Come away for a time of relaxation & rejuvenation at our Creekside Cottage in the Land of Waterfalls, Transylvania County, NC. Fish in the stocked private pond; wade in the bold creek that winds through our five-and-one-half acre property; play a game of horseshoes or badminton in the large open field, or just relax in a rocking chair by the fireplace.
We also provide maps of the local area as well as books for finding those special waterfalls and birding books as well as hiking trails.
We have been sharing our cottage with special guest for over 10 years and have over 100 happy guest reviews.
Please take time to watch the video of our property as well as the video of the surrounding area of Brevard, and the land of waterfalls. You can take a five minute drive to view a beautiful waterfall, or just sit down by the creek in the swing and listen to the bold creek running swiftly by. The cottage is an easy 30 minute drive to many local attractions, including waterfalls, lakes, golf courses and gorgeous mountain drives.
My husband and I live in Homosassa,Florida. We love the mountains and we love staying in our cottage when we vacation.
Sandra purchased this cottage in 2005
We choose this area because we have a daughter in the area, and we love the mountains/streams/waterfalls. There is so much natural beauty and we never get tired of enjoying it.
This cottage is our favorite place to stay in the Brevard area and the owners are so sweet and attentive. You wont find better in Brevard area.
Great location for hiking, waterfalls, state parks etc. House is comfy and clean. We had an amazing week!
We all loved our stay!! Had everything we needed. It was so relaxing and comfortable. Sandra was so wonderful and so easy to work with! From the babbling stream beautiful flowers, it really was a piece of paradise. A lot of bird activity which we loved!! We would have a beautiful hummingbird come and visit us each day. The beds were also very comfortable. The Jacuzzi bath was a perfect way to end each day. The Mexican Restaurant that Sandra referred us to was so delicious! Wifi worked very well. We will be back!
The house was perfect for our stay. We pulled into the driveway and could see the trout in the pond on the left. We passed over the wooden bold creek bridge and continued up the drive to the ranch style home. The house was situated on a hill over looking a large green yard and bold creek. Once we stepped out of the car the fresh air and sound of the creek made the four hour drive well worth it. The place was perfect. The house was decorated with modern appliances and the furniture was warm, rustic, and comfortable. After a night out at our favorite sushi place (Sora's in Brevard), we turned the gas fireplace on and enjoyed a nice evening having a glass of wine and watching TV. We had plenty of TV channels to watch but figuring out the different remotes was confusing. After a few minutes we figured it out. Our bed was firm and comfortable but the pillows could have been fluffier. The master bathroom was large and had a large Jacuzzi tub (enough for two) but there was no shower. The bathroom had a vanity or powder table positioned between the sink and toilet, which made it a little difficult to sit at the toilet without hitting my knees on the vanity. I possibly could have moved the vanity but I did not want to disturb their furniture. The spare bedroom and bathroom would be perfect for a second couple and the third bed (daybed) in the front room would be good for kids or young adults.
The following morning we went fishing in the pond and caught several trout. My wife caught a bigger trout than I did. Grrrr.... Later that day we went to Gorges State park and hiked to see the beautiful waterfalls. This place is close enough to town yet far enough away to be in a farm/wooded style setting. All and all we loved this place and would definitively stay here again. Perfect for couples and families.
We have stayed many places of the last 30 years in the mountains in North Carolina and Tennessee but this cottage is by far our favorite. The grounds are beautiful and the cottage is so inviting and you feel at home. If you want a relaxing spot to unwind you will defiantly want to stay at this cottage. Fishing in the trout pond was great and our dogs loved playing in the stream. I can wait to go back again!
Great house in great shape on a great property. We had a wonderful week w/ our two kids (ages 5 and 3 1/2). The house felt private and low-key. It had all the amenities we wanted and we highly recommend the property.
