This spacious house is in beautiful Old Homestead I. Located a block from the beach and a few doors down from a park. The park consists of a tennis court, basketball court, baseball diamond, and swings. The beach has sand volleyball. The private beach is one of the best in Huron!
This 'cottage' has over 2000 square feet which includes a large living room, family room, eat-in kitchen, dining room, two full baths, laundry room, and five bedrooms. All bedrooms are on the second floor. There is plenty of room for the entire family! We have a brick patio and a two patio tables in the back of the house.
There is a garage, but it is not available for your car. It is filled with bicycles, tennis rackets, beach toys, lawn chairs, and a charcoal grill to use during your stay.
Off season there is a two night minimum. Imagine strolling along Lake Erie beach in the spring when the flowers are just coming up. Huron is beautiful in the fall with the autumn leaves, too. You can walk down to the pier by the lighthouse and spend the day fishing. Lake Erie is spectacular in the winter also.
Do you want to golf? There are several nice golf courses within 15 minutes of house. Imagine golfing at Sawmill Creek while having the beautiful view of Lake Erie at the same time. Huron also has Thunderbird North and Thunderbird South Golf Courses. There is so much to do in this area!
Do you like wineries? If so, there are several wineries nearby - Quarry Hill, Paper Moon, Vermillion Valley Vineyards. The Sandusky area has several more wineries! It is a fun place to visit!!
Close by activities: Cedar Point, Kalahari & Great Wolf Lodge Water Indoor Parks, Lake Erie Islands, Golfing, Nature Walks, Wineries, African Safari Wildlife Park, shopping, restaurants, hiking, birding, golfing, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Huron has a 110-dock municipal Boat Basin and Amphitheater where there is FREE live entertainment every weekend during the summer months.
If you just want to relax, then you are at the right place to be. Just spend the day at the beach and enjoy Lake Erie!
That says it all. I just booked again for 2017. This will be our 3rd consecutive year. Very clean and well taken care of, tons of room and close to everything Huron and the north coast has to offer! Forget Florida and save time, money and gas. Book here early. You won't be disappointed!!!
We rented for the first time this year and enjoyed two memorable weeks! The beach is so accessible and beautiful, the house is very clean, roomy and updated. It worked out so well for a girls weekend and for my grandchildren and friends. Such easy access to the park and Cedar Point gave us days of fun activities! Pam is so welcoming, friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend a summer vacation there!
We truly enjoyed our third family vacation in this lovely home. The home is spacious, clean and continues to have new surprises and updates. The owners are gracious, kind, welcoming and responsive. Our group includes kids 4 to 85 and there was plenty for all to do in this great location. We greatly appreciate the wagon and the "lake bikes" and the sunny patio and chairs in the back yard, and of course access to the beach. Can't wait until next year!
This cottage is the perfect place for a large family to vacation. We have family in the area who were able to drive in for the day and enjoy the wonderful beach with us. This home is spacious, clean, and well maintained. The owner is so kind responsive. Our little ones enjoyed the park as well as the beach. I highly recommend this home- the kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of storage areas including ample closets in the bedrooms. We hope tp rent again next year.
This was our second year at this cottage and we love it. Plenty of room and nicely furnished. Beach is the best in the area. Wlaking distance to our favorite restaurant.
Hope to go again.
We have rented this house several years now and will be back again! Well kept, spacious, exactly as shown in the pictures. Owner very nice, great location. Lots of fun things to do in the area. Would recommend!
Huron is known for bird watching. Areas close by: Sheldon Marsh and Old Woman's Creek. Both are about a five minute drive from our house.
