This comfortable property combines activity and relaxation in a perfect way in one of Switzerland's most favourite destinations.
Its clean, its in a great position, its quiet and it is a very special place with lots of charme!! A home from home; toys, mountain bikes, games, lots of pantry items - all there and ready to be used!
Detached, entire Chalet with private garden, surrounded by nature and farms and peaceful space to breathe!
Our experience was wonderful the photos don't do justice to the beautiful location and views from the house. It was really nice to be in the country away from the town and the train was right at the bottom of the rather steep hill since we didn't have a car. Everything was very comfortable and nicely outfitted we hope to return!
It was a good stay , the view was on point , everything was organised , we will hopefully visit it in the upcoming years .
This was the perfect place for our family of 2 adults and 4 children (ages 13, 13, 10, and 8). The place was immaculate when we arrived and well thought out in its preparation. We have stayed at many self service rentals in Europe and this one was one of the best equipped and thought out. It was a soft place to land after long days hiking. It felt like home. From the individual packs of facial tissue (who does that?) to the sterno fuel for fondue this was simply an outstanding place. The location was great: we love staying outside of the towns in the hills/mountains but still very close to Grindewald, Lauterbunnen and Interlaken.
When not out enjoying the beautiful area, our kids enjoyed the Play Station, trampoline, Harry Potter and other books in English, games, and movies. We had a couple of very rainy days and it was easy to spend them together at the home. Thanks for thinking of them.
We have not stayed here in the winter but the private road to the home is steep and tight but due-able in the summer with room to park the mini-van.
Two full bathrooms was a big plus with easy to use showers and great water pressure and plenty of hot water for all six of us to take a shower. The couches in the living rooms were the coziest we have had in all our rentals and the kitchen table easily accommodated all six of us.
Claudia was an great host. She was responsive to all our questions and made it easy from beginning to end.
We hope to come back next year.
Our family of five (2 adults and three children ages 6, 10 & 11) had an amazing stay at this wonderful chalet just outside of Grindelwald. The home is very well appointed and beautifully decorated and updated. Claudia is an absolute pleasure to work with and extremely kind and helpful. We had a wonderful time exploring the surrounding area - hiking, climbing, running, biking - it was incredible! Since this chalet is located just outside of Grindelwald you are able to get away from the crowds and noise of the busy tourist season and really relax. It is so nice after a long day of hiking to sit on the patio in the quiet of the valley and take in the beautiful views which surround the home. We had a car which made accessing the town, grocery, etc easier but we also spent an entire day using only the train to get around and found this to be quite easy as well. The train station at Burglauenen is only a 10 minute walk away (although a little steep on the walk back up the driveway). We are looking forward to visiting this charming vacation home again!
We had a wonderful stay at the Chalet! Good location between Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen. Everything went well and I would definitely recommend the Chalet. I would not recommend it for the elderly (steep driveway and difficult to park, w/d downstairs in the basement area with a walk outside to access) or persons without cars (we had our car with us and drove everyday). I would definitely recommend it for a romantic get away (which is why we were there). The view is not as dramatic as staying right in Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen but it is much less crowded! Claudia took care of everything we needed and was very responsive!
Nice stay into a house fitted for 4 people. Clean and charming house. Owner was very receptive and I would recommend this property to people who would like to discover the beauty of hiking in the Swiss mountains. The view from the house is stunning as well.
