Guestbook comments from the owner

A group of 15 friends decided to head up to Killington, VT for New Years 2010. I expected this to be a fun trip but it turned out to be the best New Year's that any of us has ever had. My family has been going up to Killington since I was 5 years old so I knew, geographically, where I wanted us to be - close to the mountain, close to food shopping, close to bars and restaurants. The Tuck-it-Inn had all of this and more. When you walk in, your first thought is, "Wow, this is a lot of space!" The kitchen area is extremely spacious, which is great for a large group (and all of the appliances work!). The bedrooms are great and there wasn't anyone without a bed in our group. The hot-tub jacuzzi in the backyard was clutch for post-skiing therapy. You could walk to Pizza Jerks (great local pizzeria) and two of the better bars in Killington, Jax and Pickle Barrel. If you call a Killington Taxi/shuttle service, they know exactly where you are and aren't confused by some obscure address in the middle of the woods. You're literally right on the main drag. Plenty of parking in the driveway for a fleet of cars so you don't have to worry about blocking the early risers who are headed to the mountain for first tracks.

Overall, I don't think there is much more you can ask from a home or a New Year's experience than the one we had at the Tuck-it-Inn. Thanks Joe!

Great place to stay for a big group

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time here in June. The weather was just right. We utilized the big kitchen area for group dinners and also the outside grill. One night we sat by the nice size fire pit and relaxed. Beautiful deck for outside seating so as to enjoy some early morning reading which was relaxing. Nice walk to the market down the road.. We even got to see a bear while we stayed here.. Overall fully functionable home for our large group which made our stay easy. The basement was nice and cool and our kids had a blast playing ping pong. Thanks again!

Exceeded my expectation

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for our second annual Vermonster trip. For a group of 16 it's not easy to find an affordable place to stay for everyone that accommodates our group size. Just like all the other reviews say 16 people can comfortably sleep eat and shower with little problems with four showers. Joe was very helpful from answering questions to maintaining a clean house. Even in offseason for the area there was a bar down the street and the deck is perfect for grilling and enjoying the beautiful Vermont mountains. Overall by far the nicest home away from home for large groups no matter the time of year even though it's a "ski house".

Amazing Location - close to mountain and nightlife

  • 5 of 5

We had a phenomenal time at the Tuck It Inn! The house slept our group of 16 comfortably; the giant eat-in kitchen and TV area were perfect for family-style meals and relaxing after a day at the mountain. Everything was clean and ready for us upon arrival; the game room is awesome and the porch has great views of the mountains! Joe was so awesome to coordinate with - very easy to get a hold of and quick to answer any questions we had! He made the whole booking process simple and straightforward, which for a first-time renter put me at ease immediately! The house is right off the main access road, within walking distance to popular bars and restaurants and just a short drive to the mountain. This is the perfect house for a getaway with friends - we can't wait to get back next year! :)

Awesome House! Perfect for large groups. Close to mountain and night life

  • 5 of 5

Our group recently stayed at the Tuck It Inn for a long weekend and it was the perfect house for our needs. We had a large group (16 people) and this house had the perfect accommodations. Walking distance from several bars and carryout food options including the Pickle Barrel and a short shuttle ride from the Wobbly Barn. Right off the main access road, we were able to drive to the mountain in less than 5 minutes. Huge parking pad which was great as we had people coming from several different cities. Our group especially enjoyed the huge kitchen table and bar in the main living area. Along with a great HD flat screen tv and an impressive collection of DVD's. We had an absolute blast staying at the Tuck It Inn and we will definitely be returning in the future!

Great for large groups!

  • 5 of 5

We recently rented the Tuck It Inn resort for a buddy’s bachelor party and the stay was awesome! The house had a great open living/dining area where all of us hung out and enjoyed the bar, huge kitchen table and excellent living room area, equipped with a new large screen TV.

The house is located right near the access road and had tons of parking for all of our guests who drove up. We could also literally walk to the Pickle Barrel and a few other bars from the house.

Joe is a fantastic host, and ensured that the house was in great shape for our group. There were plenty of bathrooms and a great game room. I highly recommend this house for anyone with a large group who want comfortable accommodations close to all the action in Killington.

Lots of room in a premium location!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Tuck It Inn located just off the main access road to Killington Resort. This place is in a premium location, very close to the most popular restaurants and night spots, and 5 minutes away from the main ski lodge and lifts. I visited with a total of 12 people, which is just about the right amount for this place, although it will sleep a few more as advertised. They have a brand new deck extension off the side of the home, leading down to a hot tub and fire pit area. It's pretty nice inside, with a sort of nostalgic lodge feel you might expect from a ski lodge. There's lots of space on the main floor for mingling and sharing a large group meal together. Downstairs is the main sleeping area with a few rooms containing a double bed and bunk beds. They also have a game room with a ping pong table, which caused the group of 12 to spread out a bit. I would also say that the owners are some of the nicest people I have ever rented from before. I spoke and emailed with Joe and Sheri a number of times, not only to provide information on the place, but to also to encourage us to make the Inn our home for the duration of our stay. They're really nice. Overall, we had a GREAT time and will try to come back next year (if you haven't already secured our dates) !
