About Ornella Bragaglia

Piero is a forestry researcher. Ornella is a painter-restorer. They both love outdoor activities, like mountain-biking, hiking and running. They also enjoy arts and cultures. They have two children, Matteo and MariaSole, with whom they share traveling in Italy, and abroad, discovering the nature, culture and arts of new countries.
Ornella Bragaglia purchased this Apartment in 2012
Why Ornella Bragaglia chose Orvieto
The medieval charm, the panoramic view, the silence, the history of the district of San Giovenale(which takes its name from the nearby eleventh century church)... these are the house characteristics attracting us since we moved to Orvieto. We bought this house in love with the atmosphere that you breathe ... just a few steps, however, from monuments, restaurants, shops When we do not have guests we galdly spend a few days in our little paradise!
What makes this Apartment unique
The original stone arches, wooden beams, the medieval cistern, courtyard garden, the panoramic window completely immerse you in the mood of Orvieto, allowing you to still relax in the tranquility of a quiet and typical neighborhood, far from the chaos of mass tourism

Amazing place to stay
Beautiful place! the hosts were great and picked us up as dropped us off at the train station. They were super helpful and recommended places to eat and see. The view was amazing and amenities were great.
Amazing property with Amazing Hosts
Have you ever wanted to live in a medieval house in the heart of a medieval Hill town in Umbria?.. Then Casa San Giovenale is the place to be. We can't say enough positive things about Ornella & Piero. They never made us feel like we were asking too much about restaurants etc and Ornella's recommendations were superb. The location is ideal... with views to take your breath away... so close to the centre with grocery stores, wine stores etc. very close by as well as a fresh bakery just steps away. The house is beautifully decorated with funky art etc. and attractive comfortable furnishings. Ornella will meet you at the house and take you to park your car (for free) which is a real bonus! Thank you. Mille Grazie. Susan and Graham
Exceeded our Expectations!
Don’t look any further for the perfect place to rent in Orvieto! Quiet, comfortable with the most helpful and charming hosts! The history of the home, the location to town, the amenities are everything you want to immerse yourself in the wonderful village of Orvieto ❤️
Fantastic with minor caveats
Absolutely wonderful place to experience Orvieto: we spent 6 days discovering every day. The views were gob smackingly good. On map looks out of the way but really thats why it is so good; orvieto is fairly small and we fiund we were less than 100m from the bus that circulates through the important places about every 20 minutes and is FREE when you have bought your "unica carta" from shop next door to tourist info, this gets you into everything and is essential. There are a few local shops: bakery is good, butcher good, alimentari "caponeri" makes fantastic daily dishes - order early (on your way into town) to avoid disappointment, they will keep it for you.
Finally, there are mosquitos so personal insect repellant or spray if they worry you.
We stayed from July 20 - July 24, 2019 and is was without a doubt absolutely fantastic. Cannot say enough about this property and our host Ornella. Ornella is a very passionate and caring person and we took an instant liking to her. She was truly excited about us staying in her home in Orvieto and her pride of ownership shows around every corner. She took time to get us settled and explained everything about the house and recommended various areas of interest and showed us where all the best restaurants and shops were, which I might add plenty of. The property and area is full of history which we found to be enchanting and has the most breathtaking views. The house itself was nicely decorated comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean, it even had a small terrace complete with a Weber charcoal BBQ. We feel fortunate that we that we were able to stay in this charming house and if you are lucky enough to stay here you will not be disappointed. We found Orvieto to be a magical place and we highly recommend staying here. Missing it already. Terry Ann & Roger Hills, Burlington, ON Canada
Unbelievable stay with a breathtaking view!
This place absolutely blew us away, not only with its incredible view and location, but also with its artwork, "cool factor," amenities, ease in check-in, and the warmth and kindness of its owners. We can't highly recommend it enough! It is located right at the edge of the historic part of town in a quiet location that not many tourists know about right near the Chiesa Di San Giovenale. It's like you get your own private view of the picturesque Umbrian valley. You'll also get your own private courtyard to relax or hang your laundry in. The owners, Ornella & Piero actually saved us a parking spot, helped us unload our luggage, then drove us back up to the apartment once we'd parked our car in our saved spot. The apartment is full of artwork done by Ornella, and is just as interesting to look at as Orvieto itself. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and would stay much longer than only 2 nights!
