Built in 1858, this historic house has a lot of charm. With original hardwood floors throughout, a big wrap around porch, and views of the Grand Traverse Bay. The Beach House is located directly across from the public beach and marina in Northport. Just a short walk to all the amenities that Northport has to offer.
Newly renovated the home has been fully updated with stainless steel appliances, beautiful furniture, and a relaxing color scheme throughout.
No matter what kind of vacation you are planning, the Beach House is a great home away from home, with all the amenities.
My husband and I were married in August of 2006. The day before our wedding my husband agreed to purchase (without telling his future wife) this house from his family. In October of 2006 the purchase was finalized, and we began renovations! Our first weekly rental reservation was made in the mist of the renovations February 2007, at that time we had no windows in the house. The reservation was the driving force to complete the renovations in just 8 months.
My husband Dan was born and raised in Northport, and I grew up in Northern Michigan, and moved to Northport in 1998. Danny has owned his own business since 1999 as a Builder, and I am the Village of Northport Elected Clerk since 2010. We have three kids, twin daughters and one son.
Danny and Joni Scott purchased this house in 2006
This home was great for our family vacation. Northport and the local area is very family friendly. Lots to do. Weather was great.
The house was great for our whole family. Three generations stayed for a week. We know and love Northport.
The house was clean, well maintained, beautiful landscaping, great backyard. With a family of children ages 6-18, the yard provided excellent play opportunities along with public waterfront and park in the front. The park/beach got very crowded, as would be expected, but we benefitted by having our boat in a protected slip in the marina just 100 yards away. The beds were very comfortable, the linens lovely and the kitchen well equipped. I would recommend this property to families who love to be outdoors, able to take advantage of the biking, boating, paddle boarding, and swimming. It is not at all private so don't rent if you are looking for a romantic getaway! Being able to walk to groceries, restaurants, ice cream and bakery were ideal. Thank you!
House was great. Location ideal. Fully stocked with quality items from kitchen to bedding. Bedrooms are large and common space is very open. Highlight of the property is the front porch. Look forward to renting again in near future.
The Beach House is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The beach is just a walk across the street and was perfect for my grandchildren ages 3 and younger. The sand is smooth and soft and the water is clean and shallow. Beach toys and chairs were readily available at the house. We ate dinner every night on the beautiful wrap around front porch with the lake view and nice breeze. It was easy to prepare food in the kitchen and outdoor gas grill or get a carry out from various restaurants within walking distance. My three children, their spouses, and children had a relaxing and wonderful week in Northport. If there was anything negative, it would be that the upstairs 4 bedrooms did not have air conditioning. The downstairs was plenty cool, but it was a bit warm upstairs, even though the evening temperatures were in the 60's. It is my understanding after talking with Dan, that they are working on getting this problem remedied in the next year. We plan on returning for another family week at the Beach House next summer.
