Very Charming. Perfect for our needs!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this home for Thanksgiving week. It was perfect. We loved it. It was so much nicer, comfy, and private than a motel room. The room sizes were perfect for the two of us. I would think that if we had another couple with us, it would have been just as comfy. There were two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which were very nice. Both bedrooms had a door to the super cute back patio area. The patio has a grill and several chairs. It was so pretty with all the plants and an awesome orange tree. The location was great, there is a coffee breakfast cafe down the street and not a bad walk to Park Ave where there are plenty of restaurants and corner stores. We rented a car during our stay. I was nervous about street parking, but did not have to be. There was plenty of street parking during the day and only one night we had to park around the corner, which wasn't bad at all. There is a driveway with the house, but it was very steep and a tight fit for the type of vehicle we rented. I personally would prefer the street parking. The neighbors are very friendly and the neighborhood was so nice. I felt very safe, not a worry at all. The owner is very nice and a great help. There was a basket with lots of brochures and leaflets to look at for things to do around town. I would highly recommend this house. My husband and I are already trying to figure out when we can come back to San Diego and we will definitely love to rent this house again.

Wonderful stay, beautiful home, with everything we needed

  • 5 of 5

I had an amazing experience staying at this beautiful home! I have no complaints. I stayed here with a few other colleagues for a work trip. There was a nice kitchen with everything we needed for our stay. The neighborhood was adorable with great restaurants, we went to El Zarape which was fabulous. The beds were comfortable and the outdoor patio was beautiful and peaceful. Mike was very responsive to emails when I needed to get in touch. I'd love to come back and stay again at this home!!

Cute convenient casa

  • 4 of 5

We (four adults) spent five nights in this lovely home. It was the perfect size for us and very quiet and comfortable. The house has so much character, the arched windows and doorways, french doors, etc. We appreciated the landscape, the exterior, and interior decor. We were so busy we did not get to fully enjoy the back yard/patio but were excited to see oranges on the tree. The location was very convenient to Balboa Park and other sights. We had a fabulous dinner at Et Voila in the Adams District but recommend not driving. Parking was impossible on Saturday night. We also walked a few short blocks to Park Blvd and had a good dinner at ParkHouse Eatery.

Parking at the casa also became an issue on the weekend, when more people parked on the street and didn't move. We had two vehicles, and the house has only a short narrow driveway available for parking. Because of retaining walls on either side of the driveway you need to be sure your car is narrow enough that you can still open your doors to exit after parking. One of our vehicles was a van and too large for the driveway, the other, a Nissan Sentra, just barely fit. Despite this we definitely recommend this property and if we return will strongly consider staying. again.

Charming Casita for a Beautiful Weekend in Sunny San Diego!

  • 5 of 5

A cute house with vintage details, we very much enjoyed our stay at the Spanish Casita! Excellent location (close to downtown, Balboa Park, and freeways) and lots of cute little places in the neighborhood. The two bedrooms are very nice, both with french doors to the relaxing patio. Check out was a breeze, and the owners were very accommodating! Definitely recommend!

An absolute gem !!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I with one of our grown daughters visited San Diego from Canada for 4 days / 3 nights to attend the christening of our grand-daughter.

We have stayed in many VRBO's throughout California and this, in our view, is unquestionably the best.

The relative proximity to everything we need meant that for the first time we did not need to rent car.

The Casita is spotlessly clean, well-furnished and outfitted with everything one might need.

The back yard is an oasis where we spent relaxing hours with our family.

We "will" be back !

Thank you.

Location, charm and comfort!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, along with my parents, were in San Diego visiting my daughter (her hubby and the grands). This house was all that we expected and more. My grand daughter loved the fountains and the grown ups loved a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night in the back garden.

My hubby and I have rented many homes in our travels and this one is among our tops for sure! The pictures are true to life (the property is that gorgeous). The house is clean and comfortable. The location is close to everything. We met several of the neighbors and let me tell you ... I'm ready to move and join this community! The kitchen. Was well stocked (though we never cooked). The only thing we lacked were wash cloths in the bathroom ... But we were so busy we never notified anyone so it's not a complaint. Honestly, this house was comfortable and charming and soooo San Diego I can't wait to come back.
