Excellent Experience!

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at this cabin was wonderful! Dealing with the owner prior to arrival went smooth. It was beautifully decorated and very clean. The cabin was completely furnished from the kitchen to the bathrooms, and every room in between. The pool table and air hockey table were excellent for entertaining the kids in the evenings. The views from the deck, morning and evening, were amazing. The trip was so terrific, we are planning to go back to the Smokies soon. Hopefully we will be able to stay here again. The only reason we are giving it a four star rating is because of the hornets that were flying around the cabin while we were there. There were a couple traps outside the home, which meant the owner was aware of this issue and never mentioned to us before arriving. We experienced them dive bombing us as we would try to enter the front door or while trying to enjoy the deck. My teenagers were afraid to go outside without an adult. The other issue was the jetted tub in the master bedroom. The drain plug didn't have a good seal on it so it was very difficult to enjoy.

Cozy cabin and great views. Beautiful sunsets.

  • 4 of 5

The pictures were representative of the cabin. Reviews were helpful. Easy entrance direct from paved parking. Kitchen track lighting a little dark at night. Occasional water smell. Bring bottled water for coffee and cooking. Comfy king bed sits high but step was provided. Balcony on each level; hanging porch swing upper balcony. Hot tub on lower balcony. Doors to hot tub balcony from living room and king bedroom main level. Upstairs loft bedroom very bright from morning sun. Enjoyed gas fireplace (one hour auto off dial). Road is paved, a few twists but very short drive off Wears Valley road. Owner Steve very responsive and great to work with. We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary.

Great Family cabin, Close to pigeon Forge, Nice Views, Clean and quiet too!!!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed in September 2016 (check dates for car shows, they stay the entire week between shows, EXTREME TRAFFIC) Really pretty nice cabin was clean, Close to the middle of pigeon forge which is great for kids, shopping and eating out.Going past the alpine coasters at night is an awesome thing to see and to ride, really a cool experience. Kitchen was fully stocked with all pots pans and utensils and all in great condition.Plenty of tv's in cabin Big tv down stairs is nice, Nice couches and furniture,Comfy beds both up and downstairs, Didn't use jacuzzi tub cant comment on that. Hot tub was nice. Kids liked the upstairs loft and felt like their own suite.

The owner Steve is a super nice guy and he will go above and beyond to take care of your requests, problems and questions.

2 Things I didn't really like:

1 The charcoal grill, It is not in the best of shape and its kind of in a weird place and it slants down hill, I would love it if the owner put in a gas grill on the porch, would be awesome, But not a deal breaker, it did make make burgers and steak, Just kind of a hassle trying to buy charcoal and a lighter and some fluid.

2 The tv's needed batteries and reprogrammed to the appropriate tv, Just had to grab about 6 batteries or so from the store, I know they cant check batteries every time someone leaves. Just kind of a pickle getting online and figuring out how to do it. Its really a non issue just a heads up if anything to bring some extra AA and AAA in case.

With those 2 minor inconveniences if you would call them that, This cabin is definitely worth a stay, The roads to and from the cabin are wide and it is easily found on a gps.I will stay again for sure.

Great Location

  • 2 of 5

We stayed in the cabin from Jan 13-16, 2017. First a few positives: The cabin is located in an ideal spot, far enough away to give you the secluded feeling but only a few minutes from the Pigeon Forge Parkway. There are houses on each side of the cabin but the way it is positioned you don't see them from the back decks where the hot tub is. Secondly a few negatives: the cabin was not very well cleaned when we arrived. There were cobb webs in the cabinets and in the corners of every room/ceiling rafters. The sheets on the master bedroom had several stains on them. The water smelled like sulfur very badly, to the point we had to use bottled water to brush our teeth. The drain in the whirlpool tub in the master bedroom (one of the main reasons we booked this cabin) was broken and we had to use a rag to stop the tub from losing water. My wife was not very happy about this. The hot tub seemed like it hadn't been cleaned recently, the walls and bottom were extremely slick, like it had a thin layer of algae in it. I sent the owner a message about the above negatives with not much concern in his response. He did say he was having a family medical situation but still didn't seem to care too much about the problems at the cabin. If the issues listed were fixed, this would be perfect for two families who wanted seclusion and closeness to town.

Josh from Alabama.

Owner's Response: I always appreciate guest coming to the mountains for a beautiful experience , I asked the guest as always when they checked in after 24 hours was everything ok , He stated quote(We made it . It's Super Nice. Thanks again . The spider webs in cabins are always a problem , you can take them down and they will be right back the next day , as for the hot tub , they used it the first night and apparently used lotion causing the film on the sides , the Hot tubs in any Cabin are required to be cleaned. The drain in the Jacuzzi tub was previously fixed and was never mentioned by the guest , now has been fixed again, he did say something about the hot tub only the next day I sent someone to check this , and lastly I was in with my Mother in Law which is terminal and I really hate to put this on here , I told the guest this , but I understand my guest expect things immediately . I thank the lord a above that we have been blessed just to see the beautiful mountain area , I have learned that I can't fix everything for everyone, but I do try if I know about it.

Great cabin but.....................

  • 3 of 5

The cabin is nicely decorated and in a great location. However it needs a little TLC. The jacuzzi does not hold water (can be used if a washcloth is stuffed around the drain plug and the water is run continuously), the pool cues are broken, the hot tub jets are so weak it's not worth using, some type of rodent is running around in the ceiling and the water has a very strong sulfur smell and taste. The windows, cobwebs and dusty decorations need cleaning. The house is beautiful and could be so much better if these things were improved.

The fall foliage was beautiful. We went to several Christmas show which were excellent. If you enjoy Christmas shows and decorations, it is a perfect time of year to visit the Smokey's!

Owner's Response: Anonymous wrote , owners Steve response, it was stated about the jacuzzi tub drain which was fixed while this guest was there , The sulper was from the water going through the hot water heater , This was also fixed while they was there, I sent someone up to this cabin 3 out of 4days , I think the guest probably needed someone to be on call constantly , The cabin was also cleaned of any spider webs while guest was there. Hope this answers any concerns that any other guest may want to know by seeing this review , please take a moment to check the other 20 reviews that were all positive. Thanks Steve

A wonderful cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is beautifully decorated and is very, very comfortable. My only suggestion is that a full length mirror be added somewhere and a small mirror in the main level bedroom. I was unable to get ready while my husband showered. Otherwise, our stay was just perfect!
