Cascade Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Welcome!

Don't miss the turning colors of the trees! Walking on the many trails in the woods that surround us is the best during this time of year.

Road America is 11 miles from this private lake community. Elkhart Lake along with the infamous Kohler golf courses are 14 miles from our lake. Lake Michigan is just 20 miles from the cabin.

My husband built this long house style cabin in 2003, for our family. It is the perfect place to bring your family and spend time having fun and relaxing together. The cabin is bright and enveloping. Take some time to read, to rest, to hike, to swim, to play games, and to spend time together.

The community consists of 10 vacation homes. All our neighbors are considerate and are there for the same reasons we are; to get away and enjoy the peaceful beauty with our families. You will love the rustic feel of the cabin and yet, it has all the necessary amenities of home.

It is fabulous! Walk the cut trails through the woods and prairie, watch for deer, owls, and the waterfowl on the creek. This one of a kind place is something you must experience, we are sure you will want to return year after year. We look forward to meeting you.

It is important to us that our home meets your standards, please take the time to pick up prior to leaving, it will help us with the next guest's preparations.

Mike and I live in Hyde Park (Chicago) and our daughters live in Milwaukee just 55 minutes south of the cabin. Mike Is working at University of Chicago. We all enjoy the outdoors; Mike with a passion for golfing and I enjoy outdoor photography and gardening. We have four family dogs; one Welsh Corgie (Rosie) and German Shepherd (Maya) our daughter Victoria's Beagle (Olive) and Claudia's Border Collie/Shepherd (Penny Lane). Having the cabin offers all of us the opportunity to spend quality time together, have fun and relax.

Mike built this 1000 sq ft cabin for our family in 2003 and it is absolutely one of the best things we did for our family and friends.

We hope you enjoy yourselves as much as our family does.

Why Dawn Knitter chose Wisconsin

This property is unique. Don't miss an opportunity to spend some time at The Cabin. It is impossible to describe, our visitors are always surprised with what they see no matter how much we try to describe it them. It is a one of a kind and everyone who has visited or stayed with us loves it.

What makes this cabin unique

Imagine driving on a county highway in rural Wisconsin, passing farms with acres of open farmland, passing through small towns that are not even a mile long and then turning down a gravel road, being greeted by the beautiful cows at the top of the road and continuing a short distance to find an ornate gate leading into The Willows. Upon entering you will see beautiful rustic cabins and homes with a picturesque spring fed lake directly in front of you. The remainder of the property cannot be adequately described, you must see it. This is a friendly private community that you will want to return to.

Summer Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family vacation at the Knitter Cabin was very relaxing. We had 8 people but there was always space for everyone. Dawn met us on arrival and is a fantastic hostess. We enjoyed our time at their lake as well as the short day trips to Elkhart Lake and Sheboygan.

The most relaxing vacation we have ever taken!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at the Knitter's Cabin last week and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! The house is spotless and had everything that we could possibly need and then some. Dawn, and her sweet niece Gracie, were there to greet us and were very gracious hostesses! Dawn provided us with information about the area (restaurants, hospitals, grocery stores, etc.) and also gave us directions on how to get there. We loved cruising around the lake in the many boats they have, jumping on the lake trampoline and fishing for hours. She was right on about the neighborhood. Everyone is very social and so are their dogs! We felt right at home the entire time. We took one day to explore around the area. We traveled to Lake Michigan at Sheboygan and also did a little shopping in Milwaukee. Thank you to the Knitter's for an unforgettable vacation for our family! We will be back!!

Family Vacation at the lake

  • 5 of 5

This was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had as a family. The 6 of us had a great time swimming and fishing at the lake and hiking around the trails. One suggestion is to bring your own food, as there is not a large selection of restaurants in the immediate area.

My wife and I along with ...

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I along with our 3 young children enjoyed our fall weekend. The cabin is a unique mix of rustic and modern, very comfortable, and provided all of the amenities that we expected. Although we could not swim because of the temps, the lake looked very clean and had some sandy beaches that would be great for small kids to play and swim. We would recommend this cabin for a family stay.

Notes:
This cabin built in 2003, has a full kitchen with all necessary cooking items. It includes a table that can seat 12. It is extremely bright and friendly. There is an enclosed bedroom with queen bed, a lofted bedroom with 2 trundle beds, one can be made into a king bed, and the living room has a new queen sofa bed. All linens are provided. The deck is the place to spend the day relaxing and the patio area is great for grilling and includes a table for 6. When it cools down, there is plenty of wood for the patio fire pit..enjoy a glass of wine and don't forget the smores. This lake is spring fed and absolutely beautiful to swim in or float around and relax. This is a NO motor lake community. There are a number of dogs around and they do visit through out the day. This is an incredibly fun yet relaxing atmosphere; come and experience it.
