Ireland was #1 on my bucket list. After my trip I can say the whole week was amazing and the Cliffhouse made it even better. The house is spectacular. It is spacious, well put together and the views are out of this world. If I had one thing negative to say, I’d say it needs more than one non stick frying pan. Lol! That’s the only gripe.
Thanks Anthony. We will be back!
Beautiful view and great house
This house was perfect for our extended family visit. There was plenty of space for everyone and it was just perfect. Great gathering spaces and beautiful views. The kitchen had everything we needed. I would recommend this to home to anyone.
Near the Cliffs of Moher
If you are interested in being near the Cliffs and accessibility to the Doolin Ferry, this is a good rental property. The house is very roomy, and the inside pictures are accurate. There are 4 pubs in Doolin and all have good food and music. But, other than a few shops, there really isn't much to do in the town. However the days can be spent at the Cliffs of Moher, visiting Gallway, The Adrienne Islands and The Burren. Upon arrival, we had the feeling that they were not prepared for us. There were no instructions left for us - Wi-Fi password or explanation of all the keys, etc etc. The paper supplies were limited - for example, we had to make a trip to the corner gas station upon our arrival to obtain paper towels the first day. But all in all, it was a good rental. The only thing it didn't have, was a porch/deck to sit outside and enjoy the view. Do not think you are going to walk to the town of Doolin. You WILL need a car!
Cliffhouse is Perfect!!!
Wonderful place to stay. Nicely furnished, clean, spacious, beautiful view, nice bathrooms, great location.... Minutes from the Cliffs of Mohr, Doolin Ferry, the Burren and the bus line. Our family of five had a very enjoyable stay and our expectations were exceeded.
Amazing view and centrally located to many day trip possibilities.
We were 2 families, 4 adults and 5 children, and the house couldn't have been better. The front yard had great space for the kids to run and play while the adults enjoyed the view, and a pint, over the Aran islands and Galway bay. The house was very spacious, modern and the rooms were large, even by American standards. The Cliffs of Moher were on the same road about 6 min away. A short 4 min drive got you into the heart of Doolin, where there was plenty to eat and music to be had. Gus O'Conner's had great music, solid food and plenty of beer. Easy short day drive to Galway (1:30), Doolin Ferry to Aran Island (I recommend the high speed ferry), Ailween Caves and Falconry (35min) and more. The Cliff house was simple and a pleasure to stay at. I highly recommend it.
A big, comfy house with an amazing view. Great for a group.
I stayed at the cliff house for 3 nights with my large, multi-generational family: 2 people over 70, 6 younger adults, 2 kids, and 2 babies. It was the perfect place for us, with comfortable and clean beds, ample spacing between the rooms so that a crying baby didn't wake the whole house, lots of space for lounging, a big yard where we played catch with the kids, and a large kitchen equipped with plenty of dishes, cooking utensils, etc. (But bring your own salt, pepper, oil, coffee, etc.) We picked up the key from an activity center in town without a problem, and received careful directions to the house (which can be a bit tricky to find) from the person who gave us the key. We loved the location--just a couple minute drive from Doolin and few minutes walking to the filling station where, before it closes around 8 or 9, you can get milk, bread, beer, wine...all the staples you need. We hiked to the cliffs of Moher, explored the Burren, and took in lots of good music and pints in Doolin. (Be careful, the walk to Doolin on the narrow, unlit road is not for the faint of heart! Best with a headlamp and a large group.)
I would definitely stay here again on my next trip. Thanks, Anthony!
This region of Ireland (West Clare) is rich in archaeological remains, geology, history and legend as well as being regarded as a golfers paradise. These popular attractions that must be visited are the majestic Cliffs of Moher (3 miles), Allwee caves (10 miles), The Burren (6 miles), Poulnabrone Dolmen (10 miles) or take the boat from the pier in Doolin to the Aran Islands and experience the last outpost of gaelic civilization where irish is still the spoken language. Worldwide famous golf courses nearby are Lahinch (links), Doonbeg (links) and Ballybunion (links) to name but a few.
Doolin is renowned worldwide for its wealth of irish music and song. Home to thousands of international visitors each year, Doolin is many things to many people. For some it is a place to experience rousing music sessions nightly in the pub and for others it is a place of solitude and tranquility where one can refresh their spirits away from the everyday hustle and bustle of life.
Golf: This part of Ireland is a golfers paradise with some of the best golf courses in the world nearby. Nearby Lahinch links course (5 miles) and Doonbeg links course (30 miles) being the gems and are liable to give a strict test to the profesional golfer. There is also world famous Ballybunion links course (56 miles away) and is in the top 10 golf courses in the world for the last decade.
Also this area has some magnificent parkland courses such as Dromoland castle , Adare Manor and Woodstock in Ennis.
