Beautiful property, great location
Enjoyed our time greatly at this Home. It was clean and spacious. Just wish it was stocked better with the necessities like toilet paper, paper towels and laundry detergent. Quickly ran out of lots of little things.
Nice house! Close to the slopes!
Comfortable for 2 families. Nice house, good location! Saw a bunch of deer all around the house.
Nice place, very cozy
This was a very nice house and we enjoyed our stay. It was very close to Beech Mountain - not even a 5 min drive. The house was a good size for the 7 of us. The kitchen was great, with lots of appliances, dishes, great stove, as we do a lot of cooking. Dining table easily fit all of us. The bedrooms were large. Our only complaint was the heating issues. It was not disclosed that the master room didn't have it's own heater. And then the downstairs bedroom had a broken heater as well. We were given space heaters to make up for it but opted not to use them as they were so large. The master room did eventually warm up with the rest of the house but it took a long time. the downstairs bedroom never warmed up so we slept with a lot of blankets. The first night the whole house was very cold as the heaters are turned off when you get there. I would suggest the owner having someone turn on the heat the morning of guests arrival as it is uncomfortably cold. I would also suggest having trash cans so that guests don't have to haul their trash 15-20 mins away the day of departure. If these two issues were fixed, i think the house would be really great! All in all, loved seeing the deer, loved the trees and view, proximity to the mountain, large bedrooms and great kitchen!
Thank you Judith, we appreciated your calling us about the heating issues. We were unaware that the baseboard heat in the downstairs bedroom was not working and we had it repaired ASAP. The master bedroom is heated by the baseboard heat in the master bathroom. We do have back up heaters as you noted and hate that you chose that to use them. They would have helped a lot. We wish you had used them to get warm. They are compact and weigh less than 10 lbs. Thanks for your feedback on the garbage. Garbage is taken to the dump to avoid trouble with wild animals on the mountain, but we will certainly look into other options for managing the garbage. Glad you enjoyed the home otherwise.
Wonderful home for family gathering
This home was perfect for our family of 5 adults and 2 children. Still had plenty of space for several more to join if it had been possible. Grandchildren loved the bunk room. We all enjoyed seeing deer from the moment we arrived and the kids put water in the bird bath out back to see the deer come up and take a drink. Great area to explore from hiking Linville Falls to downtown Boone.
Great family time
We totally enjoyed our time in this home. For the most part it totally provided for all our needs. I gave 4 stars because the kitchen is a bit small and really doesn't allow for gathering in the kitchen, which our family loves to do. The stove was awesome and you had ample cook ware and utensils. There are also a lot of steps, so just be aware if there is anyone in the party who has difficulty with steps. The deer wandering in the yard just thrilled the kids. Thank you for your hospitality.
We had such a great time at Beech. This house suited our needs perfectly and was a great spot for our group. The house was extremely clean and well stocked with towels and cold weather extras (blankets, etc). The entrance to the slopes was very close to the house. Fred's is always a great choice for a fun stop for groceries and such. Thanks again for a great stay.
