..... Seabreeze is that unique blend of luxury, comfort, nature, far enough away from everything and everyone yet close enough to all that you need as you venture off for the day. We love Seabreeze for all of these reasons and we are sure you will too.

We enjoyed a spectacular week at Seabreeze Casa. The home was beautiful and comfortable, and every bit as beautiful as the pictures. You absolutely need a 4WD vehicle to access the property - we got used to the drive during our stay, but it was a bit scary the first time we drove it. Bob gave us great directions and was kind enough to meet us on the highway and have us follow him in. We appreciated his suggestions on activities and his responsiveness to any question or need that arose.
One thing we didn't fully understand before our arrival was that the second bedroom in the "main house" is only accessible by the outside - this might be important for some families to consider when figuring out where everyone is going to sleep. The wi-fi didn't work in the lower-level room, so the person sleeping there would be disconnected from everyone else (which also could be a good thing!).
We enjoyed all of Bob's rescue animals, and our kids wanted to bring Bindi and Jenny home with us. One of the most memorable moments was meeting Casper the sloth - we were so grateful to Bob for sharing her with us!
Overall, we had a terrific time it was amazing to stay at Seabreeze Casa and experience the exceptional and memorable retreat created by Bob and Bea. Thank you!
Only 1 regret.. ok maybe 2.......
First regret NOT STAYING LONGER and NOT DOGNAPPING A FEW DOGS!!!!
Ok here we go- Amazing was an understatement. The trek up to this home was so worth it. Unbelievable property---Bob was an angel. We loved everything about this place and would return in a heartbeat. The rain showers made the por even better! There were 8 of us ranging from mid 50's to 16. The outdoor kitchen was incredible for cooking our beautiful fresh fish and breakfast. The house was perfectly appointed and beautiful. We had a visit from Casper -that we are all still smiling about. The pack of dogs made us miss ours less- and we even had Jenny the white husky and Bindi the mix stay with us at the house all week. It was a magical experience to be in such a beautiful country. Friendly people. We were quite active everyday and I wished we could have stayed to enjoy the house more....lots of things have been checked off the bucket list....Ziplining, kayaking in the mangroves and the Jungle ATV- NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!!!! Don't miss out on this great property and an awesome experience at Seabreeze...we also loved Dominical and enjoyed Fuego a few times...…We highly recommend this property you will not be disappointed...leave with no regrets. Thanks for everything Bob and the to your pack. It was a trip of a lifetime. PS Don't ignore Pepe the parrot he will talk your ear off...….Thanks again!! The Connecticut Crew
Family Vacation May 2019
Casa Seabreeze was even more beautiful than we visioned, we were speechless of the beautiful Villas, pool and scenery. Bob was kind enough to meet us at the highway to let us follow him up the mountain to Casa Seabreeze. Everyday was an exciting adventure and even though the rainy season was upon us we made the best of everyday. The outdoor kitchen was a favourite as well as the overhang so we could sit outside and not get wet. The pool was the biggest hit along with Casper the sloth. The dogs also made for great companionship and made us feel safe at night. Bob was very helpful with anything we needed and a few times came to check up on us. Our family vacation was one that we will not forget. Thank you Bob for Sharing Casa Seabreeze with our family. We definitely were spoiled.
This was a our second time staying and it did not disappoint! We love this place from the owners Bob & Bea who are truly wonderful people to the spot on the top of the world where you see all the best sunsets to the birds to the dogs we sure do miss you Jenny, Bindi, Ali-gator and rest of the pack. It's a special place it just has that something. My first text upon arrival to my daughter was a picture of the sun beginning to set and the words...I'm HOME!
The view, the scenery, the wildlife, the amenities, the pool... this villa has it all!! Wonderful location for access to beaches, national parks, and other areas of interest. Safe and secure. Bob and Bea make for terrific hosts. This is one of the best homes we’ve rented, anywhere.
From the first time I saw pictures of Seabreeze Casa, I knew I needed to stay there. All the reviews were outstanding so we booked it. There were four of us (2 couples) and there was certainly room for more. The layout of the main house and villa gave us all plenty of privacy and the best part is that we both had an incredibly beautiful master suite. All the amenities were above and beyond and the outdoor kitchen was where we prepared our meals. Even though there were tv's in each room the real show was the natural beauty all around. The sights and sounds were relaxing and exactly what we were hoping for. From the monkeys who visited several times during the week to the sloth, lizards and birds, we were in paradise. And then there the sunsets every night! The night sky was incredible when you turned off all the lights. The best place to enjoy the night sky is in the pool so be sure to let the sounds of nature wake you up to get out there to enjoy it.
Bob was an remarkable host from the first email I sent to him. His responses were almost immediate and he not answered my questions each time, but provided more information to help me along the way. As a result, we enjoyed our week immensely. He checked in to make sure we had everything we needed but in a way that we hardly knew he was even on the same property. He even scheduled a visit from Casper, the sloth that he and Bea rescued. We got to see a wild sloth on the property as well as on some of our hikes, but to see one up close and personal gave us a better appreciation for this tree-dwelling mammal. There are also rescue horses and lots of dogs on the property as well.
Even though one never needs to leave Seabreeze Casa, we did because it was our first trip to Costa Rica and we wanted to explore. None of us are big cooks either so we visited some great restaurants ( but we did cook more than usual for any of us because of the great outdoor kitchen and eating area). Some of the favorites were, The Happy Lobster (translate it to Spanish and know it's a small local place with really fresh fish); The Beehive (our absolute favorite place between the food, staff and ambiance); The Dome (same owner as the Beehive but just a small breakfast/lunch spot in Uvita that has great food) and The Fusion in Uvita.
Four wheel drive is a must but it's so worth being at the end of this mountain road in paradise. Book now and enjoy your stay.....we did!
Dominical is the closest town to Seabreeze Casa and has some of the best surfing and eco-tourism activities in the world. Haciendo Baru is close by. It is a 900 acre National Wildlife Refuge that offers canopy tours, zip lines, bird watching, and nature walks lead by trained naturalist guides. The Nayaca waterfall horseback tour is possibly the most popular tour in the Dominical area. We highly recomend it.To the north 25 miles is Manual Antonio National Park with beautiful beaches and lots of monkeys to watch. Ten miles south is Ballena National Marine Park with miles of beach and great snorkeling. Fishermen will have a choice of excellent river, surf, inshore, or deep sea fishing. Sea kayak tours are a fun way to explore sea caves and view wild life in the mangroves. Without leaving Seabreeze Casa you will be able to meet Stitch the raccoon and see white face monkeys twice a day when they pass by. Toucans and parrots can be seen daily near the house and the adjoining 75 acre nature reserve is teaming with exotic bird, animal, and plant life.
Other Activities: Canopy tours, white water rafting, zip-line, reptile zoo, fishing, diving/snorkeling, surfing, hiking
Golf: Los Suenos Resort and Marina near Jaco has a beautiful course and is 1.5 hours away. A new course is open about 45 min south of Dominical. Repilandia is a fascinating reptile attraction 7 km from the house.
