Guestbook comments from the owner

Whether you like to swim, paddle around, sun bathe, sit and think or sit and soak in the sunshine, the facility is absolutely perfect for relaxing.

If you like to be inside watching TV or reading, it's great, too (more stations than I could count).

Quiet neighborhood. Close to Pasadena's Old DownTown and plenty of attractions nearby.

Attractions nearby, yes. But you can get your full value just by staying around and enjoying the premises.

Thank you for a great stay.

Polynesian Paradise in Pasadena

  • 5 of 5

Traveled to Pasadena with my wife and parents for my son's graduation from APU this December. The patio with the outdoor fireplace comfortable furniture and lights helped make the graduation party a lot of fun. We did not use the pool but enjoyed the hot tub. The Polynesian decor is a little over the top but works, the neighborhood is very pleseant and the location convenient. Owners were friendly and helpful, enjoyed our stay very much.

Beautiful, relaxing and charming!

  • 5 of 5

I absolutely loved my stay here! The unit is a good size for about 4 people (although I stayed here on my own). There is a nice bed and futon on the bottom floor, then two smaller (but perfectly fine) beds in the loft. The pool was great and the hot tub was better. The owners were friendly and accessible, and I appreciated how they kept things very private. I also appreciate how the owners reimburse your cleaning fee if you take some time to clean up before you leave--I wish every rental did that! Stop looking for other places and book this paradise now! :)

Paradise indeed - we're missing it terribly

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at PPinP for just under a month while in Pasadena for work: two adults and two kids aged 8 and 11 (Jama and Joanne provided a second mattress for the upstairs room). It could not have been more perfect. The accommodation is surprisingly spacious, more so than the photos suggest, and the upstairs room is surprisingly secluded from the rest of the property - no problem having lights on and talking downstairs while the kids are asleep upstairs. (The upstairs room, BTW, is accessed either through a ladder from the kitchen which goes up to a trapdoor, or through stairs which lead directly outside to the poolside.) The kitchen has all the equipment you need - two-ring burner, oven, etc etc. The pool / hot-tub is one of the best set-ups of its kind we've ever used: always warm (pool temp. never dropped below 80 throughout August), naturalistic look, beautifully lit at night, very well designed, lovely use of rocks. Jama and Joanne were endlessly helpful with suggestions, tips, helping with our questions: they were very quick to resolve any problems and were willing to go to considerable lengths to do so. You won't regret booking it - but please don't book it when we want to go back. We loved it.

Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We were looking to get away from home (but not too far) for some R&R and we most certainly did just that staying here. We rarely left the cottage because we were enjoying the beautiful lagoon-style pool as much as we could. The place is superbly clean and fresh!

Clean, Comfortable, and Convenient

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week at Polynesian Paradise. Jama was super helpful and friendly. Everything was clean and looked just like the pictures. The location is very convenient for all the LA area attractions, beaches, Disneyland. We did it all. My family and I had a wonderful time! We have stayed at a lot of different places in the LA area and this was by far the best trip as far as accommodations were concerned. What a great place and I would recommend anyone to stay here. The theme was wonderful, with so much detail. It felt like we were in California and Hawaii at the same time!

BEAUTIFUL, RELAXING, WILL BE BACK!

  • 5 of 5

This year was our second visit to the Polynesian Paradise and I am sure we will be back for a third. The setting is beautiful and serene. My son enjoyed long soaks in the hot tub and I enjoyed hours of simply floating in the pool.

The inside of the pool house is clean, feels roomy and has comfortable beds. The property was a wonderful gathering place for my family who lives close by. There was a large picnic table poolside where we could comfortably enjoy lunch and dinner that we prepared in the nicely equipped kitchen. The highlight for everyone was the pool which was ours to enjoy in peace.

The neighborhood is quiet and it is a short drive to grocery and drug stores. Instead of relaxing, one can take advantage of a myriad of local attractions such as a drive to the LA Zoo, Santa Monica Pier or any other points of interest you might choose.

The cottage is nicely priced and Jama is a friendly host.
