Enjoy spectacular, sweeping, unobstructed views of the Pacific from this spacious 1400 sq. ft. 8th floor two-bedroom, two-bath corner unit at the Mahana on Ka'anapali Beach - rated as one of the best beaches in the world.

Relax on the lanai or the circular sofa overlooking the ocean. Watch the sun set over the Pacific and the islands of Lanai and Molokai in front of you. And, Number 819 is a corner unit, enjoy the extra side view down the white sand beach towards Black Rock from the floor-to-ceiling wraparound windows. Only 20 yards from the beach, it's the ideal spot to see humpback whales, monk seals, or dolphins! You might even spot a sea turtle!

In the morning, swim in the Mahana's private oceanside pool, snorkel in the coral reef out front or stroll along the uncrowded sandy beach below you. In the evening, enjoy a few minutes in the spa under the stars and fall asleep to the sound of the waves lapping against the shore.

About Kathy

We both grew up by the sea, David in Ireland, Kathy in San Francisco and we always knew that however far away we moved from it, we would always come back. After we met in college, we traveled much of the world together, but it was Maui and the stretch of beach in front of the Mahana that captured our hearts. We first bought the condo next door to this one in 1977. Over the years, we returned to Maui and the Mahana for a month every summer. For our children, it was a second home. Now young adults, they still love coming back every chance they can. Once you have been to the Mahana, you’ll want to come back too!

Why Kathy chose Maui

We fell in love with the Mahana in 1977. We were walking along the beach. The sun was setting between the islands of Lanai and Molokai. It was the most amazing sight! We turned around and saw Mahana. We knew right then and there that we had to buy one of these beachfront homes. For us it was the view and the view and the view! We bought our first Mahana condo (#818) then. We bought another condo (#708) in 2001 and this one (#819) from long-term residents in 2004.

What makes this condo unique

For us it’s a home away from home. In winter we love watching the whales, in summer it’s the dolphins and turtles. I love getting up to see the dawn coming up over the ocean. My husband is mesmerized by the stars. We all enjoy walking or jogging on the beach, swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear blue water, exploring all the other nearby beaches, Kapalua Bay, Napili Bay, Fleming Beach, Honolua Bay. We also love going to the Farmers market for fresh papaya and mangos and finding local fish to grill back at the Mahana. It’s the majesty of the ocean and the mountains. It’s the trade winds and the friendly people. It’s something else, totally special that is just impossible to describe. You have to come to Maui and the Mahana and you will experience it yourself!

We had a most amazing week in this tropical paradise. The condo has everything we could possibly need. We will miss meals on the lanai, watching whales breach offshore, schools of dolphins parade by, and relaxed humans ambling down the beach below. We enjoyed snorkeling with turtles at Black Rock and just down the beach at Airport Park. A journey up the rugged northern tip of the island was filled with spectacular views, some nice hikes (the blowhole was impressive) and what is reportedly the best banana bread. We cooked in a lot, but highlights were two delicious meals at Mala and a fun lunch at Sea House in Napili. Thank you, Kathy and David, for sharing your comfortable and so well-equipped home with us. We hope to come back some day!

The property looks even better than the pictures at the website. Kathy and David are easy to work with and very accomodating. Lots of storage space and the unit is very well outfitted. The ocean front views looking out over Molokai and Lanai are gorgeous. Very easy to see whales during season. We've already booked next year......
