A beautiful property, well maintained and in a good location
We had a wonderful stay at this property, facilities were excellent and the owner Sophie and caretaker Florence were very helpful and contactable at all times. The gardens were great for young children to play in and the house was well equipped with everything we needed.
We were excited to stay in a house with a turret!
We had 11 family members and there was plenty of room and ample rooms, although another bathroom would have been great. One point to note, the stairs are very steep and narrow, and we had some grandparents in their 70s who found the stairs and uneven and sloped floors somewhat of a challenge, so needed to be on the first floor, rather than the 2nd.
The grounds are gorgeous, and we found the house plenty warm enough with the fire and heating. There are heaps of plates etc for doing your own meals.
The house is very old but this adds to the charm, just be prepared for some exercise on the stairs and for some uneven floors!
There is so much to explore around St Malo, we could have stayed longer.
Beautiful home, great stay for big family
This is a beautiful historic home a close drive to the walled city of St. Malo. The homeowner and manager were both lovely to work with, and we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the restaurant and other recommendations from Madame Kaemmerlen. The house and (extensive) grounds were a fun and comfortable place to spend time with our family, and there are a number of bedroom options to accommodate everyone. The house has a few quirks but offered a great base and wonderful experience for exploring the beautiful Breton countryside.
