About Marya Morstad
Hello! Our family loves the arts, nature, travel and hosting guests in our upstairs apartment!
Marya Morstad purchased this Apartment in 2016
Why Marya Morstad chose Calhoun Isles
Our duplex is near the heart of Uptown Minneapolis and the local lakes, yet on a quiet, shaded street. Lots of restaurants and cinemas within walking distance!
What makes this Apartment unique
We love the location of our duplex for lively Uptown urban living, yet in a quiet neighborhood (we are a half a block from a large, historic cemetery, Lakewood!) and four blocks from Lake Calhoun, now called Bde Maka Ska, which means White Earth Lake in Dakota.

Had a wonderful time!
Very nice neighborhood and fun just to walk around and see all the houses and shops. Close to parks and lakes. Our hosts were very accommodating and got me a pan I needed for a dish I wanted to make. I would love to come back some time!
Friendly, Clean, and Quiet
We loved this spot. Check in was super easy and the kitchen was even stocked with essentials which we really appreciated. This place feels more like a home and less like a rental. We were nervous to stay without any reviews on VRBO but the host is a super host on Air BnB and couldn't have been friendlier. Plenty of street parking available.
Thank you, Em! You could not have been a more perfect first guest on VRBO! And as mentioned, down the line, we plan to build a rooftop deck off the back sunroom (2nd bedroom), but no date on when that will be. Please come again anytime! ~ Marya and Ken
We live on a quiet, shaded street just five blocks from the center of lively Uptown, Minneapolis -- filled with restaurants, rooftop bars (seasonal, of course!), and shopping. We are four blocks from Lake Calhoun (now called Bde Maka Ska), where you can rent kayaks, paddle boards and boats and canoes. There is a beach with a children's playground and a cafe. We have a thriving cultural scene, with the Guthrie Theater, The Walker Art Center and Sculpture Garden and more.
