Watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean, marveling at the beauty and craftsmanship of this handsome home, the perfect proportions of the architecture, the superb choice of wood and appointments, the crafted and stylized door handles and yacht quality cabinetry brings a sense of joy, serenity and knowing that people who really care built this home. Nestled between two canyons yet within walking distance of the historic Highlands Inn and renowned Point Lobos State Park, this place is a perfect get-away retreat for reflection and remembering what matters in life; a great place for reunions, family gatherings, joyous reconnections; a serene place for relieving the stress of life through immersion in the wondrous presence of nature.

Nestled between two canyons yet within walking distance of the historic Highlands Inn and renowned Point Lobos State Park, this place is a perfect getaway retreat for reflection and remembering what matters in life; a great place for reunions, family gatherings, joyous reconnections; a serene place for relieving the stress of life through immersion in the wondrous presence of nature. Awake in the midst of a Monterey Pine Forest to birdsong and repose at night to the crashing sound of waves and the sea lions barking in the distance. Enjoy a card game with friends by the fire or a glass of wine while admiring Bird Rock of Point Lobos State Park from the den. Indulge yourself in the relaxing warmth of the hot tub or renew your spirit in the upstairs sauna. Revel in the true pleasure of being alive and experiencing the love of God through his most beautiful creations.

Pacific View Retreat is ideal for reunions, special birthdays and anniversaries, wedding groups, and corporate retreats.

This house was not just built, it was artfully molded throughout. The front door is an artistic master piece, a stunning large block of redwood with a door handle crafted into a beautiful curve much like a whale’s tale. The cabinetry is exquisite - made from exotic woods including mahogany, cherry, Alaskan cedar and Pacific Coast redwood. Each room is a unique statement of appreciation and gratitude for nature’s beauty - including fine artwork, hand painted sinks, hardwood floors, and hand crafted furniture. The immense master suite has its own study/ exercise room where you can view the Pacific while cycling on the exercise bike or work on your laptop while enjoying view of Point Lobos. Not a detail was missed in this architectural spectacle designed by local architect, Peter Davis.

Spacious and clean, this 4000 square ft. house provides plenty of quiet private space as well as grand joining spaces. It is large enough to find a quiet corner for reading or meditating and has ample together spaces for playing board games, chatting over the day's visit to local sites, or relaxing in front of a movie. The spacious kitchen with adjoining greenhouse breakfast nook is alive with morning sun and a fun space for group cooking and cheer. In the great room, the formal walnut hand crafted dining table can seat twelve for large dinner gatherings in the warmth of the fire place. The large windows throughout the house bring nature inside, with magnificent scenic views that create the feeling that nature outside and inside are integrated. Two decks provide sweeping ocean views. Pacific View Retreat sleeps 12 in 3 kings, 2 queens and 2 twin beds. 2 sleeper sofas (1king and 1queen) can accommodate another 4 guests.

We just spent a week at Pacific View Retreat for a family reunion/retreat/celebration. It was just the perfect house for the eight of us, both the house itself and the location. It was overcast nearly all the time and we didn't even care. The house is very well appointed, beautifully designed, and offers enough space for solitude when wanted or room for eight to sit comfortably. It is an easy drive to many of the most beautiful spots in the area and there are easy and spectacular walks not more than two miles down the road.

Incredible location to have a group getaway

  • 5 of 5

There was enough space for our group getaway to enjoy our stay in the area and not be on top of each other. Plenty of great gathering spaces and the rooms are quiet and well appointed. Although some of the fixtures could use some updating the place is very well suited for our stay. The entire place has well thought out details from an architectural and amenities standpoint. The views and setting is perfect for a get away.

It's a little tough to get into the driveway coming south on CA1 but going past to the scenic overlook and turning around was a good suggestion. The owners were very instructive and provided lots of tips and suggestions on the place and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Fantastic views and wonderful house

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful house in a gorgeous setting. We were sad we had only one full day at the house. We were able to make it to the Monterey Aquarium, and hiked in Point Lobos State Park several times, and enjoyed dinner in Carmel during our stay. House is very comfortable and the views are spectacular.

Our family of 11 attended a wedding in the area and loved having a large, beautiful place to enjoy during our down time. The views were spectacular and the living space was very comfortable.

12 ladies on a women's retreat had a great time. The home was clean and well stocked. This is our second stay. We'll be back!
