About Rebecca Lawley
The Nest is a much loved holiday home, enjoyed by the whole family (including our labrador Molly) throughout the year. We are a musical family and have been visiting Aldeburgh since the Festival was established in the 70's. We are delighted to welcome you to our home and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we do!
Rebecca Lawley purchased this Apartment in 2008
Why Rebecca Lawley chose Aldeburgh
The Nest offers a perfect bolt-hole for those looking for a peaceful retreat, and the perfect location for those keen to explore the great pubs, restaurants and towns on the Suffolk Coast. For dog walkers we particularly recommend the Aldeburgh marshes (2 mins away).

Bright and Comfortable
This property has a small bathroom and kitchen and stairs up to it. That said it was no problem and very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The bedrooms and sitting room are bright and very comfortable. The raised bay windows beautiful. A wonderful supply of books to suit any taste. The sea is a 5 minute walk max: and restaurants, food, book, gift shops also within 1-5 minutes walk. Parking a five minute walk on one of the many side streets. Our family who live in UK saw it and hope to book in the future. Barbara Matthews. Canada
Lovely and cosy close to beach nice shops
Perfectly located cosy flat
Pretty, cosy little flat next door to a fantastic bakery and a couple of minutes from the sea front. We loved it - thank you!
Great Holiday Apartment
We all really enjoyed our holiday at The Nest. Never have we stayed so close to beach and shops. Although very central noise was never a problem, just lovely sound of seagulls. We were always able to find parking close to the property.
The apartment was perfectly equipped, we cooked several meals and wanted for nothing. The kitchen is compact but had a lovely french feel to it and added bonus of giving me a excuse to stay out and let husband do all the cooking. No need to bring a book, the property has a fantastic collection and my only regret is that I didn't have long enough to read more of them.
Aldeburgh itself is charming and has a lovely quiet beach and nice little shops. We enjoyed several meals out and had no difficulty finding places that accommodated children and dogs, the Cross Keys pub being our favorite.
The owner has been very quick to answer all our queries and has been helpful giving us all the information we have asked for. I would not hesitate to stay again (and read those books!)
We loved our stay of 10 days at The Nest on the High Street! Two lovely bedrooms, both with windows; interesting small sink beside the big sink in the kitchen (put hot water and soap in the small one and rinse water in the large one); much appreciated gifts to welcome us (coffee was excellent); lovely claw-footed bath tub (SO comfortable); very clean, beautifully furnished; very quiet; always found a parking space within two or three streets from the flat; fabulous set of china-ware (Corona something) that we loved using; great pots and pans; lots of good books, though we never had time to read any, we went to 20 concerts at the Aldeburgh Music Festival in 7 days!!!); watched Brexit happen on the nice TV!; really felt at home and loved having our wine and cheeses sitting on the matching sofas; even found the bins at the back of the houses, where we could put our garbage and recycle paper etc; recycled our wine bottles along the street (South, on the left);had great weather, when it rained we did not need to be out; cooked wonderful fish and seafood from the fishing huts on the beach; loved the Co-op for groceries, so close; useful having a comment sheet; only ate out at the festival venues (!); have I left anything out?????
Thank you so very much for your wonderful flat! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The Aldeburgh Music festival was ABSOLUTELY wonderful; we soaked all that fabulous music up and could not have been happier to have been there.
Thank you so much for your kind comments, I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay!
With very best wishes
We stayed at The Nest for 2 nights in January 2015. From the moment I received my first email back from Rebecca, I knew that it was going to be perfect for our escape to the seaside. Rebecca responded to email and texts quickly and is incredibly approachable.
My husband and I stayed at The Nest with 2 teenage boys and our Yorkie-Poo, Rocky. For the grown-ups, it was perfect. The location was right in the centre of the High Street which meant that I could nip out to the January sales (Jack Wills, Joules and Fat Face), we had one of the world's best fish and chip shops across the street and the beach was steps away. For the teenagers, of course, they had the beach and the fish and chips but the fast wifi (sadly) was a huge plus. We all loved the selection of boardgames and DVD selection.
The Nest was super warm and cosy and even though it was January we had no need to turn on the gas coal effect fire. The beds were super comfy and the bedding crisp and clean (hotel style). The only things that are worth mentioning and are in Rebecca's description, is that it is two double beds, I have to admit that my boys weren't best pleased with sharing a bed (I hadn't told them about the sleeping arrangements prior to arriving - naughty mother!) but they got over it. The other thing is that the kitchen is tiny which was fine for us as I am the only one who frequents that area!
Overall, we had a fabulous time and will recommend The Nest to friends and family. Thank you Rebecca for the most wonderful stay and we will be back for sure.
