For decades Place aux Herbes, has been the living room of Uzes, with its fantastic traditional markets, restaurant terraces, wine bars and boutiques. This charming apartment is located on the quiet southeast corner of this historical square, in a 16th century building, with it spacious and bright living room overlooking the tree-lined square. Adjacent to the living room you will find the newly renovated, very well equipped open plan kitchen with a cozy breakfast area just in front of the south facing balcony.
There is a nice, quiet bedroom with a very comfortable queen size bed and a large storage closet, overlooking a little square to the south of the building. Both the bedroom and the adjacent bathroom are in the back of the apartment, located away from the Place aux Herbes.
The home is tastefully furnished throughout with many personal touches, appointed with a charming and homely mix of antique provencial and contemporary furniture.
The apartment can accommodate four people, with a comfortable sofa bed in the living room for your kids or visiting friends.
Unlimited WIFI is provided all through the apartment.
Situated on the first floor promises easy access to all tenants. The Tourism Office, Duché d'Uzès, Cathedral Saint-Théodorit and Jardin Medieval are just a few minutes walk from the apartment.
The cleaning fee of 75€ needs to be paid in cash at your arrival.

It was the first time it had snowed in Uzes for many years which we were not expecting. Even with the cold snap the appartment was cozy, and warm. Our view from the lounge room window overlooked the market, shops and people going about their daily lives in the Place de Herbes.
The well equipped kitchen allowed us to cook fresh produce from the market making us feel at home during our stay.
Dominique was very helpful and efficient with providing detailed information and this made it stress free.
The only things that someone may not like are that there is no tv connection, no phone, no dishwasher and the one flight of stairs can be challenging. Other than these possible detractors for some, the apartment lacks absolutely nothing. The location, layout and comfort, are perfection. Even though the apartment opens up to the busiest place in the town, with the shutters closed, it can be like a sensory deprivation chamber. We loved every second here. What a treat. Thank you,,,
Thanks for the review Lois, We will have dish channels with 5-6 English news channels and a phone to call US/Europe/French land line in 2018. The apartment is on the first floor at least! Christophe
Stylish apartment in perfect location.
We loved the tasteful decor and perfect location. Uzes is a dream. The owners were very easy to communicate with. Would definitely return.
Great apartment.... Lovely town...
A wonderful and peaceful place to feel at home
Again, what a wonderful place to leave the rest of the crazy world behind. We came to stay in this lovely apartment for the first time last November, totally fell in love with Uzes and returned for another fantastic, adventurous and relaxing week beginning of March. The weather was a bit mixed but that did not hold us back from exploring a number of excellent vineyards. Just to name two: Domain de Malaigue (Blauzac) and Deleuze-Rochetin (Arpaillargues, on the way to Nimes…) – both grow their grapes organically / excellent wines with decent pricing / absolutely a “must visit”. Deleuze-Rochetin also has a sculpture garden and a large indoor art exhibition area.
After a few days the sun won its battle with the clouds and we got our bicycles out for a nice day-trip to Nimes (there is a lock-up cellar in the basement of the apartment building where you can store your bikes).
Our intention this time was to find the best restaurants for the three course lunch menu in and around Uzes. One of our favorites is “La Table 2 Julien” (Montaren) – reservation needed!
We spent one entire day visiting the Pont du Gard. It is hard to find appropriate words to describe this amazing roman structure. It puts everything into a different perspective, a beautiful and humbling experience! After hiking first up and then down stream the Gardon River we found another excellent restaurant. A perfect day! When in France… Next time around we plan to explore this slow-flowing, lovely and inviting river by kayak, looks like easy paddling with nice niches for belly filling picnics.
We realized that spending time in Uzes with its open and very friendly town folk and staying in this beautiful and tastefully appointed apartment (which offers everything you can think of), feels like a time travel backwards. Historic buildings everywhere, art everywhere, a feast for the eyes. And time has a different feel here, the French clearly live a different pace…we feel somehow closer to the essence of life here.
It helps tremendously that it is such an easy “in and out” with this apartment location. We parked our car just outside the inner core of town, wheeled your luggage to the Place, took a few steps up to the first floor and… we are home.
Before we left we went to the Wednesday market stocking up on French goodies to take home and left a little heavy hearted. We were happy to see Dominique again (congratulations to your new baby boy!) and hope to be back sometime this summer.
Very charming apartment in a fantastic location
My partner and I were lucky to get away from a busy work schedule for a week and came here in late November. We had gorgeous fall weather all week with fantastic meals in those numerous restaurants all over town (still sitting outside) and relaxing walks along the Eure river in the golden afternoon sun. Coming through the apartments entrance door we realized immediately, this is a real home away from home and not just a rental apartment. The kitchen was just recently renovated and we found every possible cooking ware we needed to cook our own gourmet meal from the fantastic local produce we bought right outside our door (the Place Aux Heroes houses a famous farmers market twice a week - certainly one of the best markets we have visited so far). The lovely Julia balcony just off the kitchen’s breakfast area faces due south, inviting lots of natural light.
The living room is furnished with a charming, cozy mix of antique and new furniture and lots of personal touches. It has two large windows facing east overlooking the ever changing Place Aux Herbes with its happy sounds of daily life. Just sit here and watch or dive in and be part of it. What a fantastic location!
The nice, quiet bedroom is in the back of the apartment, off the square. The bed is super comfortable with a very good mattress and nice linen.
Dominique, the manager of the apartment is just wonderful, super friendly and helpful (she speaks English and French which is very handy at times!). She knows the town in and out and offers lots of information about places to explore and to eat.
It was hard to leave after this great week of French live and look forward to come back soon!
