What makes this house unique

Proximity to both lake and town make this house very convenient

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed at this adorable cabin with our children for a week in August. The house was immaculate and very comfortable and cozy. The lake was amazing and we all swam and canoed and fished off the dock most of the day. At night Great Barrington has many great places to eat or to entertain the children. The kids loved to go bowling in town. Barbara was a breeze to work with and wonderful with all her suggestions for places to eat. We are looking foward to returning again.

cute winter cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a couple days over Christmas break and were lucky to get fresh snow for our visit which made the woods very picturesque. The cottage is very well equipped and nicely decorated. The wood stove helped to keep the place warm and cozy. There was a small hill out back to sled down for the kids. The roads were a bit windy, so it was good to have 4 wheel drive in the snow.

Great fall weekend in the Berkshires

  • 5 of 5

This was a great choice for a weekend trip to the Berkshires. Approx 2.5 hrs from both Boston and NYC, the cabin is close to Berkshire destinations including Lenox, Stockbridge and Great Barrington. Kitchen is stocked with appliances and boardgames are available for use. A minute walk to the lake and access to the owner's canoe. Interiors are very clean, modern - the bedrooms can be a bit chilly so pack accordingly. Owner was very responsive to any questions or inquiries!

Cute little house.

  • 4 of 5

A little far back in the woods from the lake. We arrived with kayaks, but access to the lake is VERY steep. If you wish to paddle, suggest using boat ramp. The house Would be good for access to Butternut Ski area

Owner's Response: Sorry you did not inform us that you would be bringing kayaks otherwise we would have let you know that your kayaks can be left at our dock and do not have to be taken home after every use. This way you could have easily enjoyed beautiful Lake Buel

Perfect Weekend

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is exactly as described. Very clean. Super cute. We were four people and each of us managed to have our own space at night with a futon in both the living room and sun room, and then a queen bed in one bedroom, and two twins in another.

It's located just over the hill from the lake. Just a two minute walk. We had so much fun hanging out on the dock and paddling around the lake in the canoe. In the local surrounding area we went apple picking, did a wine tasting, bought fresh raspberries by the side of the road, hiked some neighboring trails. The location is also very convenient to Great Barrington for restaurants and groceries.

As some of the other comments mentioned, the bedroom walls don't reach the ceiling, so if you're a light sleeper, it might be tough as you can hear everything going on anywhere in the cottage. It didn't bother us one bit and we learned that this is the style of other lake houses in the area.

Would rent this place again in a heartbeat. The owners were incredibly responsive, helpful, and kind. A+

Perfect Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Super cute & cozy - perfect for our family. The lake is a 3 minute walk, where there is a great dock to swim from, fish and soak up the sunshine. Canoe was a big hit too. The cottage has everything you need; looks brand new inside. All amenities. Charcoal grill outside excellent for grilling burgers and smores. A 10-15 minute drive to awesome restaurants, donut shop, grocery store, etc. (including my personal Favorite, Four Brothers Pizza)! Wi-Fi worked great, so checking emails was not problem. I 100% recommend this property. Very neat community around the lake - super friendly neighbors and very relaxed vibe.

Cozy cottage in the Berkshires

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful getaway for our family of four and our dog. Close to Great Barrington and all the wonderful things the Berkshires offer. House is nicely renovated. Not much privacy since bedroom walls don't go up to ceiling but it was fine for us. Short walk to lake. Would be glad to stay there again.
