About Laura Croft

We are a family owned property, owned by a brother and sister. We both grew up in this cabin and have wonderful memories of family retreats here. Our hope is for others to have some of the same wonderful memories by staying here. It is a wonderful, relaxing cabin!

Laura Croft purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Laura Croft chose Virginia

The cabin has been in our family for 15 years but was not used as a rental property until 2007. We love it because of the great fishing, amazing surroundings, and the wonderful memories with friends and family that have been made over the years.

What makes this cabin unique

There is world class fishing in the New River. Playing cards and board games with the family out on the screened porch. Roasting marshmallows on the outdoor stone grill. Relaxing in the hammock. Intertubing down the river from the bridge. Riding bikes on the New River Trail State Park across the river from the cabin.

Peaceful and Cozy Retreat

My husband and I thought the cabin was comfortable and homey. Loved the views of the river. We also saw deer and geese. The owners are very nice and helpful if you need them. Wonderful stay.

Beautiful, Peaceful place.

  • 5 of 5

This river front home is warm and very inviting. The surroundings are beautiful and so peaceful.

We enjoyed every morning down by the river watching deer across the river and ducks and geese. The sunrise and dew on trees was just what we needed. Floating on tubes anchored in the river was also fun and relaxing as the river is not very deep and is walk able with water shoes!

We will plan another vacation stay in the future!!

It was also nice to get away from TV (although one is present in house) and constant cell phone service. (Cell phone service is spotty but, can be found if absolutely needed)

Absolutely Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stumbled across this place kind of last minute, and it couldn't have fit our family's needs any more perfectly! Beautiful cabin, beautiful scenery from the decks as well as great fishing and a large yard. Great fishing hole directly behind the cabin as well as an island that allows for a shallow spot for loading kayaks and children to enter river. To top off all that the owners are extremely nice and easy to deal with. We never left the property during our four night stay. My whole family sees this as a definite place for our future annual getaways!

Wonderful cabin on New River

  • 5 of 5

Was looking for a place between Grayson Highland State Park and McAfee Knob on the Applachian Trail and could not of found a better place. Cabin had everything you could want and very clean. Was perfect place to land after a day of hiking. Would definitely stay again if in the area. Beautiful part of Virginia.

I believe this is our 3rd stay at the Bella cabin. My youngest children absolutely love it. We adults enjoy its peace and quiet surrounding. We just wish it would have wifi/internet access.

Better Than We Imagined!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Bella Casa. We came up on Thursday for our Son's Saturday graduation from Radford University. We are so glad we decided to stay here rather than in hotels in town. Inside and out, this place is wonderful. Everything we needed was supplied, right down to an electric griddle for those big breakfasts my family MUST have when on vacation. Every gadget we needed was there. The cottage was very clean, and beautifully appointed. My twin 2 year old grandaughters loved the "ducks" and all of the decor. We were a bit skeptical about the sleeping arrangements but they were perfect. We had 5 adults upstairs (and 2 porta-cribs) and my son in the loft and his fiance' on the couch! We were NOT crowded in the least. The views were wonderful and although my husband didn't catch many fish - he thoroughly enjoyed trying! We cooked on the grill and enjoyed the large family table. We stayed 4 nights and wish it could have been longer. It is also a bargain for the price - the photos really don't do it justice. A+ rental. We will recommend to all our friends with kids at RU and VT and anyone who would just like a relaxing, fun time on the river.
