Former Winery Recently Restored In A Modern Style

The house is ideal either for families or groups of friends, with plenty of room - 5 Double Bedrooms, and one spare room with a double sofa bed. 2 bedrooms have a mezzanine sleeping area, maximizing the available space.

There are 3 full bathrooms, 2 with baths and separate showers, one with large walk-in shower. 1 additional toilet on the ground floor, plus another outside.

The living areas are open plan, with a large living room with sofas, TV and a fireplace open to the fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Upstairs , there is an additional TV area with sofas and home cinema. WiFi throughout.

Large glass and iron doors open out to the garden and swimming Pool, which is surrounded by sun loungers and chairs to relax in. The garden is walled and to the rear of the property and so very private and quiet. The garden continues the modern style of the house, yet with local traditional plants, such as lavender, a 100yr old olive tree and a palm tree.

The outdoor space has several shaded areas, and outdoor dining tables and chairs. There is a covered outdoor bar with fridge, dishwasher, sink, outdoor gas grill and bbq.

For activities outside, there is a Ping Pong table and Petanque pitch.

Off street parking is available although there is lots of spaces available on the road outside the house.

Having grown up in the south of France, I moved to Paris first when I was 22 for work, but I always spent as much time as I could in my native area. Now living in London, I keep going down south to get some better weather ! I enjoy spending time here with my family and friends, getting to the beach, and playing tennis and petanque.

Why Marc Deroudilhe chose Lunel area

I bought this house in the village I grew up in, to have a place close to my family, and stay in touch with my roots.

What makes this villa unique

The house was built in the 19th century, and originally it was a full winery (Maison de Vigneron). It badly needed some work when I bought it. It was renovated by the best workers of my area, with a modern touch but in full respect of the original spirit of the house. The work took 2 years and I hope you enjoy staying here as much as I do.

The stone stairway, the old wooden gates were kept, and much of the orignal stones have been allowed to remain visible, along with the huge original oak beams. The ceilings height in some parts reaches 6 metres, and after removing some walls to open up the space, I have tried to create a bright spacious living area that works well for families and groups of friends.

With the typical hot summers of the South of France, we spend most of the time outside, and large shady areas provide ideal eating and relaxing areas, alongside the pool. There is a large open-plan kitchen opening out to the garden, and also an outdoor bar area, with storage and a dishwasher near the bbq and outdoor grill (plancha) to make outdoor living easy!

The garden also has a ping pong table and a petanque area.

Fabulous Villa, beautifully restored, very tasteful. 12 of us stayed there, lots of room.

Fabulous large Villa, beautifully restored. Marc the owner was amazing to communicate with, very efficient. There were 12 of us staying at the Villa, it is stunning, lots of room and all the rooms tastefully decorated and furnished and very clean too. Baillargues train station is minutes walk away, giving easy access to Montpellier and Nimes and more. Also local supermarket and deli and bakeries, all a short walk away, all very well stocked meaning we didn't even hire a car. The Villa is well stocked with plenty of nice cutlery, crockery, glasses, Nespresso Coffee machine, American fridge/freezer with ice maker, 2 large modern televisions and more..... The garden gets the sun all day, but always shade can be found too. It even has a dedicated Boules area. The Villa allowed us the have a wonderful memorable family holiday, thank you Marc, we would thoroughly recommend your Villa :) From Sara in Hampshire in England

Fantastic property!

We loved this house! It is so well kept and perfect for a big group on holiday. The outside space and pool is fantastic. Would recommend this villa to anyone and will 100% visit again.

Fabulous stay!

A beautifully restored villa only 40 mins from Bezziers airport. We rented this Villa for a week for 10 people and it was perfect. The inside and outside areas are ideal for socialising whilst the house is designed with each bedroom in its own area so maximum privacy and space too. The pool is beautiful and perfect to cool down in and great for kids and adults alike. The table tennis table and bar outside created a great atmosphere and definitely added value to our stay. Marc was very helpful and the property was lovely and clean- and in great condition. There was a heat wave when we stayed and no air con but there were fans in all the bedrooms which was great! The villa most certainly made the trip and i would 100% recommend and would love to go again! Thanks again to Marc and his family!

A fine holiday home

Absolutely overwhelmed by this house. Stunning, and completely hidden away from the front main road. The pool was a great size and clean. Whole house was clean, things were easy to find and very spacious. Shops were a 10 minute walk which was also great. Perfect for a group our size (8-12 people) one of the best villas I have ever stayed in, highly recommend

Stayed 8th - 15th July 9 Adults perfect luxury

The house does not look like much from the outside but as soon as you come in the drive its impossible not to love it. The outdoor area is perfect for socialising and relaxing. Inside there is enough room comfortably for 10-12 adults and it has all the modern luxuries you need. Only suggestion would be air con units as the house retains the heat but we stayed during the heat wave so this may not be an issue other times of the year.

As regards to Air Cons, it was our decision not to put them in when we renovated the house, because these old stone houses tend to stay cool even in heat waves, as long as you remain organised about closing the shutters during the day, and opening them to create air breeze when the sun moves, and rotating this during the day. I take full responsibility for not having explained that properly to your group when you arrived, and I will make sure going forward that this information is provided at arrival.

Très bon séjour

Nous avons séjourné presque 4 mois dans cette belle maison, nous avons donc eu le temps de l'apprécier ! La situation géographique est idéale : 5 min d'un grand centre commercial, 15 min de Montpellier et 20 petites minutes des plages. Tout cela en restant au calme et à l'abri d'un beau et vaste jardin sans vis à vis.

Tous les espaces sont conviviaux et permettent d'accueillir 12 personnes à l'extérieur et une dizaine à table à l'intérieur. 3 enfants peuvent toutefois manger en plus sur l' îlot central de la cuisine attenante à la salle à manger.

Les équipements de la maison sont parfaits, il manquerait seulement une chaise dans les 2 chambres d'amis et... une râpe à fromage ;))

Le propriétaire est très réactif et à l'écoute.
