About Danny and Joni Scott

My husband and I were married in August of 2006. The day before our wedding my husband agreed to purchase (without telling his future wife) this house from his family. In October of 2006 the purchase was finalized, and we began renovations! Our first weekly rental reservation was made in the mist of the renovations February 2007, at that time we had no windows in the house. The reservation was the driving force to complete the renovations in just 8 months.

My husband Dan was born and raised in Northport, and I grew up in Northern Michigan, and moved to Northport in 1998. Danny has owned his own business since 1999 as a Builder, and I am the Village of Northport Elected Clerk since 2010. We have three kids, twin daughters and one son.

Great house w/ comfortable everything

  • 5 of 5

House was great. Location ideal. Fully stocked with quality items from kitchen to bedding. Bedrooms are large and common space is very open. Highlight of the property is the front porch. Look forward to renting again in near future.

Great House, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I, our two adult daughters, their spouses and our two grandkids stayed at the Beach House for a week earlier this summer. The house is beautiful and comfortable and it has lots of bedrooms and a big kitchen. We spent a lot of time on the big front porch and ate our dinners together there each night! The backyard is big and very nice too. We set up our badminton net and a soccer net for the kids. The location of the house is fantastic; it is right across the street from the beach and marina and a couple of blocks from the grocery store, shops and restaurants. We like Northport because it isn't quite as busy and touristy as some of the other cities on the Leelanau Peninsula, yet is within reasonable driving distance if you want to take a road trip. We had such a good time we are renting the house again next summer!

Beautiful Lakefront Property

  • 5 of 5

We had an incredible 3 days at Joni and Daniel's home in Northport. The area itself is gorgeous with plenty of outdoor activities and small towns to explore. The house was absolutely perfect for our group of 8 adults (and certainly would have been comfortable for several additional guests). The house looks out to Lake Michigan with a beach at your doorstep. The front porch overlooks the water while the back deck has a place to eat and a nice grill. Inside the house is beautiful- restored from its 1850s charm, very spacious, and with an updated kitchen. The photos do not do this place justice! Joni and Daniel were very responsive and answered all our questions prior to our trip. Check in and check out were easy. We would love to stay here again!

We loved the house. Great location close to town (we walked to everything in town within a few mins) and right on the lake - beautiful view to wake up to and enjoy morning coffee. Beds were really comfortable with great bedding (pottery barn). House was roomy and well set up with one bedroom on the main level (queen), and 2 kings, one queen and a set of doubles upstairs (5 bedrooms total, 2 baths). Bathrooms clean and well stocked with towels. Kitchen had everything we needed. Massive backyard with grass and tons of chairs if you were to have a larger group. Quiet and comfortable! Payment was straightforward and we felt the house was a great price for how nice it is and location!

Perfect Vacation Rental

  • 4 of 5

The Beach House was just wonderful. Newly updated, but with classic charm. The location is perfect - grocery store, bakery, ice cream shop, restaurants and wine tasting, all just around the block, and a beautiful well-maintained beach just across the street. We had 3 families stay together, for a total of 6 adults and 4 children, and the house was very comfortable for all. We definitely plan to return next year!
