When you approach Bartal Haut you will see the ancient farm nestled in a crook of the hill. The old farmhouse is flanked on both sides by an old barn, an "auvent" open barn, and an old pigsty. This horseshoe of buildings surround a warm sheltered courtyard.
The dining room and the living room both open directly onto the courtyard - giving you the opportunity to truly live outdoors. The old breadoven with adjoining open barn is the perfect place to enjoy and while away those lazy afternoons in between visits to the swimming pool. Here you will find comfortable sofas, a ping pong table, a dartboard, and a wooden chest filled with other outdoor toys to keep everyone entertained.
In the living room a wood burning stove provides a cosy atmosphere should the evenings prove a little fresh. The elegant dining room leads on to the kitchen, located in what was the old "chai", where they made and stored wine. It now contains a luxurious and modern kitchen - all of the comforts of home. Large patio doors open out onto a terrace with a stunning view of the valley, where you can take in the view that changes with the weather and the seasons.
Just off from the kitchen is a utility room and a shower room with toilet. There is also access from this room on to a separate terrace which overlooks the swimming pool, and where you can catch the first of the morning sun.
On the first floor there are three good size bedrooms. One bedroom has a king-size bed, the second has a double, and the third has two singles which can be converted into bunkbeds. There is also a family-sized bathroom with a bath and shower over.
Gardens, Pool and Surroundings
Attached to the farmhouse is the "auvent", the open barn and old bread oven. These have been lovingly restored and the old oven would once have provided the bread for all of the neighbouring houses. A further two barns and pigsty make up the horseshoe of buildings around the courtyard, which is a real sun-trap. There are plenty of areas in which you can relax and play, whether under cover or basking in the sunshine.
To the rear of the large barn, between the house and the woods, you will find the large swimming pool, which is fenced off from the house so that you can relax when you visit with young children. The access to the pool is also very child-friendly, three large steps lead down to the pool which at its deepest is 170cm. A wide terrace surrounding the pool provides you with a perfect place to relax and play.
Slightly up the hill under the shade of two ancient apple trees you will find a little play park with swing, see-saw and mini-trampoline.
The property boasts grounds of 9 hectares of fields and woodland all of which you can explore during your stay. There is access to footpaths for those who enjoy country walks.
