Excellent vacation spot!
Soliman Bay is a quiet, private beach with little traffic other than the pelicans an a few kayaks. We enjoyed getting to know some of our neighboring beachcombers and the easy access to many of the top tourist locations. Although our family of 6 had their dream vacation at Los Tulipanes, on Soliman Bay, one week did not give us enough time for all the snorkeling, scuba diving lessons, temple climbing, and sun bathing that is offerred at this heavenly spot. We need to book again! Thank you Bill for making your home available to us and Gracious Vincente for taking care of us.
We hope to return.
I am glad you and your family had a great time.
Mi casa es su casa. Come back any time.
Comfortable home in a relaxing environment
Casa Los Tulipanes is a wonderful beach house. Perfect for 2 couples and the proximity to the beach is perfect. Just step outside and you're on the beach. Snorkeling in the bay is amazing....we saw turtles, sting rays, barracuda and dozens of others. Highly recommend this house.
Casa Los Tulipanes can truly be summed up in one word: paradise. Just imagine stepping out from your own back patio directly onto a pristine beach in the middle of a serene, quiet bay of turquoise water. Watch pelicans diving for their breakfast while the sun rises over the Caribbean. Spend the day relaxing on what is for all intents and purposes your own private beach, then eating a delicious meal prepared by a chef in your home. It doesn't get better than this.
We stayed here for a magical week - myself, husband, 2 young kids, and grandma. We all agreed this was one of our best vacations ever. The kids (aged 6 and 8) could not get enough of the calm, warm bay waters, seeing fish through crystal clear water, and spotting turtles. The grownups loved lounging in the palapa, the comfortable, clean house, and talking over our next excursions with Rosa, the fantastic property manager and all around guide. Carlos is the chef and his coconut shrimp and flan were the best I've ever tasted. Bill, the owner, was also so helpful answering questions in advance.
We visited Akumal and Tulum on our trip and were so glad we decided to stay here instead. This beach here is just as beautiful and so much quieter and more relaxing. We are also not all-inclusive types - when we travel we want to get AWAY from crowds and structured activities. This was absolutely perfect for us, and if you're okay with a little shopping, cooking, and driving, this will be great for you too.
A few tips: have Carlos cook you dinner on your day in. It was wonderful to arrive to a home cooked meal and not have to worry about shopping or finding a restaurant after flying in. Ask Rosa for restaurant and trip ideas, she never led us astray! Our trip highlights were biking at Coba at dawn and Cenote Labnaha. However, there is so much to do here, you can't go wrong.
We have stayed at many VRBOs over the years and this is our #1. Thank you so much to Bill, Rosa, and Carlos for a fantastic week!
Beautiful, quiet, great for a family
Beautiful home, quiet beach. We loved snorkeling right out front and saw many fish among the small coral reef. I loved the hammocks under the shade. My kids played in sand, collected shells, played in the waves. Very close to Tulum, we enjoyed Coba ruins and seeing a Mayan village, kids liked Xel-ha. This is a great base for a visit to the area. I enjoyed it much more than the town of Tulum itself.
We had a great time here. We were here for about 9 days. Great property, right on the beach. House was cleaned daily, which was great to keep the sand level down! Fresh towels, beach towels, etc. Cleaner even made us rice pudding one day, which was awesome and my kids loved it! Great management too, Rosa was available if we needed anything at all. The beach is very private (for Yucatan Peninsula at least), great little cabana roof, beach loungers, hammocks, kayaks, and fantastic snorkeling in the bay in front. We saw turtles, stingrays, barracuda, lobster, and a ton of other species. Highly recommend this spot, although please don't overbook it so it's available when I want to come back! :)
Fantastic All Around!
We stayed at Casa Los Tulipanes for a week and loved it! The house is beautiful, very well kept, and a great size. We had 2 families (4 adults, 3 kids and 2 babies) stay in the main house and had plenty of room. Plenty of space for hanging out inside and outside, even putting whole families in the bedrooms was fine. The beach area was beautiful and also well kept. Steps from the house, plenty of chairs, hammocks, shade, kayaks, etc. The house also had a lot of extra's (plenty of dishes (including plastic for outside), paper towels, some condiments, coffee, sugar, etc) that just made the vacation that much easier. Bill and Rosa (house manager) even started us off with some food basics! They definitely went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Rosa was almost like a concierge offering restaurant ideas, booking massages, coordinating the chef, and even coordinating a babysitter for us! We saw Rosa almost daily and she was fantastic! We had a medical emergency and Rosa called a local doc, escorted us to his office and was willing to escort us to the hospital. Even offered her clothes for our injured daughter. She absolutely went above and beyond. I can't say enough good things about Rosa and Bill and their efforts to make our stay incredible. We would stay at this house again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it. Also, definitely book the chef, he was amazing!!
Thanks so much for the kind words. I always love to hear when our guests have a fabulous time at Casa los Tulipanes.
Remember that when the memories of your last trip make you feel like coming down again for a recharge, your paradise awaits you and your family.
All the best.
The fabulous Mayan Ruins of Tulum are just 15 minutes away by car. Blue water fishing, golf, and cave diving (and cave snorkeling) and dry cave exploring are just minutes away as well. Terrific restaurants are in walking distance and others are a short car ride away. The wonderful town of Tulum, a small Mayan village near the ruins, is just 10 to 15 minutes South by car. The village of Tulum has internet access, banking, grocery stores, and shopping for all your needs. An awesome chef, who lives on the Bay, is available to prepare local cuisine for you. Just check out our guest book when you arrive to see how to contact her and arrange for a feast of your own. We also update our guestbook regularly so you know the latest of what is going on in the area. Our house manager will greet you a day after you arrive and can answer questions you may have and offer suggestions of fun excursions to local sites during your stay. Our goal is to have all of our guests enjoy a memorable vacation.
