The house is fantastic. Lots of rooms but still space for everyone to gather together as well. With pool table and ping pong the kids had fun in the house. And there was a multitude of things to do in the area. The older teens accused us of taking them to an old persons vacation spot. They changed their tune after white water rafting, downhill mountain biking , paintball, ropes course and zip lining. (Not that old ppl can't do those things too) . It was close enough to Yellowstone that we did the upper loop in the evening and saw lots of animals! Highly recommend the house. I'm sure it's even better in winter!

Great Family Vacation - Highly recommend Moose Lodge

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the property 1-9 August 2015 for a family reunion - the location is excellent and provided for an excellent venue for all we had planned that week. Events included: horseback riding, guided flyfishing, yellowstone private tour, catering from By Word of Mouth restaurant in Big Sky, Zipline/Ropes course in West Yellowstone, several hikes (Ousel, Lava Lake, and BeeHive) and whitewater rafting down the Gallatin. The house was as described and well appointed, and when things did not work - for example, the ice maker in the main refrigerator did not work, the support organization got someone at the front door within 5 minutes with 2 bags of ice and repair personnel at the home at 9 a.m. the next day. It was excellent service. Key items of the house we liked - new whirlpool, oven/range for cooking large meals, 2 dishwashers, plenty of extra beds, view from back deck (lone peak, moose in backyard).

One more note - we researched this trip for 10 months and early on we asked the people who offer this home for rent "who would you use if you were bringing your family to Big Sky" for all the activities. There are a lot of good people doing great things in Big Sky, but I feel by starting out with who they recommended, and then doing our own interviews, set us up for the best chance of success for our visit. We certainly had 5 star activities and it all began with working with BSVR and their team to set up our agenda.

Great House for Ski out....Ski in is another matter all together.

  • 4 of 5

My group of 17 adults skiers really enjoyed was the House had to offer in handling such a large group. Each room was well furnished and the accommodations were comfortable. Hats off to the management company for making our stay very easy and comfortable. Btw, having 5-adults stay in the bunk room on the lower floor is a bit challenging....as they had to spread out into the lower living room space to accommodate all their gear.

Otherwise, the house fit our needs pretty well, except I'd recommend the owner invest in a much better set of cutlery for the kitchen and a more robust wifi system. The preparation knives were very basic and our group has some top notch chefs. The wifi system can't handle more than 10 to 15 devices logged into the router. Since AT&T is really the only cell carrier in the mountain region, most folks on Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile had to access their smart phones via the wifi network. Hence, with a house full of 17 professional workers, we maxed out and exceeded the wifi capabilities on a daily basis.

A couple of tips for future folks to consider. (1) The house is easy to get too, but the drive-way is on a down-hill slope....meaning the main road is above the house. Hence, during the winter, 4-wheel drive vehicles are a must. Also, be cautious around the house during warm days as ice builds up on in front of the main entrance. (2) There is a good grocery store (Roxi) in the main town before you get to the mountain area. It's very well stocked with reasonable prices. Btw, most of the mountain restaurants have reasonable priced food....given it's a main tourist area. (3) If you're out hiking on warmer days, as it was back during our stay (Feb 28th to March 7th), make sure to get a pair of yak-tracks for your boots. With warm days, there was a lot of ice on the trails. Hence the need for yak-tracks which strap onto your boots. We had one gal injured in a fall on the ice trail...and spent some time with the local docs, which are great and reasonably priced services. (4) Bozeman airport is about an hour and 15 minute drive from the house....with clear roads and no snow. Easy to get from and to. (5) The Mountain is huge....and even with a light snow base of 40 inches at the bottom, there was some great skiing to be found. (6) I recommend Lone Mountain Sports for your ski rental needs. If you have a large group like I did, talk with Jeff to get a good discount for your group.

Fabulous house, great view of the mountain, supreme customer service!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here Feb 2015 with 12 guys for our annual ski trip. We have been to a lot of nice places (Whistler, Park City, Sun Valley, Squaw Valley, Heavenly, Whitefish and others) and this house was right up there with the best.

Access - The ski out is very simple. Ski in is more tricky, and we got lost the first time and wandered around for a while, but after that it was no problem. Probably not a place where I'd come home for lunch and go back out, though, because it does take a bit of time and effort. Still a thousand times better than getting in a car.

Livability - The house has great separation of space, but not too spread out either. Just right. Comfortable but not cavernous or cold.

Amenities - Two boot warming towers, plenty of firewood, giant moose head above the fireplace, ping pong, pool, and poker setups, excellent A/V for movies and music, and the views of lone peak, especially from the pool table room above the garage.

The only area I would improve is a few more pots and pans, skillets, etc, and decent knives. If you are expecting 20 and have 3 dishwashers in the house and 10 total burners on two stoves, we need to be ready to cook up a storm, right? But that's honestly quite typical, and it doesn't bump the house off of 5 stars for me.

Service - The most outstanding and extraordinary part was the service from Big Sky Vacation Rentals. They were super attentive, texting me back about issues, offering to personally escort us to show us the ski-in route, etc. We had an oven issue and they were all over it with repair people on the way. By far the best and most attentive rental company I have dealt with, and I have dealt with about 10 at some of the fanciest ski areas in North America.

Thank you!

I cannot find fault in anything. Our family had a once in a lifetime reunion that we will never forget. I recommend it to anyone!! We will definitely be back!!

Epic Thanksgiving at Moosecreek Lodge

  • 5 of 5

This vacation home is beautiful, comfortable, and functional. Owners were attentive to our requests for snow removal on the driveway. The professional kitchen is big enough to cook Thanksgiving dinner for 20! We had a wonderful family reunion. I can't say enough great things about this property!
