South Ocean Villa is a new property located in the heart of the South Coast on the beach. It is 1,200 square feet of tile, marble, and coral. It shares the same beach as four of Barbados finest resorts including the Barbados Hilton. The unique location and design by world famous architect Ian Morrison, offers breathtaking views of the entire South Coast of the island with no obstruction, and it is possibly the finest view on the island. The property sits literally in the sea and affords some of the most intensely beautiful sunrises and sunsets to be found anywhere. Its location on the main road insures that you can walk to any of the many restaurants, shopping centers, banks, and grocery stores in the area. Public transportation is located right out the door. With over 50 years experience on the island, we can help you maximize and economize your visit to our special "paradise." They just completed a new government Boardwalk which links the Hilton Beach with Rockley Beach. It is about 2 miles long and is a great place to jog, walk, and explore along the sea. Truly a beautiful addition and it is located right outside your door.
Enjoy the sound of the surf off one of your two balconies. Swim in the private pool and bask in the sun on the private sundeck. Venture on the beach to swim in the sea or walk for miles.

The addition of the new government boardwalk has increased the value of enjoyment with this property. You are now able to move quickly and safely to the beach, restaurants, and shops all while enjoying the beautiful sea. It is great to people watch and to burn off some of those "Rum Calories."
Overall the propery was as listed and the island was beautiful. We had a wonderful stay. Organizing the rental was quite easy, however our security deposit was never returned nor was our request for an explaination for this. We were rarely in the condo as there were many attractions to visit, so we are still awaiting an answer.
We have stayed at this condo 2 of the last 4 years we have visited Barbados The location remains idyllic---near the beach, secure, near restaurants and shopping! The actual condo is also “nice”---2 bedrooms, kitchen, living area, two balconies with an ocean view! Noticeable problems have, however, become obvious: minor rusting on the refrigerator and door locks can easily be fixed; while there, the AC in the small bedroom was fixed so that it blows cold air. However, the biggest problem is that the living-family room area’s air-conditioning has been disconnected! Indeed, the air-conditioning in BOTH bedrooms operate, but the AC in the main housing areas has been disconnected (by order of the owner). This means that---because very few individuals spend the majority of their (in condo) time in the bedrooms, the heat in the larger part of the condo can become over-bearing! I can understand why (perhaps) the disconnection was made—too many renters leaving it on for too long! However, that should not be reason enough to “punish” those who have (in the past) followed the instructions to turn-off the AC when not in the condo or to leave the AC on for all “hours” of the day. There were miserable hours spent in the main housing areas. Perhaps a “timer” would be beneficial in preventing mis-use!
This was our first time doing a vacation rental through VRBO and Home away. Being from Barbados born and raised, we knew the area we wanted to be in where we could enjoy the beach, family and friends. And this was ideal.
Mark made the booking experience very easy , and was professional, he answered all our questions in a timely manner and provided an over abundance of information in regards to his unit and island . We even switched our usual car rental company to one that Mark suggested .
The apartment view was awesome and hearing the sounds of the Ocean was very relaxing The apartment was very clean and spacious, it has a beach, casual homey feel . Not glitzy and glamorous but the way a beach setting should be.
Upon arrival we noted a few issues that had to be corrected, contacted the property manager , Laila and she responded promptly and the issues were rectified in a timely manner and it did not interfere with our vacation schedule.
The living room AC did not work, but this was not missed, as we took advantage of the ocean breeze which kept the unit comfortable. and a Rum Punch helps to keep things cool
One thing to mention, we rented a car to visit family and friends, its great having an indoor secure parking spot, just be prepared to utilize all your parking skills, as the garage is challenging to negotiate.
We would enjoy breakfast and sometimes lunch on the veranda and head out for dinner .
Would definitely recommend this unit being Beach front and updated good value for the money .
For 5 years we have been vacationing together during our spring break and wanted a new location. And what a location this was!! Right on the water, clean, and spacious. The owners were quick to respond, provided wonderful information, and assured everything was perfect. By far this location was the best. They are not exaggerating when they say you will love the views. We had a very relaxing time and also found plenty to do when desired. The security provided by locked gates and doors was a comfort. We would do it again!!
I would rate my overall experience in this property as great. It was me and 3 of my girlfriend who stayed at this property for about 4 days. The property was clean and enough room for 4 women. The real seller in this property is the amazing view from the balcony. This property is right on the beach and in a great location. I would def stay here again.
This was the perfect place for our family vacation with our 2 teenagers! Relaxing, everything we needed to live like an islander! We swam, snorkeled, the kids surfed, shopped, toured the island one day, and had the best vacation in years. The location was great, we walked many places, explored all the beaches on that side, with Carlisle being the most scenic during our stay. Mark's island tips were invaluable and we had a great time on the island tour through his friend Quami! Dread or Dead surf shop across the street was perfect for surf lessons and they went above and beyond making sure the kids had a great experience. Oistens fish fry was so much fun we went 2 Fridays! Walking to restaurants and groceries stores was easy and the boardwalk made for some great morning and evening walks. Still miss my wake up coffee on the balcony watching the waves every morning! Definitely on our list of places we would stay again for a total island experience!
This was our second stay in Barbados. Mark and Susyn, the owners are quick to respond as well as have a complete package that illustrates most of the highlights of the Barbados experiences listing ideas as well as some advice on what to bring up to save you money. The condo was clean, stocked well with all the accesories you would need to dine in. Magazines also included places to nearby for more dining and fun. The board walk is something I walked every morning at 5.30 AM all the way to Accra beach. Steven the building caretaker, you would see him every morning cleaning the pool and lounge area near the boardwalk complimented the excellent stay. Thanks again to Mark and Susyn
