Thanks so much for a lovely stay. We so enjoyed our walk along the shore to Corn Hill Beach. The children love exploring the river and marshes at low tide.
Thanks for sending our forgotten items.
Hope to return next year for another family reunion.
Just came back from a wonderful trip to Truro. My family has been vacationing in Truro since 1997, but it was the first time in this house. It certainly will not be the last. It has a rustic charm and is quite cozy. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were all comfortable. There are some updates needed (the outdoor furniture is starting to show wear and the path down to the marsh is a bit sketchy), but overall it adds to the charm. The outdoor shower was perfect for hosing off the kids...and the kids loved the house too. A great yard and driveway to play in.
All of that aside, the BEST part of the house is the view! Watching the tide go in and out on the Pamet marshes was fantastic. It is also less than a mile walk to Corn Hill Beach through some back roads. When the kids are a bit older they can certainly walk themselves.
We are already plotting our return to this house next year and many more years to come.
Our autumn week here really couldn't have been nicer. The location is perfect—views at all hours across the tidal Pamet River, an interesting, sheltered walk to Corn Hill Beach (where we saw seals early on two mornings). The house is extremely comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked, both the living room and porch room are very cosy, and the bedroom quiet and peaceful. The roomy deck overlooks the river views and the house is so private, you really do feel as if the entire hill is yours.
The appliances were in fine condition. We're hoping to return.
The magic of Cape Cod and Truro are captured in the location and setting of this wonderful property. The house has an abundance of charm, it is very well-equipped, and the view is magnificent. The owner was very helpful in calling and helping us to retrieve an item we inadvertently left behind. He was also wonderful in letting us bring our beloved golden retriever with us on vacation!
If you want a private, wonderful view, rustic, authentic Cape Cod cottage experience - this property cannot be beat - we cannot wait to return again next Summer!
We extended our stay for a few weeks at the end of the season into early fall with surprisingly warm and wonderful weather. We love the Cape during the off season and especially enjoyed our stay at this charming location. The owner provided us with lots of recommendations along the outer cape. We truly felt like locals and whenever someone asked where we lived, they seemed to know this cottage. The location cannot be beat. We felt as if we owned the entire back side of the hill, it's so private. We also met some great people. THANKS so much for a wonderful, peaceful time in your home.
My family and I spent 2 weeks this past August at the house, and it was one of our best vacations. Extremely private, incredible views, and just a wonderful place to relax and decompress. The sunsets and the nightscapes are breathtaking! This was our second visit and we plan on more visits!
The cottage was as pictured and described, old, comfortable and with a fantastic view. The galley kitchen was well equipped and quite workable. We appreciated the choice of eating spots and usually opted for the screened porch table or the outside picnic set. There were many "curl up to read areas". If you want "matchy", fancy, sleek design, this is not the house for you.
A couple of things that were in need of addressing: The path to the shore is too badly eroded to be used safely....a major disappointment.
The screen door to the porch has been ripped off and needs replacing.
Cleaning crew could pay more attention to the lower level and under furniture.
The rest of the old, time-worn furnishings did not detract from the comfort of the cottage and led to that vacation game: "what we could do with this, if it were ours".
The beds were comfortable. The starscape, landscape and waterscape delighted our party of 3 artists.
The problem with our week there? it ended too soon.
