Beautiful Bologna apartment

  • 5 of 5

Do we have to leave? The apartment in Bologna is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable, with many thoughtful amenities throughout. It is full of light. The bedroom is large and has a separate dressing room. The bathroom has double sinks and a very nice shower. The light-filled living and dining area is large and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped. A flight of exterior steps leads to the rooftop deck with fabulous views. We took our aperitifs on the deck each evening. The apartment is extremely well located, with grocery stores, restaurants, and tourist sites all within easy walking distance. We have stayed in several other rentals in France and Italy. This is by far the best. We recommend it highly.

Perfect Location in a Beautiful Flat in Bologna

  • 4 of 5

We loved our short but sweet visit (only 2 days) in Bologna, and our hosts Maria Cristina and her husband made it all that much more enjoyable. They were very helpful with local restaurant suggestions and taxi service. The apartment is very clean and has wonderful views from every window. It is a very lovely 3 floor apartment. If you can handle the stairs getting up to this top floor apartment, it is definitely worth it!

Beauty in Bologna

  • 5 of 5

No need to look any further -this apartment is located close to the main square, with everything you need -grocery, wine, restaurants steps from the apt. We loved the light and views. the photos don't really convey the openness. There isn't an elevator and 60 steps to the door which was only hard the first time with the bags -the payoff is the beauty at the top!

Lovely apartment in Bologna

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week & found this one of the nicest apartments we have ever rented. It is spacious, extremely comfortable and Maria has thought of everything that you would need. No long list of rules or trip to the supermarket to buy the very basics which we have sometimes found elsewhere. And of course there are the views which are amazing. We had all our breakfasts on the lower terrace and sipped our evening drinks on the large higher one - it was a bit hot up there earlier in the day as we were lucky with the sunshine throughout our stay. Both had wonderful views of roof tops and hills. The position is also ideal with the sights and restaurants within easy walking distance.

Magnificent Private Rooftop Terrace Views

  • 5 of 5

The panoramic views (of terra cotta tile roofs, churches, and surrounding hills) from the terrace were a highlight of our trip, including two candlelight dinners when the churches are lit up! We took open air buses from Piazza Maggiore to San Luca and the city which we could see from the terrace. The apartment is spacious and has lots of large windows and light streaming into the kitchen, large living room/dining room area, and entryway. The owners were very welcoming and checked with us via texts to see that we were getting along well. The kitchen is well equipped. The bed comfortable. The shower excellent. And the location could not be much better within easy walking distance to the Piazza Maggiore, etc. and VERY quiet. Yes, there are a lot of steps---from the building entrance and more within the rooms in the apartment and up to the terrace, but even at age 74 and bad knees we'd return, knowing it's worth sometimes taking the steps one at a time holding onto the railings to get such a wonderful feel of Bologna! Gracie Mille! Ciao Aloha from Hawaii!

Che bel soggiorno!

  • 5 of 5

The Atelier Marcella is a dream of an apartment. Situated right in the middle of town, but perched on top and toward the back of the building, the apartment has that elusive combination of both proximity AND quiet calm. In addition, the apartment is fully modernized, containing all of the conveniences we wanted (A.C., washing machine, fully equipped kitchen, big double-sink bathroom), plus the very nice touch of having screens on the windows (to keep out those annoying zanzare!). The views from the terrace are stunning and the sights of the city are right out the front door. The COOP grocery store directly across the street was great, too. This is one of the best apartments we've rented through VRBO.
