Although we had arranged with the owner of the property that we would be arriving very late he was nowhere to be seen. Having driven 4 hours with 2 young children this was understandably a problem, I had to check in to a hotel even though I had paid for this property. I rang the owner at least 10 times, he responded at 11am the next day. He arrived at the property did not apologise and rushed to the flat to tidy it up. When we finally stepped foot in the apartment it was filthy, the stench of cigarettes was overwhelming. The shower cubicle was broken as was the toilet, there was a layer of dust on the surfaces, rotten food in the fridge, cigarette burns on the sofa, alcohol bottles stacked on the kitchen units like trophies. This was not what I expected and certainly not what I was willing to accept. We refused to stay there and checked in to a hotel for the rest of the stay. The 'host' did agree to refund us and did look apologetic after seeing my wife in tears from the whole experience, but totally unacceptable. I would not wish a similar experience on anyone. I am not one to write reviews but it would be unfair on anyone else who innocently books this property. The host also does not speak a word of English which complicates things further.
This client wished to check in at 2 AM in the morning. As we are not a hotel and don't have 24-hour check-in service. This couldn't be handled; so the client could ceckin in the morning.
When they voiced disappointment about the property, Flat4Day issued a full refund to the client.
