About the property

Great access all tourist spots, left bank, beautiful /eclectic sunny /quiet loft

One of two apartments at the Loft 11100. Please mail me for availability. More photos on facebook loft11100 with reviews. This photo is the ground floor apartment, there is also a first floor one, on the same listing. They can be rented together to sleep larger groups of 16+ , but generally I rent the upstairs and live myself downstairs, but I do rent the downstairs when I am away or on special request. My helper and I both speak English and French and Polish, and we are ready to help you get around and orientate yourself and plan your trip in Paris. Each space is unique and wonderful, and each has three bedrooms. Each has it plus points. Upstairs is slightly smaller (even though huge) but it has 7m high ceilings and huge skylights, so it's full of light and warmth, especially when the sun is out! But even on dark days. It has a lovely windowed master bedroom with bath en suite, and views out over trees and sunrise. It's very open plan and really special. There are two other double bedrooms and a separate shower room with WC. It is on the first floor (second US) with a spiral staircase leading from a courtyard with private entrance to the street. Fabulous , beautifully furnished, with lots of original art, huge volume artist loft, with fully equipped Kitchen with grantie work tops and breakfast area, master bath with large bath tub, with additional shower room. Three double bedrooms, with additional platform sleeping areas for extra guests or children. Beds all comfortable and new, with great cotton sheets and feather pillows and duvets/comforters. Great for small or large groups, you will appreciate the rarity of such space in the Paris area. Get togethers, working parties.. or a family reunion.

The Ground Floor apartment is even bigger , with 4m ceilings and a huge kitchen area. One bedroom is on the ground floor with a small shower room and wc ensuite. The other two bedrooms are on the mezannine level. One has a bath en suite and one is without a bath ( the shower is on the ground floor at the rear ), the room without the bath can sleep 4 adults or children, with a double bed on the ground level and one on the platform (bunk). There are two huge floor to celing windows facing south and opening onto a communal garden in gated community and a private terrace, great for sitting in the sun and having a meal. On this floor the bedrooms are smaller, the living space is larger. The sofas are super comfortable on both levels and two on each level can be slept on. Both spaces great for entertaining, though I think the ground floor takes the edge on this, it is also cooler in the summer, although the electric shutters on the upstairs floor help keep the sun out, if it gets too warm. Each apartment can accomodate up to 10 people, though bear in mind each has 3 bedrooms, and many rent with two people for long term with guests to entertain, or families with children, or three groups of two adults. I am happy to help you with your requests. I can help organize parties or special occasions.

What makes this house unique

Light, quiet, vast, terrace for sunny meals... large groups of 8+ can fit in in each apartment.

There are two wonderful apartments, which can be joined together, by request, to accomodate large groups for parties, workshops etc. and will sleep 16 plus if necessary. However mostly I rent the upper floor, artist studio, for long or short rentals, and this will sleep 6-9 in beds . I like to look after my guests, we speak English and can take care of you, help you get around Paris and orientate you. If you wish to organize a special event like a 50th birthday party and invite your friends, I can help you put this together etc. Please contact me by mail for further information.

Incredible, one-of-a-kind place to stay in Paris.

Magdalena Groszek is a fine hostess, with good communication and lots of detailed information both online and using text/email, as well as in a book inside the lofts. Just be clear on whether you want both lofts, or if only one, which one. I think my large family size, and initial miscommunication hampered our renting, but we quickly fixed it and had no issues after that. She even accelerated the between-guest cleaning so we could all check in to both lofts earlier (16:00).

We used both lofts as we had 6 adults and 10 children, and had plenty of room. The décor was unique and made this place a favorite with our entire family. Location is a little hidden, in the middle of a mixed industrial and reclaimed industrial area with the actual building the lofts are in looking like an old warehouse. Nice garden area once you enter the are with other lofts surrounding the green space which lets the kids go outside, but still within the outside gates to the street.

We parked on the street (we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, so were able to find two parking spaces within half a block that cost 3 Euros daily during the week) and then walked a little over half a kilometer to the Ivry sur-Seine Metro stop. (This stop is just outside Zone 1, so we used the RER interurban trains to get into downtown Paris, which was between 15 minutes (Notre Dame) and 30 minutes (Eiffel Tower) away.)

It was relatively easy to find with the provided physical addresses, and the required codes to get into the garden and the key boxes were straightforward in the arrival instructions. Departing was also easy with clear (and simple) instructions that let us depart in a timely manner.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Keith, for your kind and accurate review/appreciation, I think it will help other guests situate and appreciate where the loft is. I'm so glad you and your children enjoyed the space and décor, it represents many years of travel and works! I'm glad the key safe and codes work well, I believe it takes a lot of stress of the host and guest as far as arrival and departure times go. Thank you also for being great guests and leaving the loft clean and tidy. I hope the rest of your vacation continued well Kind regards Magdalena

Comfortable for large groups, with a couple of caveats

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in the upper loft only with 11 people over NYE. Prior to check-in, Magdalena was very responsive and helpful, which continued into the trip. As to the upper loft, the common space was large and spacious for such a large group, and we appreciated the quirky beauty of the loft. Overall the stay was comfortable, with a couple of caveats. While 11 slept fine in the loft (there are 3 double beds, 2 lofted twin beds, an additional single cot, and several couches), getting into the lofted beds is difficult (ladders are very painful). The bathroom situation is also less than ideal - there are 2 bathrooms but with odd configurations. One bathroom (toilet + standing shower) is adjacent to the kitchen. This is the one where our entire group showered. The second bathroom (toilet + baththub, no real shower) is very large, so good for getting ready, but does not have a door and opens straight into one of the large bedrooms. This means there is no privacy. The bathroom is also carpeted, and the bathtub does not have any walls or curtain (it is actually located in the very center of the bathroom), so it is almost impossible to shower here. The location of the apartment is also in a suburb of Paris, not an Arr., but transport to the center of city is fine via Uber or metro. Overall, we would recommend this space for groups slightly smaller than ours, and who are okay with the caveats. Our group would all stay again, as the biggest benefit, for us, was the common space.

Owner's Response: Dear Maria, Thank you very much for your review, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. The location is clear on the map at HomeAway it's about 600m to the 13th arrondissement, and I do describe the neighbourhood. But it's urban as you say, and the transport is easy. I do make it clear that 11 people is a maximum and normally only suitable for families with children for that number so that the bathroom situation does not become too awkward, and also children like climbing ladders! if there are fewer people it's normally not a problem. You had asked for the extra people to stay and I did warn you that it was really as the French would say 'un peu juste'. However you are right, the communal space is amazing, and I will have a think about putting some glass walls around the bath, or at least a curtain so it could be used for showers. I have been reluctant to spoil the view from the bath which is so delightful. I noticed you did not open the futon sofa bed in the living room which you could have used too! I appreciate all constructive comments and was very happy to have you come and stay. Best wishes, Magdalena

very artsy and cosy place, very spacious, centre of Paris is close and easy to reach by train

  • 4 of 5

We defenitley had a pleasant stay in the 2 apartments. We were 2 families, 10 people in total. There were enough sofa's and corners for everybody to have some quiet time/privacy, or for the group to spend time together. The lofts are very spacious and decorated in a original, warm and artsy manner. The 2 kitchens are fully equipped and fun to work in. The rooms (and beds) are a bit variable in comfort and so are the bathrooms. The place is clean enough and the atmosphere is pleasant. The neighbourhood is quiet, with a great bakerie, some shops and restaurants closeby. Subway is very close too. We visited in winter and therefore did not spend time in the garden, which did seem very nice to enjoy with warmer weather. All in all, very good!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review. I'm so glad you enjoyed the loft. It's true some of the rooms are smaller than others, and it's definitely an artist's loft and a bit funky that way. I made a choice to keep the open spaces large and the bedrooms and bathrooms smaller certainly than the American norm! However I do try and make sure all beds are comfortable and I replace the mattresses regularly and all the sheets are very high quality. If there are any specific issues, I'd be happy to address them. I do have a list of the bedrooms and what is in them on Home Away. There are additional photos on face book. For sure it's NOT a hotel, and the prices are not hotel like either! It's an eclectic artists house, full of original art, designer furniture and super well equipped kitchens, it's not just a rental property either. That is it's charm I believe. I would hope the house is very clean, and I would ask my guests to let me know of any issues. Thanks again.

Bohemian Arty Loft Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at the loft apartment in May 2015 for 5 days. Our group consisted of 2 families (3 adults and 6 children). We all loved it! Loft apartment bright, clean, modern and very tastefully decorated - loved the art!. Spacious and had all the modern appliances required. Children particularly enjoyed open plan sitting area and terrace where they could sit, chat and play.

Thank you allowing us the opportunity to stay in Paris! Truly great experience.

perfect loft in a perfect area of Paris

  • 5 of 5

We have rented both lofts for a long weekend Paris, with 14 people. We were truly amazed when we entered the door(s). It is a beautiful spacious loft, with a lot of room. There was more than enough place for everyone to sit and the garden is beautiful as well!

The kitchen was well equipped and we had breakfast at the kitchen table each morning.

The supermarket is very close, and very big! Location is perfect, subway station nearby. Uber is also a great way to get around!

We didn't see Magdalene, but her instructions were very clear and there is a book in the loft, with all the information you need!

We also could stay longer in the apartment and check-in earlier than the official check-in time.

We would definitely stay here again and recommend this beautiful loft to everyone!

Tucked into the streets of an old post industrial area, this spacious apartment/house presents an ideal showroom space or accommodations for a large group.

Wonderful rooms brimming with designer furniture and world art of various scales, from miniature pieces to grand sculpture. Choose your mood, relaxed or intimate. A massive skylight upstairs and a wall of green downstairs give the loft on each floor it’s own personality.

Gentle quiet, lots of sunlight, and a focus on nature’s elements with a garden, create calm and set the stage for a tranquil and memorable special occasion! Add food cooked in the professional gourmet kitchen, bought around the corner in the huge market, and you have a perfect setting for dinner or drinks. The apartment’s residential and closed gated location lets you dive into the culture—meet the neighbouring artists or enjoy a private holiday at the edge of Paris’s famous landmarks. Here, you enjoy proximity to the left bank Latin quarter and the Notre Dame, and the Eiffel Tower all within a direct metro ride or a short UBER hop.

We had an amazing trip with friends and family, and highly recommend this wonderful space!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review, I'm so glad you enjoyed the loft and I hope you return to visit again soon. I know you hired some chefs to cook in, and I feel that's a marvellous idea to feed a large group without going to a restaurant.
