My husband and I run a small Real Estate Brokerage in South Orange County, California. We are very spiritual people and frequently visit Sedona. We had two but have just added a 3rd rescue dog which are Boston terriers.
Terry Oldroyd purchased this cottage in 2006
We purchased Phoenix Rose Cottage as a second home that we hope to one day retire to. For several years the home was only enjoyed by ourselves, our family and close friends.
We are very spritual people and decided we wanted others to experience and enjoy the home as it is truly a spiritual retreat. It seemed selfish not to share the property so we decided to make it available to others and we are so glad we did. We have had Shamans, energy healers, priests and even monks stay at the property along with several writers and artists completing work there.
We chose Sedona as it is such a beautiful and serene area and we were looking for an area with a very special energy.
After visiting Sedona we knew right away this was exactly the area we were looking for. The cottage is located in South Sedona in the village of Oak Creek. We chose the village over uptown as it is a little more peaceful, is close to Bell rock and has everything close by.
Uptown is a beautiful drive along the scenic Highway, being in the village gives you the option of driving in and out of the uptown area rather than being stuck in the busier area all the time.
Time and time again we are told this was a home away from home as far as creature comforts. The most unique feature of this property is simply this. When you leave you will feel well rested, relaxed and recharged!
We had an opportunity to use Terry's home this past fall. We found the home beautifully decorated and well maintained. Our son and daughter in law together w/ their dog, Kobi joined us for part of our visit from Phoenix. We had some difficulty w/ the clothes dryer that was quickly solved w/ a call to Terry. Terry is very easy to work with, communicates with you quickly, and his rental is pet friendly. We loved the rear yard with the wind chime tree giving us some background music as we spent an evening w/ a fire in the pit while star gazing. Don't hesitate to rent this lovely home. You will definitely thoroughly enjoy your stay. Just a hair outside of the busy Sedona main drag its quite serene yet very accessible to Sedona itself. We will definitely return to this quaint cottage. Just an FYI: There are steps within the ranch (sunken family room) and to bedrooms so it might be difficult to maneuver for people w/challenges taking steps/stairs.
Wonderful home with fully stocked kitchen, comfy beds and has everything you could possibly need or want. View from backyard was amazing during the day. My spouse set his camera up for chasing star trails one night and the pictures are amazing.
The owner is super easy to work with and responds quickly to texts/emails/phone calls (thanks Terry!). Would love to rent this house again when in the Sedona area.
This is my third visit to Sedona and my friends and I have stayed at Phoenix Rose cottage all three times. The owners are so easy to work with, responsive and very professional. This home is well appointed, has a welcoming feel (as if you are visiting a friend's home) and feels very peaceful. We love sitting outside looking at the red rocks in the early morning and evening and listening to the beautiful wind chimes in the tree on their property. We are frequently visited by hummingbirds as well. The Village of Oak Creek is a beautiful location in Sedona and it is easy to get to hiking, swimming, shopping, eateries etc. We love our travels to Sedona and would recommend staying Phoenix Rose cottage.
We have been all around the world, but we think our stay here in Arizona and
your home has been one of the most rewarding and memorable vacations we
have ever enjoyed.
Every day here has delivered a great memory for us. We have had seven
wonderful hikes all through Sedona and Oak Creek, we have taken a train
ride to the Grand Canyon, we have had two thrilling jeep tours through the
back country, we have explored the nearby old West towns of Prescott and
Jerome, have visited the native American sites of Montezuma's Castle,
Palatki and Tuzigoot, tasted great wines and lunches at vineyards in
Cornville, shopped at outstanding local art galleries and Tlaquepague,
eaten wonderful meals at the local restaurants and experienced some fine
dining at Timo, Elote, Renes, and Cucina Rustica, played golf at Sedona and
Oakcreek golf courses, and enjoyed a great concert as part of the film
festival. Tonight we are going to hear Richard Dreyfus talk and present Mr.
Hollands' Opus at the Performing Arts Center. We also managed to see four
other films while we have been here. We have been very busy enjoying the
area, and none of this would have been possible without staying in your
But we also have just enjoyed your cottage. Our dog loves the backyard, a
freedom he doesn't have back in Estes Park. The neighborhood is filled with
kind and intelligent individuals. You have supplied your home here
very, very well, and we have lacked for nothing during our stay. We have
found everything we need at local shops and businesses, and when we tire we
enjoy great television programs and melodious wind chimes before we go to
sleep in a great bed. And the backyard, stars overhead and the birds here
have us renewed, refreshed and ready to face winter again back in Colorado.
Thank you for giving us such a natural and spiritual rest here in your beautiful
The Phoenix Rose Cottage was the perfect place for our 4 day stay in Sedona. The cottage was lovely and clean and has a nice private backyard to spend time gazing at the red rocks. We loved having access to a full kitchen and laundry room while we were there so we didn't have to eat out every meal. I've been to Sedona for the past 6 years and usually stay closer to uptown, but this location was perfect proximity to Bell Rock and many shopping/dining options in Village of Oak Creek. Loved it and would definitely stay again!
Location, Location, Location!! The Phoenix Rose Cottage has it all – hiking, biking, shopping, sightseeing and much more. Our recent two month stay was beyond our expectations. Terry was always so helpful with answering all our questions. The Cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The owners had thought of everything from the information of local restaurants to the many activities that were in and around the Sedona area. Everything in the house was as described in the description. The two of us and our pets enjoyed the Cottage very much. Looking forward to visiting Sedona again and would highly recommend this property as the house and owners are top notch!
