Blue Ridge Cabin Rental Photos and Description

4BR/3BA Sleeps13

Built in 2006 and boasting over 2700 square feet of space under AC and heat, this is truly a wonderful place for you and your family to enjoy memories that will last a lifetime! This luxury 'prow-front' cabin was custom-built on 1.63 acres of land and accommodates up to 13 guests and has 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths. This cabin is a great value. Located less than 90 minutes from Atlanta, Georgia, and less than 4 miles from Blue Ridge, GA, this cabin rental has great year round mountain views and many unique features such as numerous outdoor covered sitting areas, including a covered porch outside each of the 3 main bedrooms. Without a doubt, of the many gathering spots at Tuckaway Ridge, the ones that truly stand out are the: Screened-in outdoor covered patio, (with outdoor fireplace and a ceiling fan).

Tuckaway Ridge Location: Tuckaway Ridge is located less than four miles from downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia. Blue Ridge is a quaint little town that is definitely gaining an 'upscale' reputation and has often been compared to what Highlands, North Carolina was many years ago. The downtown area is very charming with numerous antique stores, specialty stores, restaurants, fudge shops and more. Many of the older buildings are undergoing restoration to their original state from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. There is also the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway (which travels along the Toccoa River), Whitewater River Rafting on the Ocoee River (the 1996 Whitewater Rafting and Kayaking Olympic Site), 300 miles of hiking trails (40% of the county where Tuckaway Ridge is located is National Forest), apple orchards, and three nearby 18-hole golf courses. Also, fishing, jet-skis and swimming are available in nearby Lake Blue Ridge. Of course, we like to just sit back, look at the view, read a book or watch the 42inch plasma TV!

What the press says about the area: Some excerpts from recent articles on Blue Ridge:

New York Times, September 2006 - 'Beyond the obvious - the proximity to Atlanta, the mountain lifestyle, the upscale amenities, the quaint downtown - the greatest appeal of Blue Ridge may be it's people. By city-slicker standards, they’re downright friendly and accommodating... The climate is another plus. The area is cooler than Atlanta during the summer, but still far enough south that it snows only occasionally during the winter.'

Mountain Homes Southern Style, Spring 2006 - 'It's the flavor of Mayberry but with the amenity of a great little town... This place is what Highlands, NC was 20 years ago.'

Features:: Brand new (Oct 2006), 4BR/3BA cabin. 3 main bedrooms have a covered deck, 4th is a 'bunk room' with 4 beds set up as 2 bunk beds. 3 fireplaces, wood fireplace outdoor & on main floor, gas in basement. Game Room in Basement, including pool table, darts & wet bar (Steve's Saloon). High-Speed Internet & Local Phone Service (please bring a calling card if you need long distance). 42inch Plasma Satellite HDTV on the main floor, 32 inch LCD Satellite HDTV in Basement. Outdoor Hot Tub under the stars. Barbecue grill. Wrap-Around Wood & stone decks. Less than 4 miles from the town of Blue Ridge, Georgia (home of the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, Antique Stores, Unique Shops & Restaurants). Less than 20 miles to Ocoee River rafting, Located in Fannin County (40% of which is National Forest). 300 miles of Hiking Trails, as well as Cycling & Mountain Biking Trails Nearby. Coffee (including filters, sweetener and sugar). Less than 90 minutes from Atlanta Airport. Three 18-hole Golf Courses nearby.

About Steve and Terri Tucker

Terri Tucker owns Tuckaway Ridge. Pictured here with her husband, Steve (who is a local Realtor® in Blue Ridge), Terri & Steve Tucker were married in 1987 and met in Atlanta, GA (which is where Terri was born). After having to relocate to Florida in 1995 due to Steve's job, the mountains still beckoned for us to return frequently, so in 2006 we had Tuckaway Ridge built and in mid 2015 we moved to Blue Ridge full time. Steve and Terri have both worked in the hospitality business and Terri has taken Tuckaway Ridge from being just a rental cabin to a luxury and cozy experience so that you will feel as if Tuckaway Ridge is in fact your second home, so it is very warm and inviting (as a number of our past renters heave commented). Tuckaway Ridge is stocked with nice amenities, and we not only include quality linens and towels, but also coffee, tissue and paper towel! There truly is something special about Tuckaway Ridge, and we do hope you will enjoy your stay here.

Steve and Terri Tucker purchased this cabin in 1995

Why Steve and Terri Tucker chose Blue Ridge

Blue Ridge was close to Terri's parents, and close enough to Atlanta to make it easy to fly to. There are so many varied things to do in Blue Ridge you could visit every year and never do the same thing twice - from hiking to driving a tank and crushing a car with it, to taking a train, to zip lining, to taking a helicopter ride. The downtown Blue Ridge area also has some excellent restaurants, bars, wine bars, and breweries . Also Tuckaway Ridge is close to the 1996 Olympic Whitewater Center (and the whitewater rafting outfitters), and the town of Blue Ridge is a really great little town with super friendly people.

What makes this cabin unique

Waking up every day to the beautiful view of the Rich Mountain Wilderness area is a truly unique benefit that few - if any - other cabins can offer. No matter the weather, the view is constantly changing throughout the day.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We were 11 people and were very comfortable for our family weekend with grandparents and grand kids. It was unseasonably warm, lows in the 40's and highs in the low 60's, and although rainy, it was still beautiful.

Perfect vacation home for our three families...a floor with beds and bath per family.

  • 5 of 5

When you want to come together with family members, but you don't want to be on top of each other, then this is the perfect vacation getaway for you! My husband and I had the suite and bathroom on the main floor (no stairs), my daughter and her husband with their three young children enjoyed the basement (bedroom for them, bunk room for the kids next door) and my son and his wife with their baby took advantage of the sprawling king size bed master suite upstairs!

Although most of our time was spent on the lake boating or tubing on the river, it was always a grateful bunch that gathered in the beautiful cabin afterwards.

Mornings were gorgeous too! We sat on the deck, overlooking the sweeping view of the mountains and considered our good fortune finding this vacation gem. After the first night, my kids enthusiastically voted to make Tuckaway Ridge a family tradition!

Beautiful Mountain Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We loved it! Beautiful, private cabin yet close to town. Decking all around the Cabin to enjoy the views, plus a large screened porch w/ a fireplace we enjoyed! Decorated lovely, plenty of space. Kitchen is well-stocked you won't need to buy anything if you want to cook. Plenty of firewood too. Gas logs in the family room w/ a pool table. Tuckaway Ridge was a wonderful place to stay! Close to town, shops, Restaurants, etc. I'd definitely recommend this cabin to everyone. The owners are very nice and accommodating; if you have any questions. The description of the property was more than accurate. Check-out Tuckaway Ridge, it's beautiful. If you like birds and other cute critters, their all around the property too.

Great place for a get-away from Atlanta

  • 5 of 5

This was a great location for our small group of old friends to escape and relax and enjoy the great views and accommodations. The cabin was clean, well maintained with all of the amenities provided. It is far enough off the main roads to be quiet and relaxed but not far from most of the north Georgia attractions. The property description is accurate and the owner was available and responsive. We would recommend this cabin to friends or relatives and we will be back to enjoy it again. We visited Blue Ridge and the local area as well as Gibbs Gardens which is worth the drive.

Beautiful cabin with great views

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was cozy and had plenty of room for our large family. We enjoyed the game room, fireplaces (3), and hot tub especially. Sunrises over the mountain tops were quite a sight to see every morning. The owners are super friendly and helpful, and came right over to fix a broken TV in the game room. The only downside to our stay was an inoperable dryer. The owners did try to get it repaired before our stay was over, but it didnt work out. Also, from the aerial photos the yard around the cabin appears larger and more flat than it is. We were hoping for a little room for the kids to run, but with steep inclines and drops it wasnt possible. Still, our stay was very enjoyable and I would recommend the cabin to other vacationers!

Simply Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Tuckaway Ridge was everything we wanted & more! We all traveled from FL, NC, & TN to celebrate a 30th birthday, and Tuckaway Ridge was the perfect place to do just that. The views, the decor, the amenities, the location.. Simply perfect! We spent a lot of time by the outdoor fireplace, relaxed in the hot tub, played games, cooked big meals, and just enjoyed each others company. We traveled in to town to visit Mercier Orchards and for lunch but found ourselves just wanting to be back at the cabin. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. Already looking forward to our next stay at Tuckaway Ridge!
