This penthouse on the third floor enjoys lovely views of the picturesque village of Marsascala and the beautiful Mediterranean sea. It is set in a central, yet quiet area a few meters away from the water front.

All rooms in South Lodge Penthouse are highly finished and bright. The kitchen and living area has a comfortable sofa that can seat up to six people, a 50inch led TV, and a well equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, etc. The living area leads to a lovely front terrace which may be used for outside dining whilst enjoying the superb views in a relaxing environment.

The penthouse has three bedrooms.

The master bedroom with en-suite shower room has a double bed.

The second bedroom also has an en-suite shower room and two single beds which may be set as double.

Both of these bedrooms and living area are air-conditioned.

The third bedroom has a double sofa bed and this room leads to a small back terrace. It has a ceiling fan. Guests in this bedroom have to share shower room with access from the other 2 bedrooms.

Perfect penthouse

We stayed in June for a week and had a lovely, relaxing holiday. The apartment was fantastic and clean and looks just as it does in the photos. There are numerous restaurants very close by which we took advantage of and also used the bbq on the balcony a few times, getting meats from Michaels Butchers which was 5 mins away by foot. Carl was very friendly and helpful and we had no issues whatsoever. It is ideally situated for the buses to take you wherever you want to go, with Valletta being about half an hour by bus. We would have no hesitation in booking this penthouse again.

Fabulous, easy for town and beach/sea.

We stayed in this lovely property for 10 days. Myself and my two adult children. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable, it is light and airy and exactly as photographed it would comfortably accommodate up to 6 people.

The balcony is large with a wonderful view over the town of Masaskala yet it is only about 150 yds from the sea front.

This little town offers a wide selection of local restaurants all of which overlook the sea front, local supermarkets are close to hand and a wonderful bakery just a short walk away.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the property owners could not have been more friendly and helpful.

The apartment is serviced by a lift making access very easy, local busses run frequently to Valetta and Marsaxlokk and there are numerous bus stops nearby.

We travelled by bus for the first couple of days and then rented a car very reasonably. (this was arranged very quickly and efficiently through the apartment owners).

Sea and sunbathing is a short walk away, the sea is crystal clear and easily accessed from the rocks by ladders/steps into the water. There is also a small sandy beach probably about a 15 minute walk away.

I would not hesitate to return, and hope I shall one day soon. Masaskala is just the right size to have everything you need with the unspoilt charm of a typical Mediterranean fishing village. Quite delightful - and thank you Roberta and family for making us so welcome. When I come back to Malta this is where I shall stay!

Lives up to it's description - would recommend!

We (a family of two adults and two teenagers) stayed in this apartment for ten days in August 2014. The description and photos were accurate; the apartment was very clean and beautifully furnished to a high standard. Everything worked well and the air-conditioning was excellent as the outside temperature reached 31C most days! The view from the terrace is lovely and we ate out there on several evenings as it was perfect for soaking up the local atmosphere, watching the sun go down and sitting watching the stars by candlelight with a glass of the good local (and very inexpensive) rosé wine!

The owner was very helpful, met us on arrival and left a welcome supply of food and drink basics needed for the first night and morning. She left a couple of numbers so that we could contact her day or night (although we didn't need to) and left local information for us, which was useful.

Marsaskala is a lovely harbour town. It has quite a few small shops selling basics such as water, bread, cheese, milk and beer (you need to explore the local streets to find some of them) and a couple of medium sized supermarkets that were enough for our needs, together with the lovely fresh fruit and vegetable stalls on the harbour front (about 5 minutes walk away). These stalls also sell eggs, olives, honey and the local wine! A fish van visits alongside here twice a week with very good fresh fish. There is a superb baker’s shop about 500 yards away (near the duck pond!) The local restaurants are good – lots of pizza but also fish, burgers and pasta. There is a fantastic Italian café/restaurant across the road (Frankie’s) and the food and coffee there is authentic Italian, excellent and very inexpensive.

Local buses are regular and many! You can go anywhere in Malta by bus for just €1.50 per day and we took advantage of this and went to Valletta (a must), Marsaxlokk (a picturesque fishing village) and Birzebugga (a bit more touristy – has a sandy beach though). The Marsaskala beaches are rocky but this was perfect for us as the water is crystal clear and superb for snorkelling. Just 10 minutes walk away is a perfect spot for snorkelling – ask the locals for the Marsaskala sports club.

We all had a very enjoyable holiday in South Lodge, Marsaskala and would highly recommend this apartment and area to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday, but with a lively slice of local life!

Schönes, ruhiges Appartment mit Blick auf den Hafen

Wir haben uns in Marsaskala sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Ort liegt günstig, nicht weit vom Flughafen, bleibt aber vom Fluglärm weitestgehend verschont. Zumindest zur Osterzeit ist es hier noch nicht so touristisch, abends ist es ruhig, trotzdem gibt es genügend Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Gute Busverbindungen nach Valletta. Empfehlenswert!

Great hospitality, great location, great view!

We (2 adults + boys 16, 12, and 4) spent a wonderful week in the apartment. We can confirm that it looks exactly as beautiful as the pictures indicate.Having an AC inside is great for the hottest nights, but the balcony - with awning and BBQ grill - was our favorite spot.

The location is great: Wonderful view of the Marsaskala harbour seafront, daily grocery market and restaurants just a few steps away, the bus stop for convenient trips to Valletta even closer. We also enjoyed the many nearby spots for jumping into clear waters from rocks or concrete platforms for a refreshing bath.

We agree with Patricia P and David B in using the bus for trips to Valletta, but getting to other sites and sandy beaches was much more convenient with a rental car, which Roberta and her family were very helpful in arranging for.

Finally, their hospitality and help is probably already worth five stars by itself - many, many thanks!
