Killington Area House Rental Photos and Description

House, 10 Bedrooms + (pack n play if needed), 4 full baths & 2 half baths

The Black Diamond Lodge is a 5,000 square foot home that has been designed to capture the beauty of the Vermont country landscape from almost every room. With over 45 windows in the home each guest can truly appreciate the stunning views from the warm, welcoming decor inside. Whether it be a passing moose or bear, the lush greenery of summer, the vibrant colors of fall foliage or the peaceful snow covered tree tops, our home capitalizes on bringing the "outside" in. The House is conveniently located off the Killington road, so the home is close to all the shops, restaurants/nightlife and of course the Slopes! Killington Resort is located at the top of the Killington Road and we are about 2 miles from the slopes. Pico Resort is located less than a mile from the home. It has 10 nicely appointed bedrooms, 4 full baths and 2 - 1/2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, Bar, Huge commercial kitchen for your gourmet of the group, Dining has seating for 20, 60 inch stainless steel oven, outdoor stainless steel grill, ski locker, Hot Tub, Sauna, 5 Fireplaces, several Flat Screen TVs, Xbox, DVD, Pool Table, Foose Ball Table Washer/Dryer and Wireless Internet, computer access if needed. Due to the size of the home, it actually very cost effective especially for this caliber of home.

Very nice house with all the amenities you could wish for on your Vermont Getaway. The street the house is located on is on the shuttle route. The house has three levels that is built down into the mountain. The house is mostly glass so there are great views out every window.

About Yvonne

We love Vermont! It is truly a 4 season destination. My husband has put his heart and soul into making the house very nice for our family. We occasionally rent to those that respect and appreciate the effort.

Yvonne purchased this house in 1996

Why Yvonne chose Killington Area

I spent many years renting different condos and houses in Vermont. This house is great because it offers so many different areas to relax and entertain. I love having my family and friends up to ski in the winter or to explore in the summer. Each summer we explore a different swimming hole that the kids love! This property has the places for the kids to play and explore outside whether its sledding, biking or just exploring the woods.

What makes this house unique

The windows in our house give you the feeling that you are outside enjoying natures beauty while sitting in front of fire with a nice glass of wine or hot cocoa. You can soak in the beauty of the Vermont landscape while you are relaxing on the coach or entertaining in the commercial kitchen. It allows your family & friends to gather in the different entertainment areas of the house and have that feeling of togetherness as a group but privacy when you need it. I think that is unique to renting a larger home as opposed to a hotel where you lose some of that in a common lobby or lounge area of a hotel. Thats why this house is perfect for family reunions and the like.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Yvonne:

Well we're home in NJ. Want to tell you what a wonderful time we had. We always enjoy going away as a family each year, but everyone loved your home. Hope everything was in order when we left. Sorry about the Martini glass. I'm glad I got to meet you. My husband enjoyed talking to your husband. Who knew we had something in common. :) Hope you got home safe! I'm sure we'll be in touch. Drop me a line anytime!

Love Dawn

Birthday Celebration- Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

Main level of house and property are fabulous! Kitchen stove is a chefs dream (could use a grater, better can opener, peeler, and better wine bottle opener). Some of the bedrooms on the lower level are quite small and so we had to carefully select which rooms would be selected for the porta cribs that we needed. The house had three wonderful living rooms (one on each floor) and a dining room table that could easily seat 20. Big screen TV's through out the house and we never missed air conditioning because of the great cross ventilation and elevation. Although everyone loved the hot tub, but many of us missed a pool. The owner was very, very responsive to all of our questions and concerns. I was concerned that without snow, there would not be much to do, but I was wrong. Killington has done a wonderful job of making this area a year round resort. I recommend this area and this house to everyone. We were a group of 16 adults (ages 16 to 83), and 8 children under the age of 6 (which included two sets of 2 year old twins and a one year old). Chaos and grandma and grandpa loved it!!

Summer Stay - Motorcycle Group

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 16 motorcycle riders with a total of 11 motorcycles. We traveled nearly 300 miles before reaching our Killington VT destination. We were all in awe of the size and comfort of this home. Plenty of bathrooms where no one had to wait. Never ran out of hot water (how did that happen??)

There were 2 other couples staying at nearby time shares and even when they came for dinner ... we had ample room to seat everyone. Cooking ... OMG ... cooking was amazing in this kitchen. We cooked breakfast and dinner every day. I've never seen so many grown men fight over who was going to cook breakfast. It was great!

The multiple living rooms gave plenty of space for lounging and privacy if needed. We all slept comfortably. The outdoor space was spectacular with a deck to sit and relax as we waited for dinner. And a great firepit for a campfire with drinks and telling stories of our day. We had Euchre Tournament at the long table with 3 teams of 4. Shot some pool and played a little foosball. The house was perfect on the one rainy day we couldn't ride anywhere. I don't think anyone got on anyone's nerves. Oh, the hot tub ... it was a big hit as well! Just can't say enough good things about this home.

Centrally located, this home allowed for destinations like Ben & Jerry;s, Cabot Cheese, Americade Motorcycle Rally in Lake George, Vermont Country Store, Quechee Gorge. We will go back again to ride the roads we didn't have time for.

The homeowners were wonderful and very accommodating. We had ample supplies upon our arrival until we were able to shop. Our last day, we were able to meet them which was a special treat for me personally. This is our 5th VRBO and meeting the homeowner to be able to personally thank them was a bonus.

In summary ... definitely rent this home for your family gathering or group vacation. We are skiers and will rent this for a winter get-a-way too! .

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the wonderful review. I agree - it was great to meet you and your husband. I wish the weather was better for you, but glad you enjoyed the house and Vermont sights. It is so nice in the summer. Hope we get to share a glass of wine again next time you are up. Also - I will text you the bed manufacturer for your friend as soon I get up to the house this Friday - they are very comfortable. Best regards - Until we meet again.....

Nice property , attention to detail needed

  • 3 of 5

Firstly, the trip went perfectly and the house was great for a large group like ours ( 18 ). The kitchen and front room were a great gathering spot, as were the 2 living rooms. Parking for 7 cars was also easy. The industrial range and dual ovens made meals very simple. Overall, it was a very nice house.

However, there were some things that we didn't appreciate as a group. Small, sort of weird things you'd normally overlook, but they made an impression on us.

1. There are no curtains or blinds in any of the bed rooms. This was the biggest issue. So basically, your wake up call is whenever the sunrises in the morning. This was supposed to be a relaxing vacation for a bunch of us who were getting our first weekend away from our kids in years, and not being able to sleep past 730am was rather disappointing.

2. The TV in the kitchen wouldn't turn on. I messaged the owner and never got a response about this.

3. The property was littered with garbage. Cigarette butts, broken bottles, beer cans, and other random garbage.

4. There were no batteries in any of the remotes for any of the TVs. We went and bought batteries and replaced them all, it wasn't a big deal. But just very strange. I messaged the owner about this and she was apologetic.

So, in conclusion, the house and property is a great place for a large group vacation, but I think attention to detail is important and these few things took this from a 4 or 5 star review to a 3 star.

Owner's Response: Hi Mike: Thanks so much for the suggestions. We really do appreciate it. After your response I personally walked the entire property. I did find 1 beer bottle and several beer caps around the perimeter of the woods by the hot tub. Unfortunately, guests sometimes forget things apres ski in the hot tub & throw things in the woods. Why people do this - I can't understand. The property management does a great job with the house but must have missed some. I didn't see any cigarette butts because we have one of those outdoor smoker bins, perhaps management already tended to them before my walk through. Was there a garbage bag left outside and an animal got into it....I can't fathom what garbage you are referring to. When we renovated the house we purposefully removed all the window covering (dusty curtains and blinds) as the property is surrounded by beautiful trees - we wanted to bring the outside in! However, as an early riser with young kids I didn't consider your point of view. I have discussed this with my husband and we will be installing window treatments to alleviate this concern for your group. Hopefully your group will consider us again in the future. Best regards and I'm glad your group had a good time.

Excellent rental for a large group

  • 5 of 5

I rented this house for my daughter's wedding at the Peak Lodge. We were 8 couples and all found comfortable rooms. As others have stated, the photos do not do the house justice. It offers a number of spaces for privacy but also plenty of room for all 16 to party together. The outdoors were brought indoors by all the large windows. Several of the group were foodies and very much enjoyed cooking meals for the group on the restaurant grade stove. Plenty of parking for 8 cars and very convenient to the restaurants along the access road and Killington base areas inc gondola. Others who rented houses in the area visited us and all agreed this was by far the best of the bunch. We'll be renting it again for an upcoming ski trip!!

Tremendous stay!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures posted do not do this property justice. It is BEAUTIFUL and exceeded our expectations. My group and I planned a trip to Killington surrounding the Spartan Race weekend and needed lodging for 13. Not only is the house very close to the resort, it had beds to spare, and had PLENTY of room to spread out all over the house and enjoy the property. Check out the master bedroom shower, WOW! The girls even saw a moose outside the kitchen window! Two thumbs up for this property!

We are approximately 1.5 miles from the slopes both Alpine and Cross Country. The house is on the shuttle route if you do not want to use your car. All the restaurants, shopping and bars are located on one road (Killington Road - also called the Access Road), our street is located just off the main road. Our's is perfect for a large group or reunion or 2 or 3 families to share. The house is mostly windows so there are great outdoor views to be had in the Autumn, Winter, and Summer.
