Sorry to say but this house is no longer available. The house needs a major redo, and I may not rent it again.
The house needs about $250,000 in repairs and renovations. The house is "grandfathered in" and this is one of the very few houses that are still on the ground floor (living area) without being on stilts/piles.
I am also interested in selling the house. It is at a very good location and is a bargain.
Hi my name is Luke van Dyke and I love it here in Navarre. My dad and I go fishing right out the back door and I caught a nice fish.
Victor van Dyke purchased this house in 2004
NAVARRE BEACH IS THE LEAST KNOWN AND LEAST CROWDED BEACH IN THE AREA. UNLIKE DESTIN AND PENSACOLA BEACHES, THE CROWDS HERE ARE FAR FEWER AND A MUCH MORE RELAXED ATMOSPHERE EXISTS HERE. A FEW MILES DOWN THE STREET AND YOU CAN HAVE ALL THE BEACH YOU WANT FOR YOURSELVES.
I had been in touch w/ this property owner to rent this house for the week of Thanksgiving (e-mail trial verifying same), sent my deposit and a week later the owner sent me an e-mail informing me the house was no longer available because he rented it to someone that provided a deposit via a credit card. The owner did not ask me for a cc vs. a check, but simply informed me either would be fine, wherein I informed him I would send a check. After I sent the check, I let him know it was in the mail, asked him to let me know if did not receive it and that I would follow up the following week. Before he rented the property out from under me, he did not even provide me the courtesy of contacting me to request a cc payment so he would not rent it to the other party, wherein he could have then simply tore up my check upon receipt. This property owner and I had an agreement and breeched it! If I were you, I would not do business w/ this property owner or he may do the same to you. I’m sure you won’t approve this guest comment as that would be too ethical for someone who lacks morals …
This was a great house for our large family. Better than the pictures. Large spacious rooms and plenty of room for our 4 families to spread out in. Loved the location! We would definitely recommend this property. Hope to stay again.
Everyone in our group loved the house. Very spacious and clean. Just what we needed. We have absolutely no complaints. Hope to stay again sometime.
Our group of 15 had a great time at this huge vacation home. Having a home on the ground level was exactly what we needed for the older folks and the kids enjoyed being free to roam upstairs! The pier and fishing provided hours of fun. The linens were of good quality, the outdoor seating was plentiful, and the space was enormous.
There were a few negatives, but they did not hinder our stay. For example, the home was stocked with plenty of towels, but there were very few wash cloths. There were lots of plates and silverware, but only 4 cereal bowls and only a few cups and glasses scattered around the three kitchen areas. Be sure to pack your own paper towels and toilet paper because these were not supplied as stated in the description.
Overall, this is a great home. It is older than many of the area rentals, and it has a few battle scars, but it's certainly a great buy for the money. It was clean and a great place for our family gathering! We hope to go back on our next trip to the beach!
Our month stay was great. The location was excellent and we enjoyed fishing the sound right from the back pier in the back yard. Great house. Great owner.
My family loved Navarre Beach. The house was better than the description and pictures described. We had plenty of room for our large family. The house was fairly clean and was well stocked with necessities. The property manager came over to check on us after a big rain. There were minor leaks but we handled them by placing trash cans under them. There was nothing that hampered our stay. We enjoyed the nearby beach and walking on the pier. Fishing in the sound was amazing. I highly recommend renting a pontoon boat for cruising the sound. We had a wonderful time!
This is the second time I have stayed at this beach house. What a great house for large families. Plenty of space and great size rooms. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, two full kitchens and apartment-style bedroom downstairs. The home was very clean upon arrival. There were a few maintenance items that needed attention, but none that hindered our stay. We also understand there is little time for maintenance to take place with continuous rental. The real estate agent stopped to introduce himself and see if we needed anything. Very nice guy and seemed concerned about our comfort. I did a lot of research on homes and prices throughout Navarre Beach. We needed a larger home for two whole families to stay. Great place for the price. The owner is very easy to work with and we look forward to staying there again. Love love love Navarre Beach!!
Sleepy Navarre is the least known beach community on the Emerald Coast. It is surrounded by Pensacola Beach to the West (17miles) and Fort Walton Beach and Destin to the East (11 and 20 miles). If you don't like the holiday crowds and traffic, then Navarre is for you. A new Walmart Superstore is 4 miles away and several other malls and stores are but a short drive away. Boat launch facility on the island and dock directly behind the house.
