Lake Minong (Minong Flowage) is a highly desirable lake in Northwestern Wisconsin. It is 1564 acres in size and is similar to the Canadian Wilderness. There are numerous islands with little bays to explore. The shoreline is heavily wooded with pines and hardwoods, and the lake provides abundant walleye, northern, bass and panfish. It is considered a sportsman's and recreational lake with good quality lake water. Swimming is great at Sand Island, the park public beach, or just off the dock.
This area also includes miles and miles of ATV and snowmobiling trails and is quite heavily forested.
If you need any supplies there is a great General Store located within 3 miles of the Lake Home. This store provides groceries, wine and beer, dvd rentals, fishing licenses and bait, gas, propane, and a full selection of hardware tools and supplies. Specialty coffee drinks available as well.
The Lake Home is located only 25 miles west of the quaint town of Hayward, Wisconsin with a wide selection of shops and restaurants.
Come experience this delightful, well-kept secret in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

My wife and I found this property after searching for ten years to obtain a high quality lakeshore lot in which to build a dream home. We had so much fun creating a cozy northwoods home and did not use one piece of sheet rock. The home is filled with knotty pine walls and beamed ceilings. We love just sitting by the fieldstone fireplace!
Ted LeVin purchased this house in 2005
Locating the lake home on a large lake with many islands and bays to explore seemed like the perfect place. When we saw the Bald Eagles nesting on the lake we were sold on the location.
The deck overlooking the lake is one of the prettiest views we have seen. It truly is like the 'On Golden Pond' movie pictures with a jutting peninsula and Pine trees.
We've stayed at several VRBO cabins in this area, and this is the nicest one we've been at yet. Every winter we spend a long weekend with another family (4 adults, 3 kids total) at a cabin in this area to cross-country ski, relax, play games, etc. This place was a great fit. The kids loved the basement with ping-pong and foosball and huge TV, which gave the adults a nice place to relax upstairs by the fireplace. The open kitchen/dining/living area is spacious and comfy. The loft upstairs was a great sleeping are for the kids while the adult couples each got a bedroom. The owners have done a great job making it easy for newcomers to use this place and feel at home, down to little details like labels on the light switches, and good instructions for using the fireplace, TV, etc. Very easy key access for letting yourself in, and easy checkout with simple instructions for putting garbage and recycling in the basement laundry room, and tossing towels and sheets in the bathtub for the cleaners to take care of. Will likely stay here again.
Girls weekend was wonderful . We have below zero temps for our stay , but felt toasty in the luxury home ! Above our expectations. The information was good from the owner as well as the booklet in the home ! Would recommend this place to families and couples ! Would love to see it in the summer ,, thanks again Tim and Jill !!
This review is being written a little late as my family stayed there in October of last year we were all very very pleased . From communication with the owners to our stay everything was more than we could've hoped for. Our entire immediate family stayed (my husband and I, three adult children-spouses and our grandchildren ages 7 months, 8 months and 7). Plenty of room, beautifully furnished. The view of the night sky and the Milkyway was breath taking! We finished our last day with a family ping pong tournament which was a blast! Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Thank you so much for a beautiful place to stay at an affordable price!
The Pranke Family
My family of 5 stayed at this beautiful rental between the holidays this year. We have rented frequently through VRBO in the US and Europe and this property ranks very high! It is beautifully decorated, extremely clean and well outfitted. It was a perfect experience for us. Plenty of space in a secluded location but still easy to find and close to conveniences such as groceries and restaurants.
Ted is a wonderful, responsive and very helpful owner. We highly recommend this property and are in the process of booking again ourselves.
My husband and I were looking to do a little "Mom and Dad getaway" for an extended weekend. We were hoping to stay in a log cabin. When we saw the pictures online, we knew it was the perfect one! When we arrived, it was simply breathtaking! The view from the family room was simply gorgeous. We loved sitting in the family room at night with the lights dimmed low for a cozy feel. The rest of the home was also decorated perfectly! We are from the Milwaukee area and stopped at a few wineries on the way up. We also visited the winery in Hayward and did some shopping. We felt like the weekend went waaay too fast. We loved the cabin so much that we talked to our kids into returning again this summer. We shared with the kids everything we will be able to do up there (Boating, fishing, ATV's, Horseback riding, Dinner Train, Fish Museum, tubing, etc.) and they are very excited! We can't wait to get back!
Last fall I attended the Feed My Starving Children Gala at the Convention Center and won a week's stay at this beautiful log cabin as a raffle prize. The owner, Ted, was very generous and helpful in answering all my questions. For the first 5 days of February, I invited my 84 year mother and 3 sisters to stay and had fabulous time in this beautiful home. We found it to be comfortable and clean with everything we needed. It has gorgeous views of the lake and plenty to do. We cooked most of our meals in the well-stocked kitchen and enjoyed the Wisconsin winter by hiking on the frozen lake, having a winter camp fire and making almost daily jaunts into Hayward which is only a 25 minute drive away. The last 2 nights my immediate family of 5 and a friend's family of 5 spent the weekend enjoying the cabin which was plenty spacious for all of us. We enjoyed ping pong tournaments, air hockey, soccer on lake, hiking, watching movies on big screen TV and playing board games. We were planning to rent snowmobiles but not enough snow that week. Would love to come back again and I hear it's a fabulous destination in the summer too.
