About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Our guests say it best ......!!

'My wife, mom, two sons, and nephew all spent a week here in June and had the most wonderful time. I will surely want to stay here again. The process was smooth and the owners answered all our questions upfront and in a timely fashion. The accommodations were very comfortable and we settled in easily. My mother was so grateful to have a nice big bedroom to sleep in and privacy on the patio to relax and read. Over all this place is very nicely located, has plenty of room, is private, and feels like home almost right away. I can surely see this being our 'homeaway' in Santa Fe.'

Attractive, colorfully-decorated two bedroom, two bath home with central air conditioning within walking distance of the Plaza. This home is situated to take full advantage of outdoor living. There is a large patio which wraps completely around from the dining room to the bedrooms. Our home is next to an acre of green belt giving a feeling of wilderness and privacy.

The Chef's kitchen is fully equipped, including an under-counter wine cooler, and adjacent sunny (South facing) breakfast room.

There are two large bedrooms (both with TVs and King beds) on the main floor, both have sliding glass doors leading to a secluded patio area to enjoy your morning coffee. The den / office, on a lower floor (with two twin beds) is the perfect 'entertainment' center, with TV/DVD, high speed cable internet connection, with both direct connection to your computer or wireless.

The main living room, with kiva fireplace, faces South with great views of the Sandia, Ortiz and Cerrillos mountains and at night, a city lights view.

There is a retractable awning on the front balcony which provides day-time shade. The lucky people who are here during the Zozobra festival in September will have a birds eye view of the fireworks and burning of old man gloom in Fort Marcy Park, just down the hill.

The overall setting of our home, like the newly-refurbished decor, is very Santa Fean; with dirt roads, no street lights and little or no traffic, yet within 0.7 miles from the North edge of the Plaza. There is a two car garage, with additional parking.

About Robert

My husband and I starting coming to Santa Fe several years ago to attend the summer opera performances. One thing lead to another and soon we were looking at real estate to get a permanent foothold on Santa Fe. We were lucky to find a place in a great location and have been spending more and more time in Santa Fe. We love to share our home and hope that others will enjoy it as much as we do.

Robert purchased this house in 2006

Why Robert chose North Hills

Our home is located on the North edge of Fort Marcy Park and is less than a mile from the plaza. It is in a private area with no traffic and the setting is very Santa Fean with unpaved streets and no street lights. It is very quiet and peaceful and yet it is very close to the plaza and Canyon Road.

Loved it!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Casa Serena! We stayed there over Christmas! We would definitely stay there again. It was too cold to walk to Plaza so we used Uber. Easy peasy.

If you are going for Christmas do not expect it to be decorated. I asked if it would be ok to take a small artificial tree. They were fine with that as long as we didn't leave it for cleaning people to pick up. It was fun to take the kids homemade ornaments from 20 years of christmas's. We bought chili pepper Christmas lights while we were in Plaza to hang on tree. My 20 and 21 year old kids loved it!

Kitchen had everything I needed to make a Christmas dinner. But if there is something specific you may need you may need to ask first. Like a hand mixer or turkey roasting pan etc...

Fireplace was perfect! They even had some wood for us to use. Not sure that is always the case but it was nice to have.

Plenty of towels. Not many wash cloths but that was no biggie. Washer and dryer was great! Take your own laundry soap.

The view off living room patio is perfect for watching sunsets! I think that may have been one of my favourite things about it!

I was a little surprised the house was attached to another house. Not sure if it should be called a townhouse or duplex or patio home but once you were inside you never even noticed.

We really loved the home so we will try to stay there again when we go back to SantaFe!

Perfect location for our family

  • 4 of 5

We spent a week at Casa Serena with our children (ages 8 and 12) and my parents. The location allowed us to walk to the historic plaza, restaurants, and museums. The nearby park and arroyo gave us places to play and exercise. The views from the house are fabulous.

We had great weather so didn't spend too much time inside, but the house had everything we needed to do a full Thanksgiving dinner, puzzles and games for keeping us busy and lots of room.

Lovely duplex. Great location

  • 5 of 5

This was a lovely spacious duplex for a family of 5. I would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. Great location in that we were able to walk to downtown Santa Fe but felt secluded with privacy. Had everything we needed to cook and have a nice meal as well.

Perfect location and a lovey house

  • 4 of 5

Casa Serena is a great house in a wonderful neighborhood. The location made it easy to explore the Santa Fe area. Taos, Ojo Caliente, Bandilier, and Tent Rocks were easy day trips. It was perfect for two couples or a family. The house was well stocked with necessary supplies. Much more relaxing than staying in a hotel. I will recommend it to friends and anyone else who wants to explore that area.

The owner was very responsive. He provided information on the house immediately after the final payment and refunded the deposit quickly.

Very adequate accomodations

  • 4 of 5

Had a great time, and it was a good location. We would suggest, to make it complete, soap in the bathrooms, and adequate working lamps in the living room. Nice kitchen that functioned well for four cooks.

Owner's Response: Dear guests, we are SO sorry that you did not appreciate the large bottles of Bodywash and Shampoo that we provide in each bathroom. We will absolutely provide soap as well in the future. Thank you so much for keeping us on our toes!
