This house was not just built, it was artfully molded throughout. The front door is an artistic master piece, a stunning large block of redwood with a door handle crafted into a beautiful curve much like a whale’s tale. The cabinetry is exquisite - made from exotic woods including mahogany, cherry, Alaskan cedar and Pacific Coast redwood. Each room is a unique statement of appreciation and gratitude for nature’s beauty - including fine artwork, hand painted sinks, hardwood floors, and hand crafted furniture. The immense master suite has its own study/ exercise room where you can view the Pacific while cycling on the exercise bike or work on your laptop while enjoying view of Point Lobos. Not a detail was missed in this architectural spectacle designed by local architect, Peter Davis.
Spacious and clean, this 4000 square ft. house provides plenty of quiet private space as well as grand joining spaces. It is large enough to find a quiet corner for reading or meditating and has ample together spaces for playing board games, chatting over the day's visit to local sites, or relaxing in front of a movie. The spacious kitchen with adjoining greenhouse breakfast nook is alive with morning sun and a fun space for group cooking and cheer. In the great room, the formal walnut hand crafted dining table can seat twelve for large dinner gatherings in the warmth of the fire place. The large windows throughout the house bring nature inside, with magnificent scenic views that create the feeling that nature outside and inside are integrated. Two decks provide sweeping ocean views. Pacific View Retreat sleeps 12 in 3 kings, 2 queens and 2 twin beds. 2 sleeper sofas (1king and 1queen) can accommodate another 4 guests.
We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with friends in this gorgeous house. Thank you for making this a perfect weekend! We will tell others about this ideal getaway.
Thanks for everything!

We just spent a week at Pacific View Retreat for a family reunion/retreat/celebration. It was just the perfect house for the eight of us, both the house itself and the location. It was overcast nearly all the time and we didn't even care. The house is very well appointed, beautifully designed, and offers enough space for solitude when wanted or room for eight to sit comfortably. It is an easy drive to many of the most beautiful spots in the area and there are easy and spectacular walks not more than two miles down the road.
Family reunion with 13 people and we all were able to sit at the table together for meals overlooking the beautiful Monterey ocean. The house is gorgeous, the landscaping is excellent and the area is amazing. Saw the China cove where mother seals teach their newborn seals to swim. There is 4 bedrooms with at least two beds in each room. A possible issue to consider is that there are some fairly steep stairs to walk up to 2 of the bedrooms and the first floor. I loved the house and the environment and hope we get to enjoy it again soon. Thank you owner.
The home was beautiful. The view was breathe taking. There were enough beds for my entire group and they were all very comfortable.
From the moment we drove up the driveway, it felt like a a private vacation spot. The inside of the house is gorgeous with wooden interiors, natural light in every room and fantastic ocean views out the windows. Keith was always prompt and professional in the booking & check-out stages and sent us all the information that was needed to make our check-in smooth. The house had plenty of extra pillows, blankets and basic kitchen supplies to supplement the food and cooking supplies we brought. It was the perfect house for our ladies getaway relaxation weekend! Within a two night stay, we utilized the sauna, hot tub, fireplace, front room for yoga, back yard for bbq'ing and the large kitchen and dining room tables for lots of talking and catching up! It's close proximity to Big Sur & Point Lobos allowed for lots of exploration and hiking. On top of all that, we were able to grab coffee and breakfast in Carmel and explore Carmel-By-The-Sea. It's a very special house and allowed for a very memorable weekend.
Completely exceeded my expectations. The property, amenities and view were amazing.
In the highlands, this spot is just a bit south of town, very close to Point Lobos.
What a lovely house! It says it has beautiful views, and it sure does. In particular, the top floor master suite has stunning lookout over the ocean, but even the lower floors aren't bad for views. It is up a steep and winding driveway - have to get up to the views, after all. But even that's not bad, and the circular drive at the top has plenty of room for multiple cars.
Spacious common areas, lots of room for a big gathering. The rooms are well laid out, clean and well maintained.
The owner happened to be there when we arrived, and was very hospitable.
About the only negative is that the kitchen appliances weren't the newest, but certainly functional (except for the trash compactor).
All in all, a place I'd come back to.
Hike the magnificent trails of Point Lobos State Park. Drive the spectacular coast highway south to the redwoods of Big Sur. Experience the stunning view from Nepenthe Restaurant. Enjoy the sunset from the incomparable Highlands Inn. Walk the world famous Carmel beach. Stroll through downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and enjoy the unparalleled art galleries, shopping and restaurants. Cruise the beautiful 17-mile drive through the Del Monte Forest. Immerse yourself in the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Visit the Steinbeck Museum in Salinas. Golf the many gorgeous courses of the Monterey Peninsula. Enjoy one of the special events held throughout the year.
