The jaw dropping view from all 3 levels of -Halfway to Heaven- is one of the very best in Northeast Georgia. The drive up the mountain is paved the entire way. We can accommodate up to 7 adults. With over 2,000 sq. ft. of living space, you'll have plenty of room to relax!
Our home is non-smoking. You must be 25 or older to rent, loud parties please look elsewhere. Pets are accepted only after approval. In general, we allow house-trained, inside dogs that do not bark excessively. There is a $50 non refundable pet fee.

We love Rabun county and the mountains of Northeast Georgia!
Our mountaintop location is quiet and serene, with breathtaking views of the southern end of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
There are many outdoor activities to do here, including hiking, boating, fishing, biking, and golfing. If shopping is what you are looking for, look no further. Downtown Clayton has plenty of boutiques to browse through and if you are looking for antiques, Butler Galleries has all that and more! We are only 5 minutes from Downtown Clayton, but our townhouse is located on the opposite side of the mountain from town, and provides you with a view of the Chattahoochee National Forest that is mostly devoid of human presence. There is no better way to top off an adventure filled day than to enjoy a glass of locally grown wine from one of the decks at Halfway to Heaven!
This place is beautiful. The views were amazing and the new owners have done several upgrades to the place. They were very nice and responsive. Went on several hikes and saw some amazing waterfalls. The restaurants were amazing.
I stayed at Halfway to Heaven while helping with the wildfires in November/December 2016. I wasn't sure how many nights I would be staying and Jason worked with me and was completely flexible. The bed was very comfortable. The house was clean and immaculate. I'll be bringing my family back as soon as we can. Thanks, Jason!
We have been to Halfway to Heaven twice. It is a beautiful, well stocked condo with room and "space" for adults. We had my husband and myself and our 2 sons and fiances. We had lots of "together" time but plenty of room for down time or relaxing away from the crowd if needed. The views are magnificent and location convenient for going downtown or finding places to hike (which is our main interest.)
We highly recommend touring the Tiger Mtn winery. We did not know if we had time but decided to try even though it was a holiday weekend and very close to closing time. They were very hospitable and took their time to talk about the wines and let us sample. It was worth the trip.
We decided we wanted to cook at the condo for Thankgiving and the kitchen had enough dishes and cooking utensils for us to have a real turkey dinner. There was nothing else we could have asked for- even found an insulated turkey gravy boat for serving! We also brought games with us but the condo has plenty of them if you leave yours at home.
We all had computers and internet service was a little slow. Also there are tvs everywhere but we had difficulty figuring out how to use them or get more than 1 or 2 channels. We did not miss tv or internet but if that is important to you, be forewarned.
Overall this is one of the nicest places we have stayed in for a family get together. We appreciate the flexibility in that you can stay for a few days or an entire week, unlike some vacation rentals which require a minimum of a week or require you to rent from within a prescribed time frame. Note it is at the very top of Screamer Mtn...if it is your first time, drive carefully and keep going up. We wondered if there was danger of snow or ice in Nov. and there was none to speak of but if there had been I would not attemt to drive up.
We love the mountains of Rabun county and will be back. This place is a good choice and is as nice as it seems in the pictures.
Enjoyed the views, Jason was very responsive! Would love to stay here again.
We have stayed at Halfway To Heaven for a week three times, and the four of us agree it is the best place in Rabun County to stay! The home is very well kept, with everything you need for an extended stay! We have a trip to Ingles before the drive up the day we arrive and could stay the entire week on the items the 4 of us get,but we venture out on the second day!! We do this each time we go.We all enjoy Rabun County and everything it has to offer. The great covered porch and decks have the most beautiful views of sunrises and mountains you will find in North Georgia.(Our ages range from 48 to 69)
The townhouse is very nice - at the top of Screamer Mountain. The area is quiet and peaceful. First ride up there (thankfully on all paved roads) was challenging because we didn't know the way, although described very well by Jason. On the way down we were surprised how short and easy it really was! The kitchen was the best stocked of any of the many rentals we have been in. The master room bed was most comfortable.
The cell service faded in and out so we were grateful that the house phone was available for our use locally and long distance.
Of the 3 televisions, only the one in the living room was working and it could not be muted or the sound lowered to a tolerable level. Jason was called but nothing was done about fixing the TVs. One afternoon, there was a problem with very low water pressure and after calling the 3 numbers posted on the refrigerator to contact in such a case and getting no response, Jason was called. He said he would look into it and call us back. By the middle of the night the water was restored and we had no further problems; however, we did not get a call back from Jason which would have been appreciated.
All in all, it is a great place to stay. Be sure to eat at Mama G's and drive up to Highlands, NC.

Chattooga river excitement is minutes from our door, along with Tallulah Falls, Black Rock and Moccasin Creek State Parks. There are 5 lakes in Rabun county with boat rentals available. The Foxfire museum is close by and definitely worth a visit. The Bartram trail, Appalachian trail, Chattooga River trail and many other outstanding hiking trails are nearby. Trout fishing, mountain biking, horse riding, golf ... so much to do, so little time!
We are only 45 minutes away from Cherokee, NC, if gambling interests you!
