Big Sky Mountain Village House Rental Photos and Description

House, 6 Bedrooms, 6.5 Baths

If you have plans to book this home we want to share that there is a large construction project 2 lots away from Moose Creek Lodge. The project is a 22,000 sq. ft. home/lodge. The project will span 2.5 years and will conclude in spring of 2019. We anticipate this area will be a hub of activity in summer of 2017 for that reason we have slashed rates. If your plans include hanging out around the house a great deal of the time to relax we would suggest that we help you find alternative lodging. If you plan on being busy around Big Sky and Yellowstone doing activities, you may find the new rate structure attractive for such a large and beautiful home. Please inquire for details.

Nestled in the pines at the base of the Big Sky Resort, this beautiful private home has full Lone Peak Views and abundant opportunities for wildlife viewing. This mountain oasis boasts nearly 6300 sq ft. and has 6 spacious bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms.

Big Sky is located at the midway point between Bozeman, MT and West Yellowstone. Home to Big Sky Resort Ski Area in the winter, it is only a short 55 minute drive to Yellowstone National Park. World-class trout fishing is just minutes away.

Taking care of the customer

  • 5 of 5

The house is big and beautiful and really is set up super well for a family. But most impressive is the passion of the owner of Big Sky rentals, Kirsten. She took the time to call after our trip was done to make sure everything was the way it was suppose to be. I have rented many house in several states and never had a phone call asking "how was your stay?" It says a lot of what type a company Big Sky Rentals is and their dedication to the customer. Would highly recommend them to anyone needing a awesome house in Big Sky, Montana.

Beautiful House!

  • 4 of 5

Great house with plenty of space to roam and enjoy. We had a total of 16 people with 12 adults and 4 kids. My only issues were the commercial refrigerator was not working and they brought a small single door one and put it in the dining room. Which made it alittle crowded during dinner time. The other issue was the construction noise next to us. From 7am to 6pm there was tractors and excavators going. If you wanted to sit outside and the beautiful porch and listen to the stream and drink a cup of coffee or read a book you had to put up with the noise of the equipment and the constant beeping of the backup warning alarm on the equipment. To pay this type of money and not be told that construction is going on next to you is disappointing. We like to get away and just relax and sit and listen to nature and that wasn't possible at this house. I would definitely ask that status of the construction before booking.

Owner's Response: Dan, It was so great to talk to you in person. I very much appreciated your feedback and as we discussed, disclosure is very important to us, but we were not informed of the start date for the project that began during your vacation two lots down from your home. We have now posted information that the builder provided to us regarding the project. There are also some great discounts available for future guests arriving next summer. The refrigerator is fixed and 100% functional. I am sorry for the inconvenience on this issue. It malfunctioned just a few days prior to your arrival and although immediately serviced, parts had to be ordered and we couldn't complete in time for your stay which is why we placed the fridge in the dining area. I hope the additional discounts we provided and our efforts to resolve your concerns have satisfied you. We look forward to having you back and very much appreciate your business! Best, Kirsten King, Owner, Big Sky Vacation Rentals.

Amazing Experience

  • 5 of 5

We had a 14 person group stay here for a wedding and it worked perfectly. Close to downtown big sky and a pretty private location. There was plenty of privacy throughout the house and everything was immaculately clean and so much to do just at the house!

Mom

The house is fantastic. Lots of rooms but still space for everyone to gather together as well. With pool table and ping pong the kids had fun in the house. And there was a multitude of things to do in the area. The older teens accused us of taking them to an old persons vacation spot. They changed their tune after white water rafting, downhill mountain biking , paintball, ropes course and zip lining. (Not that old ppl can't do those things too) . It was close enough to Yellowstone that we did the upper loop in the evening and saw lots of animals! Highly recommend the house. I'm sure it's even better in winter!

Great Family Vacation - Highly recommend Moose Lodge

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the property 1-9 August 2015 for a family reunion - the location is excellent and provided for an excellent venue for all we had planned that week. Events included: horseback riding, guided flyfishing, yellowstone private tour, catering from By Word of Mouth restaurant in Big Sky, Zipline/Ropes course in West Yellowstone, several hikes (Ousel, Lava Lake, and BeeHive) and whitewater rafting down the Gallatin. The house was as described and well appointed, and when things did not work - for example, the ice maker in the main refrigerator did not work, the support organization got someone at the front door within 5 minutes with 2 bags of ice and repair personnel at the home at 9 a.m. the next day. It was excellent service. Key items of the house we liked - new whirlpool, oven/range for cooking large meals, 2 dishwashers, plenty of extra beds, view from back deck (lone peak, moose in backyard).

One more note - we researched this trip for 10 months and early on we asked the people who offer this home for rent "who would you use if you were bringing your family to Big Sky" for all the activities. There are a lot of good people doing great things in Big Sky, but I feel by starting out with who they recommended, and then doing our own interviews, set us up for the best chance of success for our visit. We certainly had 5 star activities and it all began with working with BSVR and their team to set up our agenda.

Great House for Ski out....Ski in is another matter all together.

  • 4 of 5

My group of 17 adults skiers really enjoyed was the House had to offer in handling such a large group. Each room was well furnished and the accommodations were comfortable. Hats off to the management company for making our stay very easy and comfortable. Btw, having 5-adults stay in the bunk room on the lower floor is a bit challenging....as they had to spread out into the lower living room space to accommodate all their gear.

Otherwise, the house fit our needs pretty well, except I'd recommend the owner invest in a much better set of cutlery for the kitchen and a more robust wifi system. The preparation knives were very basic and our group has some top notch chefs. The wifi system can't handle more than 10 to 15 devices logged into the router. Since AT&T is really the only cell carrier in the mountain region, most folks on Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile had to access their smart phones via the wifi network. Hence, with a house full of 17 professional workers, we maxed out and exceeded the wifi capabilities on a daily basis.

A couple of tips for future folks to consider. (1) The house is easy to get too, but the drive-way is on a down-hill slope....meaning the main road is above the house. Hence, during the winter, 4-wheel drive vehicles are a must. Also, be cautious around the house during warm days as ice builds up on in front of the main entrance. (2) There is a good grocery store (Roxi) in the main town before you get to the mountain area. It's very well stocked with reasonable prices. Btw, most of the mountain restaurants have reasonable priced food....given it's a main tourist area. (3) If you're out hiking on warmer days, as it was back during our stay (Feb 28th to March 7th), make sure to get a pair of yak-tracks for your boots. With warm days, there was a lot of ice on the trails. Hence the need for yak-tracks which strap onto your boots. We had one gal injured in a fall on the ice trail...and spent some time with the local docs, which are great and reasonably priced services. (4) Bozeman airport is about an hour and 15 minute drive from the house....with clear roads and no snow. Easy to get from and to. (5) The Mountain is huge....and even with a light snow base of 40 inches at the bottom, there was some great skiing to be found. (6) I recommend Lone Mountain Sports for your ski rental needs. If you have a large group like I did, talk with Jeff to get a good discount for your group.
