This very private, newer, 2900 square foot, two-story home is located on 150 feet of golden sand like- private beach (no public access nearby).The curving palm lined beach is the most beautiful beach I have seen. In my view---none better.
The house has many high quality features from granite counters, beamed great room, huge master bedroom, solid hickory cabinets, beautiful large mouldings, stainless steel appliances, gas range, plank and tile flooring, to even a wood burning fireplace for a cool night.
There are breathtaking ocean views from large windows in Every room. Rare is the day when you cannot spot turtles from the house and covered lanai which is 20 feet from this gorgeous beach. Here the song of the surf is yours. Watch the sun sink into the sea while relaxing with a drink.

We stayed at this house for 1 week in July 2007. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The views were fantastic and the house is very spacious. We were particularly impressed by the quality level of the kitchen equipment and furniture. We never felt like we were staying in a rental, felt more like staying in someone's home! One minor drawback is the beach access. We had no difficulties, however the stairs could be challenging for older adults.
We had a wonderful experience. This home has absolutely breathtaking views! We were really pleasantly surprised. Just a short walk to Waimea Bay and Hale'iwa, an absolutely adorable little beach town with lots of shops and great restaurants. We fell in love with the town. The home was stocked with comfortable linens, towels and beach mats/chairs. We left a few inexpensive boogie boards and a styrofoam ice chest for others to enjoy. Our children had a great time boogie boarding every morning. We enjoyed walks on the beach at night. We have so many great memories of our stay and hope to be able to stay again sometime. Jim, the owner, was great to work with and always responsive to my emails and calls. We just can't say enough about how awesome it was to be right on the beach!
I write this review with the risk of being called a complainer, but in all honesty I'm not and I will try to be as honest as possible. The house is in a beautiful location, right on the beach, with amazing views of surf, whales, and surfers. Those are the pros, now the cons. The house is in a state of disrepair, this was noted to the owner on the first day and he did come and tried to fix some problems but did not accomplish all. Some of the problems were: late entry to the house (big mess from prople before hand, aceptable), grass not cut, main deck was dirty with mold, soft spots from rotting wood underneath, screws sticking up so that you could cut feet or toes. Inside house there were some issues as well, most importantly for the first two days the fridge did not work properly, we had stocked up with food for our ten days and had to keep food in freezer to keep it safe enough to eat later. The ice maker did not work entire trip. Many lights and fans did not work. Leaking faucets in kitchen, which made for constant clean up. All in all small things that lead to not so happy campers. I would noramlly not write any review if I was not really happy, but in an e-mail to owner and and another company that he has his house rented with, did not respond, instead we called complainers in our first attempts to fix problems when we arrived, which upset our group more than anything. I will say it has a beautiful view and close to the beach, but pick a different house.
You can't get closer to the beach than this home. We stayed here with our two grade school age kids in July 2015. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to maintain a property this close to the ocean, and these owners have done it very well. The beds and furnishings are comfy and represented accurately by the photos. We cooked most of our meals instead of going out and had no problems finding anything we needed. The house did get warm in the evenings, on nights when the winds slowed, but the ceiling fans worked well to ventilate the upstairs bedrooms. Our kids loved playing in the waves and snorkeling a short walk up the beach in a sheltered area. Booking was an efficient process and our deposit was returned. We always give at least one idea for improvement so I'd say two things would be nice but not deal breakers- convert all of the sliding screen doors to magnetic screens (like the one on the north end) and a stronger outdoor shower to rinse off sand. Our family enjoyed the beach house and had so much fun with the beach and ocean as our backyard. This home is located in a great spot and we were able to get to all of our fun activities within 30 minutes maximum.
There are several great beaches within minutes of the house which have hardly any waves which is fantastic for kids. The ocean sound at night was wonderful!
Waimea Bay and Turtle beach (where we saw about 10 turtles) were within 5 minutes of the beach house. We also went into Haleiwa and enjoyed shave ice at Matsumoto's, paddled boarded up the river in Haleiwa and saw more turtles. There was so much to do besides the things we had planned out!

This house is situated on a beautiful beach between historic Haleiwa and Waimea Bay. When the tide is in, the waves lap literally only feet from the deck which is marvelous. The house is also only a few feet from the King Kamehameha highway and the traffic is really noisy in the bedrooms at night.
Guests must enter via the garage with a touchpad code. There is room for one car as the owner has his sports car stored in the other space. We were given the wrong code and couldn’t get in until his wife returned my call to give us the correct code. Make sure to have their phone number handy!
We enjoyed our stay and loved that all the rooms had ocean views. The beach is truly beautiful and the sunsets were breathtaking. We were able to swim to the right about 100 yards down the strand, and turtles played about 100 yards to the left. The setting is perfect. The house may be considered newer by Hawaii standards, but in 2015 it is in need of TLC.
Here are some things that travelers need to know before renting:
This property is listed as a three-bedroom venue, it really is a two bedroom with a very small extra room that could be used as a single or a nursery. The house could work for a family with little kids, but DEFINITELY not a house for three couples. After looking for an ocean front house that would accommodate three couples comfortably, we settled on this property. One of the couples couldn’t come and it was fortunate they didn’t because we would have been very embarrassed to offer them what is called the 3rd bedroom. (A bed in a room does not a bedroom make!)
The downstairs is large and comfortable with a modern kitchen with granite countertops that has a full size refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, disposal, and plenty of space. The ice- maker wasn’t working when we were there. A small metal fireplace is in the corner of the family room, but the wood provided is too large to fit in the fireplace. A bathroom with shower is next to the garage door. The deck and grass area outside are small but adequate. There was only one plastic lounge chair, and a few of the other plastic chairs were broken. New outdoor furniture is definitely needed.
The upstairs has a strange configuration: medium size bedroom next to the laundry room, shared hall bath with older shower/tub combo, comfortable huge master, plus tiny room/bedroom. No screens or blinds on windows- the bugs come in,no privacy with lights on. Tired bed covers need replacing. Ocean views.
All the many activities you have read about on the North Shore are available here but without the crowds and density of the famous surf locations.
