With all of these features, this was the perfect condo to purchase and share with friends, family and fellow vacationers. Enjoy!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Best condo at the Nautilus! We have stayed in several over the years and we enjoyed the great location, nice oceanfront views and walk through the dunes. Nice clean and fresh place with remodeled bathroom. We loved the paint color, fresh linens and decor in the new bath. Kitchen has nice new glass stovetop and beautiful new tile and what must be a new fireplace. Good quality pots, pans and thoughtful utensils in kitchen. Comfortable and peaceful.

Nice space - rough sleep

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed the end unit view and comfort. The place was clean and met our expectations except for sleep. The mattress is super soft and the bed creaky. Hard to get a good night's sleep. I'd recommend in upgrade in the mattress at least.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed the unit. We didn't like hearing about the mattress as we just bought them and are brand new. We spent extra for a high quality type. I know that mattresses are very custom for people. Some like firm, some like squishy and soft. We don't like the one at home and look forward to going to our unit! So sorry you didn't like the mattress. It is too bad because this looks like a negative review for our place. Thanks for staying!

Clean and good view

  • 3 of 5

The GF and I stayed here for a long weekend getaway. The unit is clean and nice, dont let the outside of the building fool you. It had a cool view of the ocean and you could hear the waves. It is in a good location I thought to. Easy walk to the main drag or a min or two drive. The downfalls were the couch/futon is terrible. Uncomfortable to sit on and I could not imagine having to sleep on it. We actually took the pad off the chair and doubled up the couch pad so we could sit on it. The bed in the bedroom was a bit hard for our liking but it worked. The deck off the slider could use some cleaning, it was very very dirty so did not sit out there very long. And you're neighbors in the white trash apartment building to the north were just a treat. It was like watching a bad show of cops. They were up till 3am lighting off fireworks, yelling at each other, banging around, w/frequent police visits. Luckily it was only 2 of our 3 nights. Not a fault of the owner, just something to be aware of.

End of June Beach Time

  • 4 of 5

We had a very enjoyable time at your condo. The view was very, very nice and relaxing, we never tired of it.

We found the kitchen to be very usable and fully setup with the proper kitchen stuff.

The bed mattress seemed to have a little slope toward the center, but we still slept well.

Our biggest critique would be the living room furniture. We found the seating (couch and chairs) to be uncomfortable and needs replacing.

Unit needs some sprucing up

  • 3 of 5

Vivian who helped me with reservations was so cordial and helpful. Rachel the housekeeper was responsive to my concern about WiFi not working and she had thoroughly cleaned the inside of the unit. The problems and disappointments were as listed: the bed was old and squeaked and creaked when I moved around, the futon, the only seating in the living room was EXTREMELY uncomfortable, my back hurt for 3 days after staying here. The working wood fireplace had a big sign blocking it saying DANGER, do not use. There were no towels in kitchen and only enough coffee for one day. The outside of the building needs a good cleaning, the stairs up to the unit were "carpeted" and filthy, the balcony/deck needs to be scrubbed to get rid of mold and dirt. The location is GREAT, kitchen nicely equipped. Cute drop leaf table for dining. Nice updated bathroom. Quiet and peaceful. If you want to walk to the beach through the grass, take the path in front of the Comfort Inn right next door, no sidewalks on the streets to walk to the beach. Grocery store very close and good variation of food. For a different shoreline go down to Damon Point which is much less commercial.

Owner's Response: Thank you for sharing how great the location was and how much you enjoyed the furniture, kitchen and newly remodeled bathroom. Please know that both the Queen bed and the futon are factory brand new. Sorry you felt it was uncomfortable. We went with a recommended mattress that tends to be widely accepted among guests. The building is having fresh carpet cleaning done next week. The stairs became an urgent need of cleaning as we declared the parking lot with new asphalt. This fracked the black on both the North and South stairwells. But cleaning is scheduled. We would ask cordially of you would be willing to adjust the main headline of your review. Does the decoration or unit need sprucing up? Sprucing up communicates the unit is dated, not maintained or old stale decorations. We have cute ocean type decorations, new flooring, new bathroom, new fridge, new glass top stove and all new kitchen amenities. Great location, bed uncomfortable, nice staff seems to fit the review but I hope you would consider that. Thank you.

Last minute

My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary. The location is within good walking distance of the grocery store and restaurants, but there's no sidewalks. The place was reasonably clean, but there's a definite minimalist approach to the decor--meaning minimal investment. There is a very kitschy 1970s dolphin mirror mural over the non-working fireplace, and there was a dirty sock on the shelf. The bed was a pretty soft and very bouncy queen. The "couch" was a very worn futon. There is a coffee maker but no filters. The ocean is visible in the distance, and if your idea of a nice beach includes a nature experience, this is a good thing. Blocked from view were the hundreds of cars/trucks/old RVs parked and driving on the beach. If your idea of vacation includes tailgating on the beach with 500 new friends, this place is for you. If you're more into nature, fewer people, and a place that someone put some thought into, I recommend heading north at Aberdeen and going to Moclips or Pacific Beach.

The Perfect Ocean Beach Getaway Rental"

  • 5 of 5

I was incredibly lucky (due to a cancellation at the last minute) to get the very last available room in Ocean Shores on a super-busy, summer weekend and booked a room at the Nautilus. The owners were helpful, gracious and professional in helping me arrange my stay. The room, with its sweeping view of the ocean and dunes, is also graced with a full balcony and corner window with no other signs of civilization in sight (windows, people, cars, signs, etc)- so the entire panoramic view is nothing but pure, natural, Pacific beach beauty. It felt SO private and calm, and all we could hear were the breakers and seabirds. Loved that!! Also, the room was extremely comfortable, clean and well appointed. For the two of us, it felt like home for our brief stay. I will *most definitely* come back and stay again. I've stayed at the other, big-ticket hotels and inns in Ocean Shores many times before, and the Nautilus felt much more intimate and serene, which is why I come to see the Pacific in the first place. Awesome experience! Thank you.
