Perfect Hideaway Close to Amsterdam!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at The Swallows. During our visit to The Netherlands, Belgium, and France we stayed in four different places and this one was easily our favorite. The home is beautiful, comfortable, spacious, and meticulously clean. The location is rural, yet very close to the city - the best of both worlds! The setting is lovely, very serene and full of wonderful wildlife. Everyday we would drive to the Park and Ride to ride the tram into Amsterdam - very easy and cost effective. The total travel time from the house to central station was probably just a half an hour.

The host, Michael, was very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed talking with him and getting info on how to get around and places to visit. If we are ever back in the area we hope we get to stay here again!

Delighted with the property and standard of accommodation.

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I stayed here for two weeks in September & a friend joined us for one of these. We had a wonderful time assisted by our kind and helpful hosts Michael & Leontien. It is a wonderful airy and roomy house fully equipped with everything that we required. It was very comfortable and warm. We also enjoyed exploring the wetlands of the area and the wildlife. It is well situated for easy access via the park & ride system for visits to Amsterdam itself.

We would not hesitate to recommend this property as it is set in a lovely rural and peaceful area which makes for a very relaxing stay. The wonderful sunrises viewed from the garden area were just an added bonus.

Anyone who stays here will be assured of a wonderful time.

Die richtige Wahl!

  • 5 of 5

Excellent Host

  • 5 of 5

I had booked a week stay at this property. Unfortunately we had to cancel. However I wanted to comment on how professional courteous and prompt my communications were with the owners. From the beginning they were thorough and informative and went out of their way to ensure the accommodation's were adequate especially since I was travelling with my elderly mom. Once alerted that I needed to cancel they promptly responded and per the policies refunded me quickly. I wish them much success.

Absolutely Perfect Introduction To Holland

  • 5 of 5

Den Zwaluen is the most beautiful house in an idyllic setting. Michael and Leontien were so helpful and welcoming. We loved riding the bikes and walking to the neighbouring villages. Wished we had a lot longer.

Absolutely adorable!

  • 5 of 5

We truly LOVED our stay at the Swallows. It is nestled in the cute community of Ransdorp -- surrounded by green fields and canals, with cobblestone streets and a beautiful church. The canals bring swans, herons, and other birds to the area, while sheep and goats graze in the fields surround the little community. We rode bikes around the area and were heartened by the sweetness of it all. The home is beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and an awesome kitchen and lovely bathrooms. A short drive will take you to the most delightful little market with fresh meats, breads, and produce. It is a short drive to Amsterdam central, or a train ride if you prefer. All was amazing and exceeded our expectations! Communications with the owners and caretakers were perfect. Thank you so much!
