Perfect House and Very Clean!!!!
House was exactly what we were looking for and close proximity to Cedar Point. Sleeping arrangements were nice and very comfortable beds! Kitchen was very nice. All in all perfect!
Spacious and Clean!
We had a wonderful stay at this Old Homestead home. It was very spacious, clean and well equipped. We ate some meals in the home and found very nice restaurants nearby. The owner was very welcoming and gracious. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach and saw an eagle eating a fish while we were there. The neighborhood is great for biking. We traveled to Catawba for the short ferry ride to Put-in-Bay. This was a great location and we thoroughly enjoyed our short weekend. Thank you so much, Pam!
One of the best VRBO rentals we have ever booked!
We had nine of us - 7 adults and 2 little ones. This house was just perfect for our group! We have rented VRBO homes many times before, and this home was one of the best. Pam was easy to communicate with, and at the last minute, was even willing to work with us to stay an additional two nights, if needed. (It turned out we did not need to stay those two extra nights, but Pam was more than willing to accommodate us.) This home is well taken care of, and amply supplied. It is one of the few rental homes we have stayed in where we never ran out of simple amenities like toilet paper, kleenex, dish soap, paper towels, etc. Pam and Mark have gone the extra mile so that you do not have to worry about such matters. And it was nice that all of the light bulbs worked, and the electronics, the wifi, etc. Nothing was "out of order." If you have rented homes before, you know what I mean when I say that that is a nice touch! The house is roomy, and laid out in such a way that you can find a room for some peace and quiet, if desired. The neighborhood is nice, too. We stayed there in the middle of winter because we had scheduled a day visit to Castaway Bay in Sandusky for our grandson's birthday, before moving on to visit other family in Ohio. The house is about a 10 minute drive to Castaway Bay/Cedar Point. Since it was so bitter cold when we were there, we could not enjoy the lake, but it is a short walk from the home to a nice private beach with a view! I/we highly recommend this property!
Lovely spacious home within a short walk to the beach
Pam’s home was a perfect place for our weekend. It’s unusual to find homes at a reasonable price with five separate bedrooms, so we were especially glad for the privacy. It’s a short walk to a very nice beach, even in the off season. We enjoyed watching the bald eagles in flight down by the water.
The home is clean, the neighborhood was welcoming, and we enjoyed every part of our stay. Only thing I would mention to prospective renters is that if you are unused to trains all night long, bring some earplugs for sleeping. 😉
Three generations under one roof
This house met all of our needs. It has two large living rooms with plenty of seating. The space allowed privacy along with large gathering spaces, including a large dining room table for family meals. The kids and grandkids could walk to the private beach, just 2 blocks away. They also were able to walk to a local restaurant and stop by the ice cream shop on the way home. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware. Cedar Point, kayaking and Goofy Golf all within a 15 minute drive.
Shhh! Keep this gem a secret!
We are SO thrilled to have found this gem in Old Homestead!! The moment we found it, we knew that we had to jump right on it, as 5 bedrooms are not easy to find! We could not have been happier with this lovely, spacious home! We found it to be very clean and comfortable. We loved the new kitchen cabinets and the large bathrooms. Plus, in addition to central air, every room had a ceiling fan. Of course, we must mention that this home has private access to THE BEST beachfront on Lake Erie! We enjoyed the beach everyday, walking along the shore and walking out to the lighthouse (as far as we could go). My family absolutely loved the local plaza within walking distance! We frequented two nearby restaurants, the local grocery, Dairy Queen, and even the local Goodwill. My adult children found some very nice items at the Goodwill! My two boys were thrilled with The Gym over at the plaza, and even bought a weekly membership! As you can tell, we soaked up not only the sunshine, but the local area as well! And there's more, for we also enjoyed riding bikes (several provided) around the neighborhood, playing tennis and beach volleyball. After sunset, we gathered around the large dining room table for games and snacks. (I must mention that a very nice pack-and-play and high chair were set up for my 8 month old granddaughter.) We are so thankful to have found this lovely home and we look forward to renting from Pam again! (PS I was tempted to keep this gem a secret :)
Huron is known for bird watching. Areas close by: Sheldon Marsh and Old Woman's Creek. Both are about a five minute drive from our house.
