wow!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time! Every detail was better than we expected and when I requested service on an item it was resolved in minutes.

My family of 10 could not have found a better place to spend quality time together.

My six year old grandaughter called the house her castle!

I wouldn't hesitate using your service again.

Best Regards,

George

a real gem!

  • 5 of 5

What a breathtaking retreat. My family and I were fortunate enough to spend some time at the chateau this season and what a treat. This house is perfect for accommodating a family with different interests. Whether its a game of pool, a soak in the hot tub with incredible views, a big screen for the kids, and my favorite acres of land surrounding us to explore on my snowshoes. We've already began planning out next escape from the city to this little gem.

Thanks

Best Ski Vacation Ever!

  • 5 of 5

Unbelievable time! The home was beautiful. We normally ski Deer Valley. This home would have cost 3 times as much. Luv it, Luv it!

One of my favorite vacations - ever!

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I came here last spring with some friends to go skiing and fell in love with this house. The skiing was great, very convenient to 3 ski resorts, we enjoyed it so much that we came again this fall. My family met at the house for a family reunion, it was one of my favorite vacations - ever. We try to get together every year and this house was perfect us. There are so many public spaces that it worked out great, some of us could be in one room playing board games, while others were playing pool and still others had a place to curl up and read a book, and the view -WOW- it's just incredible, the fall colors were breathtaking and we saw so much wildlife that my mom spent a lot of time just sitting by the window to see what would show up next. It's so peaceful, we were able to spend a lot of time outside playing with the kids, going for walks, or just visiting.

It's such a refreshing change from the city, I almost feel like I was in a different world. Both times when it was time to leave I felt like I had been recharged - ready to face reality again. We will definately be back.

Dissapointed

  • 1 of 5

Our social ski group rented this place as it had the right number of rooms and looked amazing on the website. I'd be very cautious renting if you are looking for actual luxury. This place has seen finer days for sure. There were many light fixtures that were not working, we couldn't get the TV's to work and at one point there was a sound system, but it has been replaced by a cheap stereo that does not project at all throughout the living areas. We were tempted to bring our skates for some hockey on the pond, glad we didn't, pond is a generous description of the swampy depression in the circular driveway. Our group likes to cook and spend chalet time together, the dining table fit us, but there was no other social area that fit more than 6 or 7. The layout of this place is wonky too. it is large but much of the space is in hallways and there are lots of locked up spaces you can't use. Further examples are a cheap and very used BBQ, cooking for large groups was a challenge with just a couple of hotspots of heat. Overall, this place could be great but the descriptions are not accurate. If you want a frat house feel, this would work for sure.

Owner's Response: The guest upon departure said in a e-mail the following"Hi John, We have enjoyed our stay" In a separate follow up e-mail he said, "Hi John, We enjoyed our stay there". This is simply retaliation. Our property manager gave the guest a warning regarding leaving the place unlocked and two many guest. The place was left a mess. We had to bring in extra housekeeping to get it ready for the next guest. Our great room is over 1200 sq ft . We have dining seating for 24. Our great room has 2 large leather wing chairs, a 4 ft and a 8 ft sofa. We also have a billiards room which 2 overstuffed leather chairs and a six foot sofa. We have 5 flat panel televisions and a 2 surround sound systems with indoor and outdoor settings. We do not claim to have a music intercom. We do not claim to have a professional skating ring. We simply have a pond which freezes over and you are welcome to use. We do though have a lake and a ring in town if you are interested in skating. We did try to resolve this in a mutually favorable way with this guest and were not able to. We are sadden to get any bad review. We will continue to focus on improving the experience for our guest.

One word says it all... FANTASTIC!

  • 5 of 5

This will be our 5th stay at The Chateau. We love it here! It is the perfect retreat for big families or groups of friends who want to vacation together. You can all stay under one roof. There are large group spaces as well as private bedroom oasis. Your first impression will be of grandeur but you will quickly feel right at home. The views are amazing with lots of wildlife - deer, fox, eagles, moose and horses. This is a great place to feel as if you are away from it all. The kids have fun watching movies in the theater, playing Wii or billiards and most of all, gigantic games of hide-n-go seek. At dusk you can sit in the hot tube and watch the sunset on the mountains. There is plenty to do on the property but better yet you are only minutes from 2 great ski resorts - Snow Basin and Powder Mountain! A big kitchen and outside grill allow you to make dinner at home after a full day of activity.

The management is very accommodating and helpful. They really want you to enjoy their property and take care of it as if it were their own. You can't ask for more than that!

The Chateau is a great place to stay. Whether you come in the winter or summer, there is so much to do. There is easy access to the mountains, lakes and great restaurants in Ogden. I would highly recommend The Chateau to anyone looking to stay in this area.
