About Laura Croft

We are a family owned property, owned by a brother and sister. We both grew up in this cabin and have wonderful memories of family retreats here. Our hope is for others to have some of the same wonderful memories by staying here. It is a wonderful, relaxing cabin!

Laura Croft purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Laura Croft chose Virginia

The cabin has been in our family for 15 years but was not used as a rental property until 2007. We love it because of the great fishing, amazing surroundings, and the wonderful memories with friends and family that have been made over the years.

What makes this cabin unique

There is world class fishing in the New River. Playing cards and board games with the family out on the screened porch. Roasting marshmallows on the outdoor stone grill. Relaxing in the hammock. Intertubing down the river from the bridge. Riding bikes on the New River Trail State Park across the river from the cabin.

A cozy cabin in a beautiful site!

  • 5 of 5

We attended the Virginia Tech game after Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time at this cabin! The cabin had everything we needed and it was clean. We really enjoyed sitting by the river with cocktails in the afternoon. We had three kids and grandparents with us and they all liked it. Would definitely stay again!

Awesome cabin along the New River, Equipped with all the essentials for an ideal weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

I met four friends for a much needed weekend retreat and this property was awesome. The pull-out sofa and sleeping area with 2 twins, 4 doubles was great. There is a loft with a twin which would be great for a kid, or someone who wants to climb a ladder. The cabin is well equipped with blankets and linens and all the kitchen essentials you need. We arrived in time Friday night to take advantage of the fire pit and roast s'mores. On Saturday half of us enjoyed the beautiful cabin and surroundings and relaxed while others of us went to Foster Falls (about a 25 minute drive) and enjoyed hiking the trail along the New River. There is a great garden/antique/gift shop called Holy Cow that is right at the intersection where you turn toward property which we enjoyed checking out. The owners were super friendly and offered very unique items. We drove into Draper and ate at the Draper Merchantile restaurant Saturday night which was delicious. We definitely recommend. The chef was great and let us sample her hot sauce. Turns out the chef = Chef T and was on season 14 of Hell's Kitchen. Early morning walk, the sunrise views, geese and deer sightings and sound of the New River were definitely highlights. The main consideration of the property is that the sleeping quarters are very cozy so you better like who you are with and if you plan on sleeping 6+ be mindful that the twin in the loft requires climbing a ladder. We highly recommend this property and hope to return again some day. The owner Laura was great. She was very responsive to e-mails and made check in/check out extremely easy. Bella Casa definitely lives up to it's name.

The pictures on the site do not do this cabin justice!

  • 5 of 5

I looked at the photos and it fit what we were looking for so we could honeymoon. When we arrived the outside looked as expected but once inside the pictures don't show the full beauty of this cabin. The wood beams and floors were just gorgeous and framed like a modern cabin. The photos also in my opinion make the cabin look a little smaller than it is. It is very roomy, beautiful view outside and from screened in porch...we didn't want to leave. There were only a couple things I felt could use updating but not to the point I was disappointed at all. The sunrises and sunsets are amazing overlooking the water and the view to get to the cabin left us in awe with the fall colors. Will be staying again!

A special retreat.

  • 5 of 5

From the moment I walked through the door of Bella Casa, I knew this was a special place. The cabin is warm and comfortable, decorated with custom pieces of furniture that fit the cabin perfectly. Inside the cabin is everything you would need to relax and enjoy your stay. It is obvious it is loved very much. Then there is the outdoor setting and river...breathtakingly beautiful! My husband and I enjoyed a two night stay for his 66 birthday where we relaxed, and enjoyed the beauty of the New River. We went out one time to eat at the Draper Mercantile which was delicious and worth the trip. The only problem was that we couldn't stay longer!

Everything we expected

  • 4 of 5

Really enjoyed S.W. Virginia and this cabin on the New River was very convenient for enjoying nearby majestic mountains and typical touristic activities. The cabin was located right on the beautiful New River and we enjoyed one day of simply 'hanging out' there, the hammock and playing my banjo on the screened in back porch!
